One star can’t even do this review any justice. I’ve been going to this range since 2015 & every time before now I have not once had any issues. Most of the staff is laid back & friendly, however this time was a shorter experience at the range due to a short chubby Mexican that came over to literally bully my family & friends. Complaining that he has to pickup shotgun shells that are shot (even though we always clean up to reload our own shells) then he proceeded to take all the casings off the table & take them for himself. Claimed he was top dog because he’s been there for 4 years, complaining that no one listens around there & was saying we can go to another range & with that I can gladly agree. If you have an employee that belittles regular customers that speaks volumes as to who we are dealing with. 8 years and never had an issue but I will gladly find another range to shoot at. Don’t know his name but he has made you all look bad, I’m sure there is several more people he has done this with. Glad I didn’t buy a year membership. Someone with that attitude shouldn’t be nowhere near a gun.

Had a blast here, went out for a couple hours to shoot, staff was very laid back but constantly watching to be sure everyone was being safe and even keeping close eye on everyone while the bell was ringing that no one was touching their firearms, one of the best experiences I have had when going to outdoor ranges, keep up the good work you guys are amazing.

Went to the gun range a few days ago and had an awesome time with some of my friends. Great place to go and great service! When I got home I realized I left my wallet so I called and asked if they seen it. They kept in contact with me and found it! 5stars will definitely be going back.

This is my favorite place in Odessa. We spend a lot of time here and we’ve never had any complaints. It would be nice if there was a taco or burrito truck out there for when we stay out there for hours.:)

Our first time there, and had to go through a safety meeting. Learned the rules of range, for example, the bell goes off every 20 minutes. When the bell goes off, you can walk to your targets and all guns have to be unloaded and open and laying on the table. I had my 18 year old triplets with me and my brother taught all of us how to shoot. I felt very safe and comfortable there.

A group of us went to this range on Sunday. Alex who refuses to wear a range shirt failed to identify himself and started giving my husband attitude. He reached over and picked up my husbands gun and pointed it at my husband and then himself. He still had yet to identify himself as he did so. He claimed that we were in violation of the rules yet the other worker said that everything we did was fine. We were asked to leave because Alex would “throw a hissy fit and go to the boss. ” I tried contacting the owner and was told to never return even though we followed all rules.

First, it’s not a private club like MSA. Anyone can show up and shoot by paying either the daily fee or the yearly membership fee. I’m yearly. (Veterans discount.) It’s a very relaxed atmosphere, but safety is the number one priority. Example: I was there at the 100 yard range one day and someone was rapid firing over at the 300 yard range. I was about to walk over and explain the issue, but the range officer quickly showed up and put a stop to it. There are rules for a reason. Before you’re allowed to shoot you must take a safety class. Once you’ve taken it you are given a signed slip that states you have taken it. Keep it with you as you may need to show it on your next visit. I have taken pictures of my safety and membership cards that I keep in my phone – their suggestion. I laminated the hard copies and keep them in my wallet.

They have the essentials for sale if you need something like targets or ammunition and they have guns, gongs and such for rent. Want your LTC? They can help you with that. It’s convenient to be able to shoot at the 100 yard range, move over to 300 yards and then pack up, switch gears and head over to the pistol range. I always go during the week as the place is popular enough that the pistol range can get pretty busy on weekends.

Other reviewers complaints about the bell system are silly. 15 minutes of shooting time is plenty. Then the bell rings for five minutes and you get to go check your targets and set up new ones. Without the bell, how do you ever get to go down range to do this? (Yeah, I have a spotting scope too.) When that bell rings just clear your weapon, lay it down and don’t touch it again until that bell stops - even if you're ready to leave. Don’t go down range until you’re sure everyone has stopped shooting and don’t start shooting again until you’re sure no one is still down range – even if the bell has stopped ringing. It’s all common sense and paying attention. And by the way, if you have quality headgear you CAN hear the bell. My muffs are electronic and I hear everything fine while wearing them.

I’ve only been a member for a few months, but I’ve never had a problem with any of the staff here. Everyone I’ve spoken with has always been friendly and accommodating. THEY ALWAYS STRESS SAFETY! Get caught screwing around or damaging property and you sill likely be asked to leave. I, for one, appreciate that. If someone else is unsafe then I’m not safe.

I like this place. It’s wide open with room to move about. So much better than an indoor range. Just be sure to bring your own chair. ;)
