Old Hickory Inn Barbecue, Houston TX

I’ve ordered from here a few times and I love the flavor of the chopped beef baker, it’s huge and the flavors are on point!

Ordered 2 chopped beef sandwiches and the taste was just terrible the sauce was horrible. Seem like the BBQ was just old and they added sauce to make it taste better. Idk but nope never again.

Absolutely great barbecue space the sauce is just a little too sweet for me but I got it on the side so it was fine

The ribs were really good as were the green beans! Came with some tasty bread! But they forgot one of my sides which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Best potato salad I’ve had at a bbq place burgers are good as well staff very friendly definitely will be returning to this place

Always wonderful service from employees who genuinely care about the food they serve. I usually get Bbq and it’s always good. Today I got the fried catfish and I’m very impressed!

Not much on atmosphere but I am addicted to the chopped beef sandwich. Peach "cobbler" very tasty.a crumble type of dessert not the pie crust sort of cobbler.yeah, don't argue, I know what my momma made!

With so many BBQ options around, it took me a number of years to visit Old Hickory. The location doesn't do it many favors, BUT I am happy I did find my way in. It is now my everyday BBQ spot. There are certainly better BBQ at high end spots, but Old Hickory delivers good BBQ at a good price. I just wish they had mash potatoes.

Excellent as it has been for the last 50+ years. It is one of only three businesses that are in that strip center. They have been there since I was little over 40 years ago. That is a testament to their tasty barbecue.

Nice place with good Barbecue at a decent price. The staff we interacted with was awesome and very welcoming. As a place relatively close we would definitely be back. The food was the best in the nearby area if we want similar service with better cue we have to drive about 20-30 minutes. We can get better flavor but the staff here makes it worth skipping the other place and the fact that the prices are better pretty much guaranteed we'll not be going to the other place that's a little further out. As a realist I will be honest they aren't going to win a competition with their Barbecue but it is actually good, their potato salad is better than most in Houston they have a good menu of sides and if you ask me that is a good thing. What's better is they are consistent we've been places that the cue knocked our socks off and had comparable service but the next trip it wasn't as good. Old Hickory Inn stays consistent, so solid flavor good sides and close to home for a decent price I can't complain. Oh and 4 stars is it for Houston that is the top rating period. We have 5 star rated places but they are hundreds of miles away and extremely hard to find but they match on service and consistency with better flavor but, they are also expensive and expensive to travel to. I will take solid consistent flavor and great service close to home every day. If Google allowed us a more detailed rating I would give 5 stars for service, 4 stars for price and flavor but we can't so I'll base the rating on the flavor. However keep up the great work and awesome service.

So I ordered on grubhub my fish plate that I love but tried the cucumber salad and yams.yall should put seasoning on your veg and I stopped ordering fries due to being dried out.the sides are horrible but the fish is still great.

I would give no stars if I could, this place can NEVER seem to get orders correct when ordering through a delivery service. I have even called them to make sure they get it right before it is picked up, and they still get it wrong, and just want to offer a dessert. How about just get it right the first time!

This is a great place that's been here since the 60s. Friendly service. Food is always excellent. Cooked right in house.
