Old Smokehouse reviews
26The meats here are fantastic and it's a great atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable as well. Highly recommend!
Consistent BBQ, alot of bbq joints are great one day and the next week are not so good. Not Old Smokehouse it's great all the time.
Need a Ph.d to figure out the menus, and you must stand in the right spot to order and pick up or you will be chastised. Corn and slaw was awful, meat was ok but very fatty. Overall environment was not good which took away from the meal as well. Plus, the place needs some serious exhaust fans!
Been here twice recently. The first time, I simply ordered a brisket sandwich with 2 sides, which was fantastic. The brisket was moist and tender, and the sides were good. The next time I went (June 8th), I ordered some brisket, pork shoulder, and chicken. I was charged for the chicken before then being notified they were out of it, which was fine since I just had it replaced with more brisket.however, the sides were luke warm and the meats were dry and downright awful to eat. Mainly the brisket was the problem here since it was awfully dry, but the same was true for the pork shoulder as well. The man working there also seemed to be in a grumpy mood, which I assume is inconsequential to the food quality but I thought its worth mentioning. Final verdict would be that I'd say this place is hit or miss. You may be served exceptional BBQ, or you may end up with something you wouldn't even want to eat for free.
Would had done one star, but the service was great. My brisket was crazy dry and the whole restaurant was filled with so much smoke. It was hard to breathe in there.
Great place for a bbq, plus it's near my place. Also the staffs are attentive and warm, would come back again for sure.
Food was aweSome from "Brisket"! To the Chicken to the sausage! Evan to the potato salad, Even tried to ask for recipe to potato salad but no luck!
Went on a Sunday. Probably the worst beans I’ve ever had, I would advise to stay away from them. Dry meat, especially the chicken. The tea has a heavy lemon flavor, some people may like this but I didn’t care for it. Do yourself a favor and just go to Rudy’s.
Food is usually good and fresh but m
NOT today
no flavor potator salad, corm was ok.brisket was so so dry.
Portion was good friendly people, I think was a little over priced. The food was not served hot was a lil disappointed.
Was a good idea to stop by there and enjoy a great meal! Brisket and chicken along with the sides was a full meal deal for the price! Will be returning. Brisket is juicy and tender, chicken was just as juicy. Thank you for a great meal.
Have been to this bbq place for sometime now. The sausage is too salty on this trip. The three meat plate was $20.00 on this trip. I requested pork ribs, lamb and brisket with 2 sides. Lamb was mostly bone. Not worth the price. Briskey missed the mark today. The flavors and the price left a sour taste today.
I got the rib, brisket, and sausage plate with creamed corn, and pinto beans. ALL the meat products were ice cold, the beans were hot, and under cooked, but the corn was hot and really tasty. The sweet tea was really good too.
Great location for delicious bbq.i love this place so much.i look forward to a return trip.the place has a great atmosphere.i can see why they have a lot of good reviews.
The workers are nice but I've tasted better. Prices are high. One time I got 2 plates full of fat and I spent $33. The second time it was okay but the ribs were to crispy. Also the BBQ sauce is to waterery.
Brisket was very good, sausage was cheap store bought, beans and potato salad were decent, but small portions and plates are overpriced.
I stopped into old smokehouse based on a recommendation while in town for work. I got the brisket and ribs combo. Both were very good with a great smoked flavor and very good sauce also! Some of the best bbq I've had.
Had gotten brisket there last year and it was great. Went by this year but they hadn't opened yet. Can get brisket around home but the spices used in San Antonio are different and makes the meat taste better.
I had ribs and brisquet, it was so delicious. This place is very unique and it has unique flavors in their barbecue.
It was alright had the Brisket and lamb rib the lamb rib had alot of fat than meat both portions and the brisket was so so it wasn't the best but could be better
