Once Upon A Child Katy

I can't tell enough tell people about this place. They're really fast at processing the drop off stuff, they helped me carry in my box when they saw me struggling with my toddler, and one of the young ladies was wearing her baby while she worked behind the counter. I thought that was AWESOME! Super mom over there! That speaks very highly of the owners for encouraging that, it really incentives me to purchase mainly from here not just because of the cool items but because I want to support a business that supports families.

I like the once upon a child stores. Good prices and some good inventory. This location, however, needs some work. The wrong size clothes are often in the wrong sized section (the sections are divided by size) and the tags often do not portray the correct size of the actual clothing. Very frustrating to get home and have a quarter of your purchases be the wrong size. Make sure to double check the size.

Awful awful awful. I went in there when they opened, I only had one basket, it was a second person in line. There’s about 15 people working and I am still waiting over an hour to get my things back. Awful customer service

Most of the negative reviews seem to be around selling here, although I still saw a lot of people coming in to sell stuff when I visited.

I only came to buy and for the selection I'd give 5 stars! There is A LOT of stuff! Pretty reasonably priced as well I'd say. Of course newer items and certain brands will be a little more expensive than the generally lower prices. More expensive being around $12 - $20 range, rather than under $10.

Also everything seemed pretty well organized and the store was neat and not in total chaos, considering how many clothes and items they have to go through.

I knocked a star off for customer service. Lol it's like no one wanted to reaallly deal with customers, of course they would because they have to, but the overall vibe was like "meh". No smiles or friendliness. Now, no one was rude necessarily, but they didn't strive to make a welcoming environment I guess is the best I can explain it.

Customer service is a biggie for me when I review places so (and it should be for any business) I really take that into account if I review a place.

That being said, I'd still go back here and I'd encourage people to check it out as they did have a good selection of clothes etc.

Hit or miss. You usually have to search hard and sizes are bit all over the place. Always a long line.

Found a used baby bouncer to hang from the ceiling. Tried to sell some old baby stuff- wasn’t accepted. Oh well

Aside from having to really dig through to find what you want (as expected duh) this place is such a gem! They were pretty busy when I came (weekday around noon) but they were very friendly from the moment I walked in and processed my clothes fairly quickly. Will be returning with more clothes to sell and buy. How cute is this jacket!?

Unfortunately there isn’t any zero stars here. The worst attitude I have ever seen in my life! The whole staff is so unwelcoming and unprofessional like it’s a requirement to work there! And they want to buy valuable things for pennies!
I would rather throw my stuff in the garbage than go to this place again!

I was in town visiting my daughter & told her about this store which we have in my town of Tyler Tx. Tyler was currently having a store wide sale of 40% off so I was in hopes that the Katy store would as well. When we came in a young girl greeted us & handed us both a bag & said they were having a fill the bag for $10 no more than 10 items per bag. The store was full of people & we had my grand daughter in her stroller & started looking for her some items to wear to daycare. We were searching for 9 months size & spent over an hour so we could get 20 items for $20. We even picked out some larger size for her for the winter months due to there not being much to choose from in her size. We then stood in line for over 30 minutes to find at checkout that it was only clearance items that were part of the deal…. I didn’t even see a clearance section. I explained to the cashier that we had been told something different when arriving & I heard others voicing the same concern. So instead of paying $20 plus dollars it cost me $101. I can promise you I’ll never be back, that was an expensive lesson for me & the staff didn’t seem to care.

Such a huge selection and they’re having a 50% off clearance sale! I got so much for my son at a low cost! Love this place and the friendly staff. A great place to get clothes for quickly growing kids.

Took in a lot of darling girl clothes. I was very surprised by what they bought and what the passed on. They didn’t want like new pants or dresses from Baby Gap. I found many clothes on their used racks that had stains. A lot of their used clothes look very dated and dirty. I will not go back. Used clothing is overpriced. You can buy clothing at Target without stains for less than they are pricing their stuff. It is overcrowded and has very small aisles.

If you wanna get robbed out your gently used baby/ toddler clothes, please come here. It’s ridiculous how they just give you a few cents for your items but sell stuff over priced. I get there’s more to running a small business but that’s ridiculous.

My first time there to sell brand new baby clothes with tags still on them and i arrived to not only find that they give out pennies for items. And they stole one of my outfits and claimed it wasn’t in my tied up bag that i brought my items in. Very unconcerned rude customer service it’s ashamed that they stole from me the worst first experience i would not recommend this place to anyone and if you do decide to go please take a picture of your items something I wish i would have done in case the price they give you is pennies the worst place in Katy. Really the police wasn’t a big help either they got away with stealing from my grand daughter sad sad place of business.

LOVE this store! The prices are very good and the clothes are nice. I always find great deals. I also appreciate how organized the store is every time I in! I got these brand new pink chucks for my daughter for $10!

Buying clothes from here isn’t the issue and the pricing is okay but selling clothes is where the problem is. The first time selling here I had a box full and they bought like 5 outfits and I got about $20 but this recent time I brought brand new outfits in my son only once and 2 brand new pair of shoes he hasn’t even worn he just grew too fast so I thought to sell them there and was only offered $5 ($4.75) for the whole transaction and I’m sure they are going to sell them for double the price. I’m not sure how the selling process goes but next time I’ll just sell them on offer up or give them to someone who needs them. Customer service was okay the lady on the phone was nicer than the workers in the store.
