We just love our church. We get such a natural God given High to be with our Christian sisters and brothers. To hear and sing with our band. To listen to guests, our Pastor Gerald, and associate Pastors Preach. We are always excited to hear the message God has for us each Sunday. We have learned and grown since coming here 4 years ago. God Bless this family of people. Your Children. Thank you Jesus.

This is definitely not a cowboy church or cowboy related. I've been there 3 times and not one person spoke to me. The pastor was screaming his sermon I anger and I felt anger as I left. I'm sorry it's just not a cowboy church and I've been to plenty of them.

Can't say enough about this church I love their music I love the pastor he's great I've taken a few pictures and posted them in the past but pictures can't explain it you just got to experience it if you're looking for a good church this is the greatest. What I like most is the way the pastor brings the sermon across he gets his point out there he grabs you with it he can even make you laugh with it or he can make you cry with it but the man brings it across like no other.

We were with Dr Dudley in Fairfield Cowboy Heritage Church and followed him to Whitney. He is a man after the heart of God. Walks what he talks. Open Range Church is a loving fellowship, the hands and feet of the Lord reaching out to help its members and hurting people in their community. May Grace and Peace cover them in all they do.

We had a memorial there on 4/22 and PAID for the use of the church. The pastor was rude, hateful and pushy. The service started at 4: 22 and we had paid for the use of the auditorium as well as the fellowship for food and the Pastor was pushing us out. We had no tine to be out as we explained there would be food. He was so rude to most of our guests. He was disrespectful to us and had absolutely no respect for the loss of our 28 yr old son who passed away in a car accident. We had first thought wow we would like to start going there as we were looking for a new church home. But, I will never even attend a function there or consider even a visit. If the pastor was that mean why would I want to know any of the members. I was shocked. I have never seen rudeness in a church as bad as this. He would not even speak to our guest even when he was approched. Please don't ever try for a function here or waste your time because it is not worth your time. Try another Church in the other. We've been to functions and events there before and even the members can be rude sometimes. What are they preaching there. Also, sinners are who Jesus gave his life for but they seem to have forgotten that. Oh yes. I didn't know he was the pastor until we were back home and my husband told me.

As someone who has observed and seen the preaching and the teachings of Open Range Cowboy Church since July 2020, I hate to say to mark and avoid this church.

Yes, the people are generally respectful, but past the veneer of niceness is problematic theology and worship at best.

Instead of preaching the Gospel in the manner that the apostle Paul has instructed us to do, (Christ alone, Christ crucified), the church has cowboy style-ized the Gospel in their image to their audience.   This is a problematic issue with all cowboy churches across the nation.   Making the true Gospel in an image it is not.

I have given much patience and grace to their attendees for nearly two years, but I have come to a point that at some time there has to come to a stop.   Several of their attendees have begged me to come to worship with them.   As I have studied their worship services and their preaching, it falls short of what a real church service should be.

What's readily on-demand is a run-on Bible commentary on a current topic with a few select Bible verses to make it sound like it is Biblical preaching from Pastor Dudley, whom seems to be someone without much proper seminary training.   Whereas it is preaching per se, it is only an inch deep in contextual theology.   Barely scratches the surface of the meaning of the verses said in the sermon.   And leaves the soul starving to know the real truth of Biblical education within the sermon.

I have asked them via email what their position on certain doctrines and current issues.   They have no statement of faith or their views explained on their website.   That's a serious red flag for any church.   If I asked 15 questions that could have been answered in short form, they declined to do so.    The only answer they offered was "Baptist" in response to the 15 questions.    If a church can not answer basic theological questions,   they most likely are not sound in doctrine.   If the sufficiency of Scripture is not enough, then they should be avoided at all cost.   Not only that, but since they want to align with ministers from Gateway Church,   Open Range Cowboy Church should do themselves a favor and either repent on their inerrant theology or just quit calling themselves a "by the Bible, verse by verse" church,   which they are not.   They should do themselves a favor, remove their standing, and quit being a poser for the First Baptist Convention of Texas.

Hill County needs a church that is based on sound doctrine and worship.   Too many people pleasing wanna-be  so called preachers.   There may be nice buildings with good moral people that talk about Christ, but never possess who the real Christ is.   This church and others in the county do not preach on sin, salvation, or repentance.
