Ophthalmology Associates, Rishav Kansal, MD: Eye Physician and Surgeon, Richardson TX

Called to ask what brand of lens they offer for cataract surgery. They wouldn’t tell me. Said I had to come in. Asked what kind if credentials the surgery coordinator had … they wouldn’t tell me. Asked to speak to office manager.they don’t have one. I need cataract surgery. I had already did all pre-testing with another Doctor. Was trying to fist compare. This office was no help at all. If an eye doctors office wont even tell you tge type of lens they offer. I’d be turned off

Great doctor. Kind. Friendly. He took time to explain my issues. Staff was super friendly too.

As a patient of Dr. Kansal, I highly recommend him and his team. I've visited Dr. Kansal for general yearly eye care as well as specific retinal damage and cataract surgery. I've experienced wonderful care in each circumstance. Dr. Kansal is careful and thorough in his explanations of diagnoses. His office and support staff are professional and make the patient experience smooth from beginning to end.

At my appointment, the doctor promised to give me a copy of my exam result. He told the staff to send it to me by email. I never received it. Then recently I moved to another state and asked them for a copy. They required me to pay to get a copy of my own medical records!
The exam experience in the office was good, but having to pay to get access to my own records seems very wrong!

Edit: They told me over the phone that getting a copy via mail or email would cost the same!

By far the best, if I could give him more stars I would! Dr. Kansal did my husband‘s cataract surgery as well as my eye exam, he is seriously one of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve ever met. He is also extremely knowledgeable in his field. Great doctor all the way around!

Dr. Kastal does not understand how the front office of his practice operates!

I asked for an itemized receipt for services to be rendered (they insist on payment when you check in, not after the services are rendered) ; however, I was told it would be emailed to me in 3 days.

When I asked why it takes 3 days, Brian the office manager said he'd get me a copy today.

When I see was leaving, they said wait for him to prepare the itemized receipt. 20 minutes later he came out with a receipt.

When I got home, the receipt said I paid $60 when I had paid over $200. I need adequate receipt for HSA and EyeMed reimbursement.

Called Brian this morning and, he started to tell me it's due to the way they post charges. Only Dr. I have gone to that can't give you an itemized receipt on day of service! Asked for Dr. Kastal to call me.

When he called, he wouldn't let me talk. "I don't have much time to talk to you. " Said he had a copy of my correct receipt in front of him. "They made a mistake. They are human. ". Asked him to email corrected copy of services rendered. Have not received it

IT WASN'T A MISTAKE PER BRIAN. IT TAKES 3 DAYS DUE TO HOW THEY POST PAYMENTS IN SOFTWARE. "UNALLOCATED PAYMENTS CAN'T POST IMMEDIATELY"

NOT MY PROBLEM IF YOU HAVE INADEQUATE SOFTWARE AND/OR STAFF TO POST PAYMENTS AT TIME OF SERVICE.

Dr Kansal, in my opinion, is a top notch physician and brilliant surgeon. Dr. Kansal is a kind and caring person. His bedside manner is great, and he was very thorough in the examination of my eyes, which had cataracts. Dr. Kansal performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes in August of 2021. I did not experience any complications during and after surgery. Also, his staff is very professional and they are great at what they do. I was required to wear glasses when driving since 1966, and now I can drive without the need for eye glasses, but need them for reading. I am very pleased.

Making this post on behalf of my boss. The doctor is truly great. He has perfect bedside manner, takes the time explaining everything and running the test needed. Was very impressed with this office.
I personally have called on behalf of him and my mother who also goes here, and was astonished by the front office. They were friendly, helpful and answered all my questions. This truly is a great office from the staff to the doctor. Thank you for your great service!

This place is horrible relative to time management.
I am a former patient of Dr Cotner. This place has changed ten fold over since Dr Cotner retired. Can be as long as 1.5 hour wait for a scheduled appointment. Continously year after year. Good care but terrible respect of the patient's time.

I had a dust particle in my eye, I made a quick emergency appointment at Dr. Kansal's office, which was very easy to get on same day.
He did a thorough examination of my eye and took 2 particles out. I am very happy for his care and service. Will definitely recommend friends and family to visit him in need. Thank you, doctor.

Dr. Kansal is so professional, reassuring, and supportive of his patients, and I am so glad to have him as my ophthalmologist. Several of my friends, and family members have reached out to Dr. Kansal for their eye care.

My cataract surgery with Dr. Kansal was a complete success. I wasn't expecting colors to be so much brighter and now I have 20/20 vision. Dr. Kansal has a kind, caring nature and I have recommended him to friends. The staff is great, too!

My mother was due for a diabetic retinal exam and I found this location through her insurance. After reading the positive reviews I decided to make an appointment. I'm glad I did. The staff is kind and professional. Dr. Kansal made my mother feel at ease by the way he explained the best options for her vision. He was very personable. I would definitely recommend him other family and friends.

Dr. Kansal along with his staff here are amazing. The business is unassuming from the outside but don’t let that fool you, they’re first-class professionals through and through. I would not even consider going elsewhere after being a patient here. Do yourself a favor and call them today.
