Wonderful people and wonderful memories of decades of perfect sushi. I miss the owners and the wonderful place now that I'm in Colorado?

Wish I could say what the sushi tasted like. We walked in around 6pm (party of 3) and sat at the sushi counter. We requested Omikase. After almost 90 minutes we had recieved one dish (Kamikaze Shrimp) which was over cooked and drenched in sauce. The restaurant was busy but the couple beside us seemed to be getting a steady stream of sushi. After a couple of follow up requests we politely asked for the bill for the shrimp and left. Sushi looked like the typical volume based fair I.e. Quantity over quality. Terrible service!

Ive had better sushi at a gas station. Possibly the worst ive ever tasted.

Should've turned and walked out after that old fish smell in the restaurant but I was starving.

Solid rice the size of a nickle with the tiniest sliver of fish. What did I even pay for? Such a dishonor to real sushi chefs.

Zero organization at the cashier desk. Couldn't even pay and leave.

A true hidden gem, right in the heart of Corpus. I've been coming here as long as I can remember with my parents. My dad actually proposed to my mom here and their photo is somewhere on the wall of endless polaroids from the early 90's. The same owner and head sushi Chef Taka San has been crafting the sushi rolls all this time. His wife, AT used to be the hostess and would always greet you with a smile. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. Their sunomono salad is the best I've ever had. I love Origami and always look forward to eating here and supporting this place that's been a staple in the community for more than 30 years.

The sushi here is legit. Proper cut, proper temperature. The sushi chef is an old school sushi-master. We won't find anything like today, even in Austin or California. This is one of those hidden gems of Corpus.

This was recommended by one of my husband’s coworkers, so we decided to try it out. The waitresses were friendly, and the menu was simple which I can appreciate. Too many options for me will give me a headache. We got the tempura and miso soup to start. Miso soup was nice and hot, very comforting. The tempura was okay. It wasn't my favorite. The batter was light and airy, but just not crispy enough for my liking. We waited close to an hour for our sushi because there was only one sushi chef, he was also an elderly man so we were understanding about it. We were a little taken aback when my husband’s sushi rolls took long though. We had just finished our sashimi, and we waited another half an hour for his rolls. I will say that this is probably the freshest sashimi I have had in TX. It just melts in your mouth, the slices were a little skimpy though. The rolls we got were decent, we thought it was just average, but once again the fish tasted very fresh. Unfortunately, we left here a little less than content, so we had to go get a “second” dinner. It was a nice experience to go here, but I don’t think we will be back.

The food is ok at best. It did not feel like the food had any love put into it. The waiter was on point. You need to watch them however. They charged us $10 more than what the menu showed. Sad to say you pay more and get less from here than a sushi restaurant in Wichita KS. Let that sink in.

The staff was kind however the food was awful. Nothing had any flavor at all, very small portions and everything from the sushi, rice, shrimp tempura, and streak/chicken was absolutely awful. I am on vacation with my two daughters, mother and boyfriend and we spent 135.27 on our meals we didn't eat hardly any of it, just enough to sample each thing before we saw a roach crawl across the black plates they brought our food to us on and then we left immediately. We made it out to our car and the owner and waitress walked out and told us we didn't leave a tip. We didn't eat even a quarter of the food! I told the owner That none of liked the food and she left our car window very upset. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all.

In my honest opinion, there is little I can say that accurately describes how outstanding of a restaurant this is. With an extraordinary atmosphere that makes you feel as if you traveled back in time, with extremely kind staff and food that is worth double what they charge. As an enormous fan of traditional Japanese architecture, cuisine and art this place has become my all time favorite location to visit for a taste of truly beautiful aesthetic and food that has been perfected over decades of tradition. I highly recommend.

Our eyes were slightly burning in there and it smelled like a wet towel. Sushi is super tiny but cheap, was also pretty warm. Took 40 minutes on a slow evening. Waitress was nice.

The sushi is as authentic as it gets! The owner of the restaurant makes the sushi himself, and he is an absolute gem! Not only is he perfect in his craft, but you can tell he takes great pride in his work. If you ever get the chance to try this establishment out, I highly recommend the dragon roll! It's freaking adorable!

Outstanding sushi. Una Don (eel) is excellent. Really enjoyed the Uni. Rice today was particularly good. All sushi is tasty and true to Japanese taste and flavors.

Kinda a little hole in the wall inside a shopping plaza, stale odor, we actually almost left. Extremely glad we stayed, we ordered a ton of food. Green tea was excellent and ALL the food was simply exceptional. Service was outstanding, and my wife and I split a green tea Ice Cream at the end, they dressed it up like a couples dish, it was too cute. We will definitely be back. Looks can be deceiving. This place has by far the best Japanese Cuisine in South Texas!
