Original Blanco Cafe, San Antonio TX

Migas and chileaquiles are kinda mid, really a good description of the whole place. Tasted like they melted kraft singles on top, coffee was good tho.

This old building speaks volumes as it is surrounded by steel and glass medical facilities. The Original location still wins with what they promise.

Must try: Huevos Rancheros.over medium bacon.salsa on top.flour tortillas.

Must Try: Sopa de Res.huge chunks w corn tortillas.lots of everything.

I read positive reviews for this place so I decided to try it for lunch. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was busy. My server was very nice and attentive. I ordered the Enchiladas Verdes. The food was hot and fresh, but I feel like the Verde sauce was missing something. The picante had a nice flavor and heat.

The atmosphere was clean and comfortable, but if you’re looking for a fiesta or lively decor, you won’t find it. Overall, a good choice for reasonably priced food.

The place is too crowded which makes it seem like other people are sitting right next to you. Parking is horrible!

Food is meh.

But the service was absolutely HORRIBLE. We went today at around ~10: 00a. Place wasn't necessarily packed, but it did have people in there. We walked in and the few people in front of us were kindly greeted and led to a table. When it was our turn, we were brusquely told "Sit wherever". When we sat down, it took ~7 minutes for someone to even come see us and take our order for drinks. Meanwhile, other tables that were around us and seated AFTER us received their menus and drinks BEFORE US.

When we finished our meal, we asked our server for a to-go container for our leftovers. 10 minutes later, we still hadn't received anything. My boyfriend went up to the front to pay and ask for the to-go container as well. When he asked the staff for a "cup for the leftover food", they rudely told him "The cups are $1. What do you need them for? !? " At this point my boyfriend told them "Um, it's for my leftover food. I asked for one 10 minutes ago. " Thankfully, they finally gave us the to-go container after that exchange and did not charge us for it.

I understand if you're busy. However, it isn't the right thing to treat your customers poorly. Thanks for the learning experience. Will not be back.

This place is a favorite. The consistency is always on each visit! I always look forward to coming to this establishment.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST ENCHILADAS YOU WILL HAVE IN ALL SAN ANTONIO FOR DECADES RONT CONFUSE ORIGINAL BLANOCOS WITH Blancos café on blanco rd. Big difference. Original Blancos is the best one. HANDS DOWN. I’ve eaten with my 82 year old mother in many restaurants and ORIGINAL BLANCOS CAFE BEATS THEM ALL. They make their own tortillas both corn and flour. Puffy Tacos are great too. All their food is worth the drive. Amazing food

Good breakfast plates. Authentic flavors. I ordered migas with a side of ranchero salsa. Pretty good. Fresh handmade tortillas. A little bit higher prices than I expected, but given the busy location the prices are fair. My plate was $9. Clean restaurant, friendly staff. Overall, no complaints.

Why are there so many grouchy old ladies working here? You dont like your job then quit! Someone needs to put these old ladies in there place! No more tips from me. I get it your busy but you don't need to act like that. Plus the food is not that great. Fajitas are dry every single time. Why am I getting charged for to go plates? What's next your going to charge me for the oxygen inside the restaurant

We saw a video on utube about your enchilada plate so we came from Austin TX to try them, food was awesome we will return!

Everything is good here, and the service is on point! Lunch time it gets busy but worth the wait

First time here. Waited about 15 minutes to be seated. There were open tables but not very many waitresses. The cheese enchiladas with beef fajita plate were recommended. The best I have ever had. My water stayed empty throughout my meal. Other than that, no complaints.

Was picking up some tacos to go and the cashier refused to hand me the tacos. I showed her my phone with what I ordered and she refused to look at it I could ser my tacos were ready and she refused to ring me up.left without the tacos

Number One cheese enchiladas in the city! Tried the chicken chalupas compuestas plate it was delicious.

From the moment we walked were greeted with old family values. The waitress already knows what we want. Gets a little crowded but everyone is treated like family. Highly recommend it.

My mom and I decided to give this place a try, because we saw what good reviews they had. Upon arrival, it was completely packed which is alright. The parking situation was not the best, but despite this, we parked and went inside. My mom smiled at what seemed to be the cashier and he yelled at us angrily to wait outside since it was busy. This was very disappointing because we were looking forward to giving this place our business. I wouldn't have minded waiting outside and I understand that it could be overwhelming having so many customers at once, but I don't feel like we deserved to get treated that way. All we wanted to do was give this business our money and to be treated like that felt very disrespectful. I give this restaurant 3 stars because I am sure that their food is good if they have that many customers, but personally I will not be returning to this place. There are plenty of small family-owned restaurants that are willing to treat their customers well. First impressions are everything. I can't say anything about their food because we didn't get the chance to try it.
