Osaka Japanese Steak & Sushi Bar, San Antonio TX

Been here in 2018, came here recently and all I can say is that they amazed me with their improvements! The food was amazing! My kids as they say "tore up the rice". Also, the manager I believe was so happy to allow my wife to try different foods. Coming back again! Love the atmosphere!

OMG FN AMAZING the food was freaking to die for! The chefs were great. Made a reservation which was executed, the restaurant called me the day before and day if to confirm my reservation! Everything was 100% I cannot wait to go back!

Staff was nice but overall the food was not good, the yum yum sauce was not yum yum sauce that I get at every other Japanese steak house, tasted like French onion dip. They wouldn’t let me substitute my vegetables for extra rice so I ended up having half a plate of vegetables that I wasn’t going to eat a decent amount of rice and maybe 12 cubes of chicken. This is not a great Japanese steakhouse for the price of the menu. Maybe their sushi is better? I won’t know because I’m not spending another dollar

Today, this was totally unsatisfactory. Took about an hour for my wife and myself food to come out, daughter's still not out. When daughters food came out, NOT what she ordered. Food was good though. First time we were totally dissatisfied.

Went for the hibachi. Always so much fun! (They do have normal tables and menus, but I am only reviewing the hibachi.) Super idea for celebration dinners or dates, where you get dinner and a show in one! You will smell like the grill when you leave so don't wear things that are hard to wash! The chef has a tip jar on his cart - tipping here is not like other restaurants. The bill came with 18% gratuity added. Only 5% or that was for the chef, so BRING CASH TO TIP THE CHEF BEFORE HE LEAVES THE TABLE! You can specify additional tip on your ticket for the chef if you forget cash.

Great happy hour sushi deals $20 for 3 rolls everyday except for Friday and Saturday from 5 till 7. My kids love the fried American Ninja I love the can't remember name, I think rainbow but it's the one with eel on top. That picture on the top is not accurate. It is just down the street from the Witte Museum.

Quite disappointed with this take-out experience. I had attempted to order over the phone for pick-up to avoid third-party app fees and the phone line would not connect. I found this to be unprofessional as a restaurant business as they should always have an open phone line available, especially in case of emergencies.

Angled parking is available along the front entrance. There were a number of vehicles present indicating that the restaurant may be busy, however upon entry there were very few occupied tables. This was a red flag, however, I was still interested in trying the food as there aren't many sushi options in the area. There is a host that greets you at the front and an open concept layout. There is a sushi bar in the center where you can watch the chefs preparing sushi.

I ordered 4 rolls for my partner and I, which totaled around $43. I was happy to see they had a vegetarian section, albeit there were only 4 options. I got a Green Green roll, which was asparagus, avocado, and cucumber, topped with seaweed salad as well as an avocado roll. It would have been nice to see more basic rolls available, such as a vegetable roll or sweet potato roll. I did ask if individual rolls could be created such as those and the host had declined. I did ask for spicy mayo on the side and they did provide that to me with no charge.

My food was handed to me in a plastic bag and was in a plastic container. They provided soy sauce, chopsticks and utensils in the bag.

I could barely eat my rolls as every time I used the chopsticks to pick them up, they would immediately fall apart. These were not well made rolls as the rice and seaweed would not stick together and the pieces would just fall apart. This made the rolls difficult to eat and I ended up having to eat the inner pieces in portions. For the Green Green roll, I found the seaweed salad on top to be too overpowering on the actual roll. The flavor was no longer there and I could not finish that roll.

Unfortunately, this was an all around disappointment and I will not return.

Flavors were good but very disappointed with the portions.hardly any fried rice and vegetables on the hibachi and small amounts of steak and shrimp. Was my first time but my wife's 3rd time she was really disappointed and said we will never go back.

I've gone a few times for lunch and so far very delicious. The place is clean and the food is really fresh. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because of the service. Sometimes I get a good waiter or waitress and it's great but then there are those times where I get someone with attitude or doesn't check the table.

I don't understand how this place has so many good reviews. This hibachi restaurant is the absolute worst I've ever been to. I cant even express how disappointed I was in the food. The steak and chicken were so dry, the soup tasted off, and the floors were nasty. The overall taste of the food was just off; something you would expect from an express fast food hibachi place. WHY DONT THEY HAVE YUM YUM SAUCE!? !? It definitely would have helped the dry food go down easier. The food also took forever to come out. The high prices do not match the quality here. At the end of the day the quality of hibachi food here is a matter of preference but I've been to many many different hibachi restaurants in different city's and states and never once left disappointed; I guess the standard in san antonio is just different.

Told them we were celebrating an occasion and a hibachi chef came out, even though we were only a party of 2. He was friendly and fun. Had the dinner for 2 with steak, shrimp and scallops. Everything tasted great.

Spring rolls were very good, not that spicy though. Everything else was good as well. The shrimp was more flavorful than the steak. Took one star off due to the portion size of the steak.

Service was good, an overall positive experience. Will recommend and most likely return.

It's unfortunate to say, but I'd recommend you just stay away. The floors were dirty, the tables were sticky, and the drop ceiling tiles looked like they've never been replaced. The chashu ramen was bad (overcooked mushy noodles, a layer of white fatty foam on top, and tough pork belly). The shrimp tempura would have been good except for the fact that the shrimp was clearly old and over-frozen because it was mushy and soggy inside the batter. The only redeeming things that get this establishment 3 stars are the sushi and our server, but you can absolutely find good sushi elsewhere in the very near vicinity.

Relaxed atmosphere and solid sushi. Plenty of options without being overwhelming. Lots of good non-sushi and non-fish options so everyone has something. Okay for kids, but you'll be happier here on a casual lunch date. Get the bento box lunch special with 2 sushi rolls and sides, unless you want to go for the highest-end sushi rolls.

I was so disappointed as a first time customer. The sesame chicken is covered in bland mush. Upon getting home, I noticed that my wife’s order was not in the bag. After calling them, they never charged me for the meal. So no lose there other then wife being upset. I watched her wrote the order down so I do not know why it was not made/charged. The menu states that the meals come with soup, salad and rice. All we got was rice. The only good experience about this place is the staff upfront seems friendly.

I love this place a real favorite. Food is always great. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the staff is always hit or miss. Some are great and others not so much. But food is just amazing and if your looking for entertainment the hibachi is the way to go.
