Otter Self Storage, San Antonio TX

Very friendly staff. My only complaint is that if you are on the end row, units 1 through about 20 I believe, you dont have a whole lot of room in front of you unit and need to hope that no one needs to leave if your there. The access way in front of that row is only wide enough for one vehicle at a time. I do like the fact that you can pay your bill online and that they require you have insurance on your unit. One other little thing I dont like is that if you are even one day late with payment you are denied access to your unit until the bill is paid but on the flip side I do understand why things would need to be that way. Overall I am very happy with the decision to us this storage facility.

After taking over Watson and Taylor the quality and cleanliness of this facility plummeted severely! The whole facility has been broken into and ransacked multiple times and yet Otter still has not out onsite security in place even though customers have been sent emails stating they have. The hours of operation and gate access have changed so many times it pathetic. If you work any normal hours at a job you can forget being able to access your unit. Emails sent out after the break-ins stated that residents would be informed as to when access would be restored and that never happened. Trying to call customer service and get polite service or anything resolved is an absolute joke. I wouldn't rent from, or recommend, Otter self storage again ever, even to my worst enemy! If I could give a negativ rating I most certainly would.

0 STARS. BREAK INS IN ALL UNITS. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. #275 BROKEN INTO ALL MY LIFES BELONGING AND THEY EVEN TOOK PICTURES OF MY NEWBORNS WHAT KIND OF PERSON DOES THAT? OTHER PEOPLES STUFF WAS IN MY STORAGE AND THEY NEVER LET ME KNOW THERES BEEN BREAK INS WHILE I BEEN PAYING THEM MONTHLY! LOOKS LIKE A GHOST TOWN. DONT GET A STORAGE HERE.

Someone broke into my storage unit and they came in sometime after that to clean up. I have other people’s stuff in my unit and other units had random stuff in mine. So rather call the tenants they literally tried to cover it up by cleaning up the driveway

I've been storing family possessions at this location for a few years. When it was owned and operated by the previous owners the local was amazing. Never had any issues, but ever since otter storage took over the place has gone down hill. Their idea of security surveillance is a joke, there is no attendant at this location. Recently they had a massive break in, more than 30 units were damaged. According to police is not the first time that people have broken into this facility. Otter made no attempts to contact customers of this potential threat, or made no attempt at increasing security or surveillance. They refuse to take responsibilities for their negligence. I had insurance for my unit, but they decided to cancel my policy in June of this year without notice. (Still charging me full amount every month) Over $6000 in person property was stolen, they don't care about their customers or their property. Don't waste your time or money with these people. Just another typical money hungry company

You can clearly see all the damage to every until from the street. People who had their items stolen should come together and file a massive lawsuit against Otter. They knew this was happening and never did anything to improve security.

I was given a unit to rent that had lots of trash! Had to wait 10days for my refund and it wasn't the full amount. Have to wait another 10days.
