This was a great place to live until it was purchased by new owners, who have proceeded to run the place into the ground. I hope Venterra's shareholders (Nicola Crosby Real Estate of Canada) are aware of the carnage and the damage their employees have created here. The only good thing they did was get rid of Crystal Sanchez.

I recently moved out of ilume Park and while it may have its hiccups it was far from the terrible experience most of the reviews they have seem to show.

The staff was always extremely friendly and helpful whenever I went in. I probably reached out more than the typical resident, so I'm sure they got to know me and appreciated them not being annoyed with me as I've experienced elsewhere. They were always willing to help and assisted with whatever I asked of them.

My move in wasn't awesome as my apartment didn't seem to have been cleaned prior to move in, and getting someone up to clean it did present a bit of a challenge. Eventually I cleaned a bit before they had housekeeping come in and they also gave me a gift card to get my apartment professionally cleaned at some point in the future so that was great.

As far as noise goes, the person above me was pretty heavy footed and made some ridiculously loud banging noises at the weirdest hours, but the office worked with me as much as they could to try and resolve it. With apartment living, hearing your neighbors to an extent is to be expected and the courtesy officer was always fast to respond to excessive situations.

The apartment itself was great for the area and pricing as far as finish outs go. I had one of the smaller one bedrooms which personally I would not rent again but if I move back to the area I would definitely consider coming back for a larger one bedroom or two bedroom. The location is hard to beat in Oak Lawn and the common areas were really great although I honestly never used the pool. My main complaint would be the fact that they chose to have carpeting in the halls of a building dedicated to animals but they did a good job of cleaning things up quickly as accidents happened.

Altogether I enjoyed my time here and would recommend it to anyone looking to live in Oak Lawn for a really convenient location and decently priced apartments. The girls in the office really are all so sweet and made living here that much better!

Be careful complaining about these people as it appears the employees will misuse your personal information!

Recently just had to move out of my apartment at this complex. Luckily, they offer a 30 day guarantee where if you don't love your apartment, you can break your lease and leave without having to pay extra fees (you still have to pay for that month's lease). I really loved my apartment when I moved in. The exercise center and pool looks great when you first go on a tour at this property. And the price was a couple hundred bucks lower for a similar apartment in the uptown area.

I'm wishing I hadn't been cheap and just went with a nicer place.

When I moved in, there were several factors that contributed to me having to break my lease. I'm writing this review because I wish I was warned before I moved in. I've had to move twice (in and out of these apartments) within the last month and it has been stressful, not to mention expensive.

First - there's a cockroach problem. This was not evident upon move-in at all, but the first night I spent in these apartments, I woke up at 3am to a huge cockroach above my bed. They were also in the kitchen and bathroom. I think they are in the water lines/sewer system. The building smells of trash and when you go to the trash chute room, people just throw their trash bags into the room - so I think that contributes to the issue.
I sent an email to the apartment complex, and no one really contacted me to fix the issue at first. I went in and talked to someone, showed them a picture of what I was dealing with, and she just replied, "oh, that's a water bug", which kind of makes it not seem like a big deal, but to me it is.
In the subsequent weeks, I found about 2 cockroaches+ a day, crawling over my things and also in the dishwasher, so I couldn't really use that either.
Basically, they eventually did get the Orkin people to come spray, but by that point, I was ready to leave.
The maintenance manager also spoke to me and told me that everyone in apartments deals with cockroaches, which is not true. The apartments I moved out of, and moved back into actually, never had a cockroach problem! I literally have never seen a cockroach at my other apartment in 2 years of living there.

Issue number 2 was that the walls are super thin. I woke up at 1am to my upstairs neighbor chanting, stomping, and clapping, while saying "Thank you Jesus, Hallelujah". Not really how I want to spend my nights before a big day at work.

Issue number 3 was that some of the cardio equipment doesn't even work at the gym. And the 2 treadmills are almost always taken. Not a huge deal, but if you are expecting to use the gym there, you have to go at non-peak times or find other arrangements.

Hope that review helps out those that are looking for apartments in the uptown area.
