Argentinian Restaurant Patagonia reviews
15The BEST and truly Argentinian restaurant! Amazing food, environment and top notch customer service. MUST visit!

We had a small Birthday Party there. The service was awful. The waiter served a tap water with ice, constantly tried to hurry us up. We ordered 2 Ribeye, Argentinian Prime Steak in 14oz, MKP, 4 Argentinian Empanadas, New York Strip (Bife de Chorizo) Texas Local Farm - Prime 16 oz
$52.00 and total charge was more than $700.
On the question " Why it is so expensive" The waiter said: This is because the MKP- Market price of Argentinian beef has increased - that why they charged $92 for each of Ribeye, Argentinian Prime Steak
in 14oz. The quality of food was below average and the price was 3 times hire that in many better luxury Houston downtown restaurants. Will not recommend at all. We will never come back again.
P. S. The price of Argentinian beef is more than 3 times lower compare to American beef including all the transportation expenses. This Patagonia Grill a huge liar.
Way over priced. They don't have a desert menu so don't be shocked when you see your bill. $18 for one crepe with a scoop of ice cream. I am Argentine and the food was passable.
Ventured to Patagonia Grill for dinner tonight for my first meal back in Houston.
I chose the trucha a la parrilla aka grilled Argentine trout. The trout itself was seasoned inside the body which was a revelation. Perfectly cooked and prepared. It came in a bed of sautéed spinach, Roquefort cheese, and mushrooms.
The menu offers a diverse array of Argentine specialities - I was definitely tempted by the morcilla and empanadas.
Being from Argentina, Patagonia Grill and Cafe used to be my favorite restaurant. I've ate here several times in the past and loved the food but haven't been back in almost two years.
My husband and I called for reservations on a Friday night and we were able to get in within 20 minutes. I should have known since this place had no wait and the restaurant was almost empty on a Friday evening that our experience was not going to be pleasant.
The food here was horrible. We ordered the Argentinian Mixed Grilled Meat Platter and asparagus. The meat tasted like it was in the freezer for months and tasted like freezer burn and the chicken was dry. The blood sausage and chorizo were excellent though. The asparagus was $14 and they listed it as "jumbo asparagus" but it was regular size! If I remember correctly they also used to serve you a salad before your meal and they used to give you a small wood tray with warm bread and butter, and now they don't offer either with your meal. We spent almost $200 with tip and we were very disappointed. We will not be returning.
Dined with friends who are regulars. The owner and chef, Sebastian, is as amazing as the food. Any menu choice is a great one. Amazing!
Patagonia is one of my local favorites. The perfect ambiance to wine down after a long day. Friendly service, exceptional and authentic food. Love it every time.
I recently enjoyed lunch here. The beef empanada was golden and flaky, with a delicious filling. The skirt steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender, melting on my tongue. Included was a side of rosemary roasted potatoes, served in small bites. The skin was crispy and seasoned beautifully, with a soft tasty inside. I highly recommend Patagonia Grill when one is looking for a delicious meal.
Our small group came for HRW. There was a live pianist and the ambiance was initially quite cozy/romantic. Unfortunately, the service we received was poor. There were several things: 1) We waited 20 minutes for our orders to be taken and had to flag our waiter down 2) The chimichurri sauce for the steak arrived when we were all almost done with our food 3) When splitting checks, the waiter was downright rude and condescending. When asked if the drinks could be separated, the waiter raised his voice and stated that all the drinks "cost the same". This was a blatant lie as reflected by the menu. As for the food, our consensus was mixed. The empanada and cream of asparagus was good. Both the ribeye/T-bone had good quality meat but was drowned in salt. The alfajores came out dry. Overall, we were just very disappointed.
Went for restaurant week and they won me over! Nice qnd quiet with a romantic vibe. The waiter was attentive and courteous. The food was well seasoned and came out hot. My husband and I Will more than likely be back.
This was a totally amazing experience. From the food, to the live piano, to our amazing waiter. We tried the restaurant week menu. From starter to dessert everything was amazing. Our bar tender made the most amazing Sangaria ever! If I could give this a 6 star I would. We had an amazing date night.
Went for restaurant week with some colleagues and the food and service were excellent.
Had the Beef Empanadas, Prime Beef Tips and Tres Leche, all decilicious.
Will definitely go back.
Food was good even though I expected a bit more. The best thing was definitely the empanadas. A bit of Argentina in Houston!
Getting a table during the week of Father's day was as hard as planning a wedding unless you planned it weeks ahead.
We chose this restaurant as it was available and close. They have an extensive menu and were initially excited.
But upon receiving our NY strip it was medium well as opposed to medium rare, we were dissappointed. It was chewy and stringy with many grizzles. My quails were super salty. I stopped eating and took it home. We test the flan.thinking south American restaurant would have a great flan.and it was super sweet and heavy.
The only good thing that was good last night was the coffee and their chimichuri sauce.
We had Pelegrino to drink and the bill was $250. I will never go back.
I first met the owner at an AIA event and he was amazing! I'm glad I finally got to try out the restaurant and enjoy a greatly cooked steak! Thank you all for the experience and allowing me to celebrate my dad on Father's day!
