Dr Carothers was very kind and respectful while establishing care for my first appointment. He listened intently to any concerns and answered and asked questions in both a thorough and efficient manner. He made me feel like my health mattered, and that he genuinely cared for my well being. We were able to get multiple things figured out in what was just a general yearly checkup. Would recommend him as a PCP to anyone.

Dr. Carothers always takes his time with each patient and is quite thorough. I never feel rushed. His nurses are great, too.

Dr Carothers is a great physician. He takes the time to listen to me. He answers my questions and advises me on best options for my health.

This was my first visit to Dr Carothers, i am nee to the area. I was very well pleased with the visit. He took the time to hear my problems and is looking into other issues that are going on with myself.

I've used Austin diagnostic clinic and Dr. Paul Carothers as my General Physician for about 9 years now for my yearly physicals. He always cares about the patient and takes care and time during the visits.

My previous Primary Care Physician retired and I was nervous about finding a new one. I am so glad I found Dr. Carothers! He is easy to work with, very knowledgeable and the staff and office are great.

I came in for a routine yearly physical which was supposed to be a very simple matter and got a referral to a blood test lab. After I had done my labs the following sequence of unpleasant events unfolded:

1. The lab Dr. Carothers sent me to proved to be an incorrect lab.
2. My blood was still drawn but incompletely - meaning I have to go now to a different lab to complete the testing, so my blood is drawn again. According to Dr. Carothers's nurse the lab was nice enough to me to draw my blood even though I gave them an incorrect referral and shouldn't even gone there at all! "You know", he said "you are lucky they've known Dr. Carothers, so they did you a favor by drawing your blood".
3. The lab that did draw my blood didn't send my results to Dr. Carothers on time and it took a week and a half and three phone calls for them to do so.
4. After Dr. Carothers got my partial lab results no one called me and interpreted them as had been promised to me.
5. I've been calling their office for more than a week - nobody ever returns your calls - they throw you onto the answering machine and it's over.

Bottom line: my partial blood tests have been ready for three weeks now and I still have no idea what they are and what to do next since no one ever answers the phone or calls you back.
Do yourself a favor, do your research, and if you are new to Texas (as I am) looking for a new doctor to take care of you - please look elsewhere.

Doctor Carothers is very knowledgeable and professional. During my appointment’s he’s very patient and takes his time to listen and explain everything. I don’t feel that I’m being rushed though my visits just so he can check the box. I feel like I’m visiting a friend that care about me and my health.

Dr. Carothers always covers all bases. Hears all your complains and is always looking to help you be comfortable and healthy. Never ignores any questions or concerns. Is also knowledgable and easy going Doctor.

I was impressed with the amount of time that the doctor spent with me on the first visit. He went into great detail with my medications and suggested changes the would benefit me.
