Peterson Regional Medical Center reviews
19The best ER experience ever with amazing doctors and staff! I went undiagnosed & sick for about 3-4 years and lost all my weight. My doctors couldn’t find the issue and acted very unprofessionally towards me so I drove an hour to Kerrville and they gave me so much information and helped me with setting up insurance. Im now eating well again and have all my energy back. Im so grateful for this hospital, ya’ll literally saved me.
This is the place to go if you want to get worse. My goal is to go one day without having someone working here screw up.
I had to bring my mother, who is a Type II Diabetic, into the ED two nights ago due to general weakness and nausea. Dr. Larsen was attending to my mother but was flippant, arrogant and non-approachable when we sought out more answers regarding the cause of her weakness and low glucose. If you need to go to the ED it might be best to review the ED physician on call first.
My special need son had bad abdominal pain after taking trash out to the street. He had a bad hernia that had ruptured on the lower belly. We took him to the ER and they immediately took care of him. The staff were great and the RN's, Monica and Tammy took extremely care of my son. Ct Scan showed that my sons hernia had ruptured. Dr. Berg came in and immediately began to push his intestines back into the cavity wall. 3 morphine shots and my son was still in pain. After 30 minutes, Dr Berg had successfully pushed it back in. Pain subsided immediately. My son still needs surgery, but he does not an emergency surgery. Thank you, to all the staff and Doctor's Berg and Livingston. Best experience we had in a ER hospital.
I was told by the nurses station that there was a specific surgeon on-call/on-duty, so I drove an hour to get service to remove a food item lodged in my esophagus.
After 2 hours of additional procedures, I was informed that there wasn't a surgeon available.
Oh well, have a nice day.
I was recently hospitalized for six days at Peterson Regional. I can honestly say that this is the best hospital I have ever been to. The staff and doctors were first class, and I received personalized, kind, and attentive care. The staff even found an unrelated condition while I was there that they treated me for. A few days after going home I received a card in the mail that all the nurses signed. I will definitely be back if I need hospital care.
My mother was in this hospital for 3 weeks. She was in the ER, 3 west and the rehab. Everyone was fabulous …kind and caring.
I got back in November. Went in to rhe ER having trouble breathing, my breathing was rattling and coughing up green goo. The doctor only came close to me once, he put the stethoscope to my chest from arms length for maybe three seconds then left.
I was then discharged, no meds, no assistance what so ever for my breathing. Went to the hospital in new braunfels and was diagnosed with phenomenon. Peterson medical center does not care about their patients, only dollar sings. I could have died with medical assistance. The nurses and techs are great the doctors are not doctors the are just looking to get paid and if you are not covered or your medical insurances is not the greatest good luck.
Oh and I am discussing thing's with legal council to see what my options are. If you have been victim to their shotty care. Talk to a lawyer.
Went to ER with high fever and cough. Was given the best care and well taken care of. Even while waiting on room in hospital was checked on and kept comfortable. When transferred to the third floor Friday night, was greeted and well informed of what was going to happen and all that stuff. Was there for almost 6 days, entire staff was wonderful, could not have been taken better care of. I want to give the ER staff and 3rd floor staff a big hug and thank you.

If you enjoy massive medical bills, hate being able to pay those bills online in a convenient fashion using a working patient portal, and enjoy Dr. Toloza arguing with you about calling a specialist to the ER when she isn't able to address a potentially life threatening problem that SHE caused; Peterson Regional Medical Center is the place for you.
An absolute bottom of the barrel experience. The only redeeming part of my 2 trips was a supremely kind nurse whose name I sadly cannot recall, who held my shoulder and told me I would get through it whilst Dr. Ramirez (a local ENT specialist) cauterized my nose following an ER doctor improperly removing nasal packing, resulting in massive bleeding which the ER then CHARGED ME FOR.
My mom came in for an outpatient pulmonary procedure and received the BEST care. All the staff were so nice and professional, especially her attending nurse Shannon S, who couldn't have been any sweeter, thoughtful and patient with my mom and all of us who were with her.
Severe alcohol withdrawel medicine 2 hours late food 2 hours late rolled on floor never even checked on me suicide watch is a joke they laugh when people die its unbelievable 2 code blues ans she was jokingly saying hey must be cardiac arrest day.
If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is ridiculous. Don't come here if you wanna actually want to get treatment for what's wrong w you. I had symptoms of pneumonia but yet my chest x-rays showed nothing but next day I go to a med clinic and had a huge cloud that couldn't be missed in my left lung. My husband just dealt w the same thing, had a cough for 3 weeks etc. Just got an xray done by these clowns and all was good apparently but can't breathe, coughing up fluids etc went to a med clinic in San Antonio and had pneumonia. Surprise surprise. This is the worst hospital you can go to.
This hospital is absolutely flourishing with kind, patient, knowledgeable staff. From Doctors to Custodians, respectful compassionate and thorough.
Extremely professional in all areas including billing! My account was overpaid after insurance- they issued a check immediately. Far superior to Hill Country Memorial!
Discharged a couple hours ago from the ER. Was only there a couple hours with abdominal pain, fever, and fatigue persisting for a week.
Blood work negative, covid negative, flu negative. Told I did not have an infection. I asked about what is causing fever, told normal temperature, sore muscles.
Prescribed no antibiotics or fever reducer, steadily rising.
Only saw a nurse practitioner and no doctor.
Looking forward to the hefty bill. I rarely go to the hospital. Wish I could've gotten the help I sought. I'm absolutely miserable.
If I could, I would give this hospital 0 stars. My daughters were showing symptoms of the flu and were brought here because the urgent care near by was booked. As soon as they got there, we were asked if we were on Medicaid. That was assumptive and may have been discriminatory based on my children's skin tone. When they went back, Dr. Toloza came in briefly and checked each child's ears and we had to ask the doctor to check one of their lungs since they have been coughing. She briefly checked and said they were clear. Ok. So then the doctor took my two teen girls back to check them and asked both if they were pregnant, they both said no and she proceeded to say, "Good job" and gave one of them a high five. REALLY? ! - that's not the best part. The doctor received a request from grandma to please test for the flu, since all she did was look at their ears and the nurse checked for fevers, which one of them had. The doctor refused to test all of them for flu explaining, "If one of them has it, then they all have it. " after constant back and forth of asking for them to be tested, the doctor continuously refused treatment and also refused to prescribe Tamiflu or any other medication to ease the suffering that my children were going through. SHE IS GETTING PAID BY MY INSURANCE FOR DENIAL OF CARE. I did put in a formal complaint on this doctor. She is not thorough and has awful bedside manner. She should not be practicing! She is a reflection of the hospital. And in checking the claims, they LIED and put that they swabbed the kids!
Worst hospital ever with some of the rudest doctors and nurses and other staff. I was in hospital for a week and they never gave me my normal meds that I asked for. Just an all round bad experience. Wish my insurance covered other places close to where I live, unfortunately this is the closest. Definitely would NOT recommend.
I mean it was good service and hospitality but I was there for literally three hours and it is the most expensive hospital bill I’ve ever gotten. I went to a hospital in Dallas for two nights and three days and my bill is almost $2000 cheaper than this bill. I applied for financial assistance and was denied because I don’t live in the area which is ridiculous. Now I have an option of self pay for $2000 and I’m honestly regretting even coming in I should’ve just dealt with the pain.
