Pho Ga La Chanh reviews
17The grilled pork banh mi is so delicious, and we love the Thai tea also. I am coming back to try more of this extensive menu!
This place is amazing. Don’t let the exterior fool you. It may not be the most extravagant setting, but the food is delicious. The customer service is great and so friendly. I’ll definitely be back!
I ordered 1 phở gà and 1 cháo gà and the price came out around $30. I understand they have to raise the price to counter inflation but I believe like most restaurants in the area they are taking advantage of the situation and over inflating their price. The food quality is ok at best but definitely not worth the price.
I loved the pho here, by far the best place I've visited in Houston and I'm definitely coming back for your cha gio! Staff was awsome and very friendly, I felt like I was family in there.
If you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant with rich, tasty and heartwarming food then you're in the right place.
Authentic light, airy and fresh Bún Suông. Hole in a wall authentic Vietnamese eatery that is perfect for my taste.
I found it to be pricey like the other review. With that price, I think you should come late when other restaurants has been closed. So you may think it’s worth. Otherwise, there are plenty better and cheaper options to go for. So the price is the breaking point for us.
About the food, I ordered the dishes that highly recommended from the server - Bun Suong (B1) and Bun Dau Mam Tom. We’ve never tried Bun Suong before, so cannot say it’s good or bad. Just not our preference, we won’t order it again. Bun Dau Mam Tom is around $17, the ingredients themselves are fresh. However, they are not fully enough for a combo like other restaurants. So it is definitely expensive for that much food. About the drink, we ordered Dua Tac (Coconut Kumquat), it is very tasty for about $7-$8.
Some people call it “hidden gem” is exaggerating to me. I think I know why it’s empty.
Again, come here if you have no other options for a late night dinner/snack; and be aware of the price.
The owner are super nice and friendly, open late and great spot for some hu tieu mi, I love the gi Tieu mi kho here.
It was my first time there and I enjoyed it very much! I ordered the B1, R1 and the kumquat coconut lemonade. Food and service was excellent! I will be back.:)
Had far right extremist blasting on TV and were out of all beef - several other better places to get pho within a mile.
Cháo và phở gà ăn rất ngon. Nước chấm vừa miệng. If the owner is a little more friendly I think they could get more patrons.
My favorite place for bun suong! Best shrimp balls ever.
Bun day mam tom hits home for me!
The chicken salad is on point
& best of all, my current obsession where I'll stop by on a daily basis. Their lemongrass limeade
The customer service is on point too!
Great food and Very clean place!
They open till 12pm and owner was very nice to suggest off menu items. The chicken porridge was authentic and tasty. Also tried their kumquat coconut drink
It's been 5 years traveling back n forth from USA to Canada & India.
Houston is my hometown in USA.tried pho at so many places. So many cities and states.
The Chicken pho (dark meat- drumstick meat) is very delicious.compared to all the pho that I tried at many restaurants.
Meat is well cooked.taste is delicious.very good quantity.
If not mistaken.they are open till 12 midnight.
It was a midnight craving for Pho that led me to this place at 11.30 in the night.
The restaurant has a very traditional ambiance.
Cool lighting.
The owner was polite while taking the order.
Service was quick
Food Awesome. Thanks keep it up.
This place is such a hidden gem. Food is very flavorful and authentic. Place is clean, customer service is on point, plenty of parking in the front. Sadly, it's nearly impossible to see the restaurant from the busy Bellaire Street so it seems always empty even though their foods are amazing and really fresh. That's why I didn't know about this place until Phanh Ky moved next to them. I ordered chewy rice noodle soup (hu tieu dai) which I rarely see any other restaurants in Houston offered this dish. It was surprisingly good. Their chicken dish also looks very appealing. It tastes fantastic too: moist and tasty. Chicken with skin on, that's how you know how authentic the foods are, but I figured it may throw some people off. Anyways, highly highly recommended!
I got the dry chicken pho and my wife got the bun suong. They are both very good and authentic, especially the bun suong. My only minor complaint would be we asked for ice water and got luke warm water instead.
It’s a shame this place always seems empty when I visit. The Vietnamese food here is a little different than what a lot of folks might be used to, but I think serving slightly different Vietnamese recipes from what everyone else is serving is a great thing! For example, Lemongrass Limeade sounded incredibly strange to me, but I tried it anyways and was delighted at how well those flavors go together. The drink is very refreshing and I tend to order more than just one! I can only speculate, but the chicken used in their dishes appears to be local, perhaps free-range? It doesn’t look or taste like the hormone induced beasts we get from the typical American grocery store. Every chicken dish I’ve tried has a clean chicken flavor and they are always moist because they aren’t over cooked! Even their rice in their chicken rice dish has a little something special going on in the flavor department. It’s hard to see this restaurant from the street because their tucked way in the back corner. I’d still highly suggest giving this place a try at least one.
