Middle eastern style grocery, deli and bakery. Amazing selection of baklava and delicious treats. Olives, olive oils and fresh seafood market. I love this store
If you want hard to find specialty foods, mainly Mediterranean, exquisite cheese, delicious and well cut butchered lamb and goat, premade salads like baby octopus (my favorite), hummus, olive and soforth then this is the place to go. Halal meats, fresh baked on site breads. Teas of every taste as well as coffees. Large selection of tree nuts. It's more of an emporium than anything. Just go in and browse. Conveniently located on the north side of Westheimer between Kirkwood and Dairy Ashford in the far right corner of the square. You won't be disappointed, trust me. Tell 'em Tyger sent you.
Phoenicia Specialty Foods is the best place in town to buy an assortment of Mediterranean type items you might not find at other stores. Of note for me is the daily baked pita bread and the fantastic assortment of beans such as "Egyptian style" etc.
Love stopping by Phoenicia to pick up groceries and prepared food when visiting Houston. I always spend a lot of time there browsing the isles and their ready made food and desserts are better than most restaurants in the area, both in flavor and especially in price. Hope you open a Phoenicia soon in San Antonio!
Phoenicia is the best (and often only) place to ship for delicacies from around the world. They always have an amazing selection of product, great customer service and good prices. I have been shopping here for over 15 years, and keep sending people who haven't discovered it yet.
The only down side is not being able to eat everything! You have to stop in and find a treat!
Middle eastern market. Really like this place that also have halal options deli, halal sandwich etc. This place is well known for their pita bread.
I cannot express to you enough how you need to come here with your family. It is so wonderful just the smell alone is enough to make you want to come back
