What a rip off. I took my shoes to be cleaned up and the guy quoted me $70 per shoe just to clean them up no repairs or anything. Wow are you kidding me? Very rude too and arrogant.

Extremely disappointed in Plano Shoe Repair. After taking a pair of boots in to be cleaned, we returned to pick them up and they had been dyed much dark than their original color. Although the product was not what we expected, we took the boots as the color change was blamed on the prior manager. The boots were then worn once and the dye flaked off after an hour of wear. We took the boots back to the shop, they dyed them again, this time closer to the original color. Boots were then worn again for a few hours and cracks began to appear in the dye job. We took the shoes back to the store. After almost 4 months and failure to return our call, we picked up the shoes. Additional dye had been slapped onto the shoes, cracks are still evident. The manager, Chris was rude and told us he had already taken the shoes back twice as a “courtesy. ” The boots were initially brought in for a cleaning and the company chose to dye them and failed to correct their poor craftsmanship. Excuses were made on behalf of changes in management and the quality of the leather. It was evident that the manager knew the work on the boots was not done well, but hurried us out of his store without any compensation.

If I could leave 0 stars I would, but I have to at least leave 1. This man is so rude and disrespectful and does not care about his customer at all. I put the shoe on after receiving it back and I could not walk in it. And I paid $150 for this. He told me they couldn’t do anything further and to call “corporate” but said “they won’t do anything for you either. ” I will never be back.

*Update*
After posting this review the owner, Carroll Kelly, called my husband to scream and yell at him over the phone and to try to get me to delete my online review. He said I was wrong for ruining the shoes to begin with and that there was nothing they could have done. If that was the case, I wish they would have told me that when I first dropped them off. The owner never offered to help with the issue or ask how we can resolve this. Instead, he just wanted me to remove my review. I have never witnessed such an unprofessional way of handling business.

Came in hoping for a quick shoe shine and was not disappointed. Even though they were busy they took the to shine up my shoes an help me with some cleaner.

Terrible shoe repair. The general manager was completely rude to my wife and I and would not refund us for the terrible shoe repair.

Excellent quality work. The only reason not five stars is the shoes were not polished when they were returned, but that could have just been my expectation.

Plano Shoe Repair / Austin Shoe Hospital, great job fixing my shoes. The canvas on my Jordans were stained by food coloring and they were able to restore its original color.

However… (where 2 stars come off)

My shoes were lost for nearly a year since my case wasn’t escalated but the owner (Carroll Kelly) swiftly tracked my shoes down in their other DFW location within 24hrs after I wrote this review using the “Request for quote“ slip I fortunately kept.

In summer 2022 they had an issue with incompetent staff (Edna the manager, & their former cobbler who sent my shoe to the wrong store) but I’m pleased to hear they’ve since been replaced. Chris (the new manager) seems cool and takes pride in his skillset & client interactions so I hope he continues to do so for the sake of their brand’s reputation in my eyes.

Now I have 2 pairs of the same $250 sneakers but I’m thrilled to have them back.

They ruined my Louis Vuitton Sandals and boots - I left messages to the owner have yet to hear back from anyone! Awful place they overcharge and do an awful job!

they have had my LV sandals for almost a year now- and this owner could care less - not even a call!

Absolutely Awesome! I had a 1" rip in the sleeve of a $500 Italian soft leather coat. Upon picking up the product I had to search for the repair spot as it was barely visible due to their very high quality work. Add the very respectful and kind service, the reasonable pricing and you'll see why I went home to bring back other items as this is a rare business that you can trust!

Brought shoes in for new soles and a recommendation was made that the leather needed to be dyed to make them look as good as new. I assumed the colour would be the same and not orange. I requested them to please re dye them to the original colour as I was not happy and was told that this would be a new ticket with a new charge even though they agree the shoes are orange. I now have orange shoes, the total amount including the new charge I would have paid to get the shoes back to the original tan colour would be the cost of a new pair. Really dissatisfied and disappointed at the service received.

Poor customer service, lack of follow through, and abysmal work.

I dropped off a pair of boots to have the heels replaced on them. I was quoted a cost to replace the heels and clean the boots and I was told that it would take a week to complete and that I would receive a text message when they were ready. About a week and a half goes by and I called to check on them. They originally could not find my order based on my phone number nor the ticket number. They finally located the ticket and I was told that they have not been completed yet and that they would text when it was. A day or two later they call and tell me that there would be an additional cost to complete the repair, so I give them the go ahead to continue. FOUR weeks after I originally dropped off my boots, I contacted them AGAIN to check on the repair. Once again they could not locate my ticket with my phone number, which they took several times. They took my information and said they would look into and call me back. The next day they called back and shockingly told me that they were ready. I stop by to pick them up and the work was just okay. There was some material sticking out of the side of the heel that I'm worried may get caught and tear off. The employee at the counter really didn't seem to care or address my concerns. On top of that, the boots were NOT cleaned as I had requested. Again, the employee really didn't care that they were not cleaned as requested and took the charge off for that service.

Very disappointed in the service and lack of care I was shown. Definitely will not be going back for any future services.
