Poppa Burger, Houston TX

I ordered a poppas burger with bacon and cheese. I got no bacon and no cheese. The fries were cooked perfectly but was bland. No salt. The burger patty didn't taste like real meat at ALL. It tasted like a cross between a veggie and soy burger. NOOOOOOOO SEASONING AT ALL. It wasn't all that great and I won't be going back. Those of u that do, watch your order. I wouldn't trust them remaking my order.
U want that real old fashioned burger and fries? Try Cream Burger. They've been around since I was a kin and the food still taste the same. U get bigger, flavorful, juicy burgers and fried. Still at a low price. The soft serve ice cream is the bomb.

The best food after you leave the bars! We enjoyed burgers, shrimp, fries.but nothing was better than the cheesesticks!

I prefer to go here instead of chain restaurant and pay over $10 for burger and fries. Only one location but burgers are good. Fries ok

The meat… was disgusting very nice people but it wasn’t hitting! Fries.no seasoning but came with ketchup already on them

Cheap prices but as far as "Taste/Flavor" the guest I brought with me were un impressed, big let down, because I actually like the place, but as for today November 18 2021 my frys came out hard and my burger was in deed flavorless, my friends pointed out that maybe I just like the prices

It is a lil expensive as it's not freshly made. But still happy it's open after all these years and come once in a while for memories of when my father use to bring us here.

Everything was good. The burgers where so juicy and for the price I can't complain. Got 2 burgers 2 french fries and chili and cheese fries for only $17

This is one of my favorite places. They're cash only and only have outdoor seating but they are open 24/7. I recommend the carnitas torta but everything on their menu is fairly priced and pretty tasty. They've been around for forever and they're worth checking out.

Been going here since freshman year at Houston can and Davis but they changed there meat I want last weekend and it tasted like cheap store bought pre-made patties ima try one more time and that's it

They're open 24 hours if you want something to eat after partying in the club need to, go ahead but there's the homeless who might want a bite.

The burger and cheese fries were ok. This spot was the only thing open. I probably wouldn't go back. Cheap and convenient so ill give it 3 stars.

Fun and friendly place to go with family. They have mini burgers and other quick bites on the go. Service was pretty fast.

I have been going to Poppa Burger since I was a teenager. Over 50 years now! I love their food. But just today I stopped by. Picked up lunch. For myself n coworker. Grilled cheese is awesome. So are soft carnita tacos. They are the bomb. But you switched out French fries from shoestring to regular French fries. And you have always had shoestring fries. I hope you change them back to shoestring fries. Because they were also the bomb! Poppa Burger management I hope you change back to shoestring fries. Thank you! Concerned customer!

Old timey burger joint that's been a staple in this city for a long time.

The burgers are old school and with that in mind I would say they are pretty good and Uber inexpensive!

Staff was friendly, the view is great, the area is being gentrified (it's still transitional with lots of homeless around, but the metro rail zings by above), and with an adjustment of expectations I was pleased with my meal.

I'd say it's different than Champs or Bases, but in similar fashion it goes back to a time way before I was born. A simple and uncomplicated time (or so we tend to think). Just like their burgers.

Not the best food.rude service. I paid with a $20 bill and didn't have anything other money on me. The counter guy gave me a foreign coin and then argued that he didn't give it me when I added some fries to my order and tried to pay with the change he had just handed me. I guess since he knew the coin he handed me was foreign he was ready to decline it when I added to my order and tried to pay with the change he gave me. The place looks dirty and has people loitering around. Not worth it.

This place is a hidden gem and the stay open 24 hours, they are very inexpensive and there food is fast and taste very good
