Port Royal Ocean Resort & Conference Center reviews
24I really like this resort. The rooms are beautiful and the view from the balcony is gorgeous. I particularly like that it is a family-friendly resort. Also, the pool is awesome! It's so big and has various areas of differing depths. If you go to the pool, slip down the water slide because it is so much fun.
These condos are in Very poor condition for the price/added fees we were charged and they are not pet friendly at all. I could express my sincere disappointment, but I was taught if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything. It’s a shame, because these condos were very nice once upon a time. I’ll never go back.
Resort was in good shape. They are still working on some things after the hurricane, but overall everything was great.
The stay was overall very pleasant. But I have a few critic-its: our TV was not working but that was quickly fixed. The exterior looks run down. And we have had problems with booking. The rooms and pool are nice but until the exterior is re-painted: cleaned I cannot give more than 3
stars.
Awesome staff, location, and facilities had a great time there with the fam. Special shout out to kelby, savanah, and Lara for putting up with my pool shenanigans;) you guys made it that much more fun!
Me, my family and friends stayed at Port Royal over the weekend. Honestly it was the dirtiest, saddest place I have ever stayed in for a vacation. We were initially very excited because of the former reputation of this establishment. We believed it would be a true first class resort as advertised. We were shocked when driving in to find the check-in & restaurant are still in tents & restrooms reside in a trailer. The pictures on your website show its former glory not the torn up gloomy state that it’s in. The former white exterior is filthy inside and out (nothing a full time power washer & paint wouldn’t fix), siding on the rooftop is flapping in the wind over looking the pool as if the hurricane just occurred. One of the elevators is out of order and the other should be. We had to manipulate the door just to get it to close! The entry door to the condo was something I would expect to see in some sort of a government run shelter. The inside of the condo itself was ill equipped with basic kitchen tools, really absolute junk! The furniture was falling apart and one of the lounge chairs on the patio was so rotten it actually broke upon sitting in it. I could go on but there is simply to much wrong to recall for the $$$ we spent!
I honestly am in shock that 2 years after the hurricane the resort is still in shambles. I am in even more shock that your advertisements and website is deceptive. The cost of our stay was completely ridiculous for the accommodations! We wont be back!
This is a great place severely damaged by Harvey. They are working very hard to make the needed repairs. The pool is in great shape, fully functional and wonderful. The rooms are works in progress but clean and comfortable. They have food service reasonably priced, and the kitchens in the condos are working.
Tore up from hurricane a year ago. Bit pool is amazing and they have most of their stuff cleaned up
While they're still recovering from last year's hurricane, they are still providing a VERY enjoyable place to stay. My favorite part of the hotel, the pool, is as great as ever and the customer service is top-notch.
Horrible accomodations. Total rip off. There are hotels with less damage not even open. Quit blaming hurricane Harvey for your greed
We come here every year and was worried they might not have been fully recovered from the hurricane season but we were pleasantly surprised to see they were back entirely!
Great as always. Glad we can be here for their recovery process. They have come so far and I feel their customer service is amazing considering what they are going through. They make people feel so welcomed as if nothing horrendous has happened which is amazing. Thanks Port Royal for being the great place we love
We received excellent service at Port Royal. They have done an amazing job getting the resort guest-ready this summer!
Absolutely wonderful! Cant believe how much they have done repair wise since Hurricane Harvey! Staff is wonder as is the atmosphere.
I've always been a regular here. The entire family loves it. After Hurricane Harvey, not all units are open and there is still a ton of construction going on (June 2018), but management has brought in food trucks, made a temporary office, and they are going out of there way with customer service. Still a favorite with the family.
As of July 2018, Port Royal is still being repaired from the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. There were many rooms that are not ready and check in was not smooth like it has been in the past. I wish I had been informed completely of the damage before booking the all inclusive. Plus no one knew exactly how the all inclusive worked when we arrived. It wasn't my best stay there but once it's back to normal I will definitely return.
Would give it no stars if I could. They overbooked based on a construction timeline, gave priority to people who booked AFTER us, and proceeded to call us the day before we were supposed to check in to tell us they were overbooked. Never going to book here again!
Customer service in reservation is horrible. After trying to speak with the Representative, I spoke with manager Melissa Dixon and was very rude.
We did have some issue getting a room when at arrival but staff helped us out and was able to get what we needed with some additional accommodations. The pool is amazing with quick access to the beach. The room was OK but the only that will be used for is sleeping. Can't wait to see what it will look like after they finish rebuilding due to the hurricane damage.
It's still under construction. Woke up at 8am to crews working on the roof above us and they want to charge full price. This is the days inn of resorts
