Portteus Psychiatry Group reviews
6I can’t believe anyone would willingly put their child or themselves through this literal house of horror. This doctor and his crew completely brainwash you into paying your life savings in order to further damage people. Stay away from this monster, and his goons.
I’ve seen what this man has done to his own children and the mother of his children. Be sure you do your research and know exactly who this person is. Do not take your children to see this man in any way. Use discernment, stand up for the truth no matter what, our children are not for sale.
Dr Portteus is the best in his field! He does have a Yale education and was the former child psych director at Texas Children’s. He does not accept insurance, so it is costly, but WORTH it! We’ve been through a slew of psychiatrists, and although they may be cheaper- you can’t put a price or mental/emotional stability. Myself and two of my children have been seeing him for 5 years, and have complicated diagnoses. He has changed our lives and I would never see another psychiatrist besides him. He is brilliant, kind, patient, and actually respects parents who “do their research”, and values YOUR input and feedback. We are so thankful for him and I’m not sure we’d “be ok” without him. Denise, his office manger, is an absolute doll; super kind, compassionate, and an excellent communicator. Thank you to Dr Portteus, Denise, and his entire staff.
They are in the people business, but don’t know how to accommodate the people that keep them in business. A shame.
Upon my first visit to Dr. Portteus’s office, I found myself double booked by his office staff. How unprofessional? I was told to go home and that they would reschedule my appt. A big let down for someone who has extreme trouble leaving their house anyway. This should have been a red flag as to find another psychiatrist, but I gave his staff and him the benefit of my doubts.
During my second appointment with Dr. Portteus, medication was prescribed in different doses than I had previously taken, yet Dr. Portteus discussed zero changes with me in our session. He simply sent me on my way. It wasn’t until I got to the pharmacy that I noticed these changes. I’m giving this doctor 1 star because I spent $1,000 during my two visits (three if you count the time I arrived only to be double booked) with no positive changes, poor communication/strategy, unorganized office staff, and seemingly no interest by Dr. Portteus in helping me.
