Choose carefully my friends. I am 68 years old. I hired Powell Law Firm in 2021. When I described my situation, (no real property, (per se), adult children), my attorneys described my case as a slam dunk. I disagreed with them as I knew my spouse to be an unreasonable scrapper. After several months of failed negotiation, we went to mediation. While there, my attorney seemed to be in Lala land. Fortunately, (for me) the night before, I had scribbled some notes (little things like, Bank accounts, financial firms, account numbers, account values) on a legal pad, and this is what she referenced during the mediation. (On a lighter side, I suggest watching Two and a half Men, the one where Heather Locklear represents Alan in his divorce from Judith). I received what I thought was a fair settlement, and when I went in to sign my paperwork, found that my attorney was no longer employed with the firm. Ms. Powell was personally finishing up my case. Trying to get my settlement resolved over the next 16 months, was HELL! My ex pretty much ignored the terms of the decree.attempting to sell my personal belongings through an estate sale company. In frustration, I reached out to Ms. Powell for assistance, she informed me that there was little she could (would) do because she no longer represented me. I became increasingly frustrated as it appeared that my $7000.00 decree was worthless. I did convince Ms. Powell to reach out to the opposing attorney, but generally, she told me her emails were going unanswered, (I suggested picking up the phone and trying to call her). To resolve my problem, Ms. Powell told me I would have to file an enforcement, and she would (could) do it for a $5000.00 retainer. Imagine that. Paying 5k to enforce the decree that she had already obtained for me. Seeking advice, I contacted Tarrant County free legal aid. They were surprised that I had signed the decree before the terms of the settlement had been finalized. I received advice from a paralegal, (from another firm), and finally got my matter resolved. As a senior citizen on a fixed income, this divorce cost me a lot of money that I didn't have, way to much stress and frustration, largely due to the way my case was handled! Before you sign, make sure you know what you are getting. Don't presume anything! These people are NOT your friends! Ask lots of questions! Get it in writing! Best of luck!

The Texas location even has a room dedicated to employees children who at times needed to go to work with their parent. This was such a relief at times, when a sitter cancelled last minute. If our child (ren) had a school function during a normal work day, they allowed their employees to take time off to join them. Other benefits included extended time off during holidays, lots of personal vacation time, fully funded family vacations and cruises. Lauren knows that happy employees make for great employees.

These people have internal issues that the consumer is not aware of. Horrible communication! Took weeks just to get a respond for a simple question via email. They even have the audacity to charge you for every email and phone call. I got tired of waiting on them that I stopped making calls and sending emails to not get charge. They where however super prompt to send you an invoice to charge you. I kept seeing seeing charges for emails and calls that I did not even sent or replied too. This law firm is money hungry and will try to charge you for every small thing. I’m surprised they never charged me for breathing while contacting them. I had a simple divorce with the only one asset to be divided between both parties that where amicable. They took a year and a half to resolve such a simple issue and charged me over $8000 for it. A lot of charges on my invoice said miscellaneous? You can’t even tell a client what those charges are for? Overall horrible experience. I would take your hard earned money somewhere with a firm that actually cares about your best interest and goes above and beyond to take care of you. The only person in the entire firm that was compassionate and helpful was Ms. Sherley.

Lauren Powell, and Janna and their entire team made what was a very large and anxiety filled ordeal go smooth as could be in times when I was worried they let me know they had my back 100%! I cannot thank them enough for their tireless work and professionalism and making me feel comfortable even though I was 1500 miles away! Both me and my family thank you for making it seamless. I highly recommend and encourage you to use there services as they are the best there is! I shopped around and not one single attorney knew what was going on with my complex child support case until I called Powell law offices immediately Lauren Powell told me she can handle it and as far as the outcome bam! My now ex-husband went bats%^t crazy after he turned 40 and blindsided my kids and I and left our family. Apparently being with an ugly, homewrecking floozy who's a decade older than his wife/partner of TWENTY YEARS was more appealing. Seriously, whenever someone I knew saw a picture of this broad they stared in disbelief and would ask me, "He left YOU for HER? " Needless to say, I discovered that I needed a law firm that could not only represent me during my divorce but could also have empathy for my situation. Nicole Ward and everyone else in the firm took the time to explain things to me and held my hand during the times I had trouble holding it together. I am very grateful for all of their help during the worst time of my life. A huge part of the reason I didn't end up as a Dateline special was due to the help and compassion they all gave me. I'd recommend the firm to anyone who wants to be represented by a solid firm that doesn't mess around and isn't afraid to fight for their clients.
