Italian Restaurant Prego reviews
19Great food and service especially since we showed up with a group of 12 with no reservation. Had a great night.
Amazing place and delicious food. Carbonara was divine while the gardenside cocktail was fresh.
We had reservations and were seated right away. Service was pretty good. We were frankly a little disappointed in the food. My wife had spaghetti vongole. The flavor was a bit "off" for both of us which we agreed was probably due to over carmalized onions. I had one of the specials, which was gulf shrimp with pasta and a variety of veggies. The shrimp were good, but I wasn't to keen on the sauce. We had tiramisu for dessert which was terrific. Atmosphere at this cozy restaurant was likewise quite nice. Overall, somewhere between two and three stars for us.
A favorite of mine for Italian, they have their own style. It's all good stuff, super friendly staff. Nice cosy spot. Consistently great.
I have been coming to Salento since I was a baby with my mom! Always a classic when I’m in town. Kind staff and chill European vibe, right in the heart of rice village. Their over night oats are so good
We were only in for an appetizer and a drink and left very pleased with the visit. Bar tender was quick and drinks were yummy. Also ordered the crab fingers and they were excellent. Place was clean and atmosphere was very calm and child free. A good place to relax after work and eat a good meal.
My wife and I went there today it was over all good expect got my wife’s dish her salmon was raw she had to eat around it wasn’t pleased with it
My first time here. I really enjoyed it. The service was amazing. The server we had was really friendly and attentive to us. Ordered a strawberry lemonade and was really good.
Fabulous food. Great selection of Italian classics and delicious specials. Highly recommend the carbonara and the gnocchi. We will be back!
After reading reviews I had higher expectations for this place. We started off by asking recommendations from our server who said the calamari was their top seller and the crab cakes were not. The crab cakes were awesome and the calamari was average. Mista salad was bland, veal was chewy, and the risotto had no flavor. However the red snapper was delicious! The breading was light yet crunchy. I will be back to try a few more things on the menu before giving up or recommending to others.
Good food, very basic decor and not much of atmosphere in this place. Our server was very good, friendly, and accommodating.
Menu is on the pricy side.
Atmosphere: chill, comfortable, clean, friendly, cute outdoor seating for when it's not a toasty hot day.
Food.
Bread: cold, tasted delicious, but I prefer warm bread. Came w olive oil garlic red pepper flakes and basil. It is extremely garlicky, so for garlic lovers like myself, it's the dream. If you hate garlic, don't eat it. The olive oil is rich and delicious. I definitely overate the bread bc of the olive oil.
Red pepper soup: amazing, order it - big wow. It's wonderful. Dip the bread too.
Polla La griglio. Or something like that. It was a flat chicken with some paste on top. The chicken was so thin that it couldn't be juicy. It smelled good though. The pasta was good except I'd prefer a fettuccine rather than cappello or whatever it's called. The spinach was also good. It was kind of a bland dish and didn't really wow me.
I'm not sure if I'd go back again. If I did, I'd go just for the soup.
Prego is a favorite in our house, and the food and service are consistently good. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, and they just added a large patio. Try the mista salad and egg plant parmesan!
I am so unhappy updating this review, but I can no longer recommend Prego. Our last visit was a disaster, with strange specials combos (panko crusted halibut with a sweet, tropical salsa-yum- paired with soggy, flavorless, heavy and vaguely German cabbage and potatoes.) The pasta was from a box, not fresh, as it used to be, and overcooked to mush. The plating was very Luby’s-on-a-bad-day. The staff and service, though, are still on point, but can’t overcome what’s coming out of the kitchen. What happened, Prego? ? So sad.
Absolutely pitch perfect neighborhood Italian gem. Prego has a long history of making fresh pasta daily and serving it with the freshest, local, seasonal ingredients. A wait staff that has been loyal to the restaurant for decades adds a warm, homey feel to the place that is priceless.
Was wandering around the village looking for a place to eat outside and found this place. Calamari was excellent stater and the mushroom risotto was very yummy my gal pal had the lasagna very tasty also. Htown has lacked for good Italian food at a good price. Will have to come back to try the desserts.
I go to the nearby Starbucks a lot and notice that this place is always so busy, so I decided to give it a try for lunch on a Saturday. I didn't like the vibe, very outdated.the food was average.the bread was cold and doughy, seemed like it was old.
Amazing service, excellent food, and affordable prices.
Even though the Restaurant is quite small and in the busy Rice Village, it makes up for it, with friendly service, and delicious food.we tried the Lasagna, veal marsala, and Fettucine alfredo, I highly recommend all three, you can tell right away that everything is made fresh, and I really like the fact that they are very flexible with addon's and substitutions on the menu. A special thanks to Daniel, Carlos for the amazing service!
Did our anniversary lunch here. Food was amazing, went with daily specials. Pork chop tenderized, with arugula salad, egg on top and mashed potatoes. Red snapper with lump crab on top, spinach and penne on the side. For desert, tiramasu and Italian cream cake with expresso. Service was awesome too, very friendly.
Very nice meal. I ate at the bar so the bartender was my waiter - he knew the food menu flawlessly and even helped customize a dish for me.
