Pure Barre reviews
4Pure Barre Las Colinas has the absolute best staff. The instructors are willing to do anything and everything to make you feel comfortable in class. LOVE this studio. It has become home for me!
I belonged to this studio for over a year. In August of 2022, I informed the front desk staff that I was moving to South Carolina and to end my membership. The individual informed me she would take care of it. I moved and joined the PB studio in SC. Subsequently, I learned that the Las Colinas studio continued to charge me monthly for over a year. I contacted the studio and requested a refund. I was told there would be no refund, that the contract they use requires an email requesting and end of membership. I again explained that I gave my notice to the desk staff and was informed that my membership would be cancelled, My study of business law, is that a verbal contract is also a binding contract. The studio manager refused to provide a refund of 12 months of unauthorized charges @ $159 per month. Clearly, I gave my notice, never attended another class and joined a franchise studio in SC. The studio clearly doesn’t follow best business practices and their only objective is to have individuals sign contracts to which they bind them to even when notice of cancellation is given. I would warn anyone looking to join this studio to be weary of their integrity, lack of transparency and poor business practices. $1908 is a scandalous amount of unauthorized charges. And I do not want to hear the overused rhetoric of your definition of a contract.
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the experience I had at Pure Barre.
I took the Black Friday promotion, which offered a three-month membership for approximately $130 per month. However, when I provided my card and signed on the screen, I was never informed that I was signing a contract that obligated me to pay for the full three months, regardless of whether or not I liked the classes. It was only days later that I discovered this information.
On my first day of class, I arrived two minutes late for a scheduled stretching class and was not allowed to join the class due to the strict arrival time policy. This policy was not clearly stated in the marketing materials, and I found it to be excessive and military-like in its rigidity. I was also disappointed to learn that if you can't attend a scheduled class or if you don't cancel a few hours in advance, they charge a fee.unforeseen events do exist.
Given these circumstances, I decided that I did not like the way Pure Barre studio operates and notified them that I would not be continuing with the payment plan. I requested a refund for the first month that I had not taken, since I had never actually attended a class, and was surprised to learn that I had signed a contract that prevented me from receiving a refund. I feel that I was never properly informed of this contract, and that the company should have made it clearer that signing up for the promotion would obligate me to pay for the full three months.
As a result of all these issues, I never felt comfortable at the studio and ended up paying for three months and attending to a couple of classes only. I believe that the lack of transparency and communication has led to an unpleasant and unsatisfactory experience to me, at that moment I requested for a resolution to this situation, and I only received apologies from the stuff.
I hope that my experience can help other customers to be aware of this studio, or even better, that Pure barre can take steps to ensure that future customers are properly informed and treated fairly.
