Quality Seafood Market reviews
35Excellent scene for seafood. Service is prompt even when they are busy. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again.
Everything was so delicious but I might actually hurt someone for that blueberry bread pudding. All around excellent!
Crawfish boil was just ok. Used to be more flavorful, spicy and with added depth. This place remains one of my go-to spots, but I'm just less excited about the crawfish these days.
The weather was bad this afternoon so I just stopped by for a beer and to order some ettoufe to take home. We shared 1/2 dozen grilled house oysters while we waited. I kept thinking I need to get some fish too. Quality Seafood is an Austin tradition. They sell some every day and they put their souls into it.
Just what I hoped for from a fish market: fresh seafood, ample portions, well prepared and delightfully served. Good price, too.
The sword fish special was a delight. I thought id be hungry afterwards but it was very filling but had to put a piece of keylime pie with it very yummy thank you for great food!
Unfortunately not so great. Guy the the cashier - very unpleasant, borderline rude, and we arrived at 11am, there were 2 other tables only. The shrimps tasted like soap.
Kind of a dive and kind of a whole in the wall but a great place nevertheless with honest to goodness quality seafood nonetheless and a great happy hour on food and drink
Although the fresh fish smelled amazing when I walked in, I didn't receive the same freshness when I ordered my food. I felt the food was over priced for what I received. I was really looking forward to this, and was disappointed.
Great food, and great seafood to take home to cook. Even better since the expansion, now even more seating!
I have lived in Austin for 10 years now and i am upset I never came here before because I was missing out. I love this place. I met the bartender, Kathy, and she was awesome. Service was great and for the price, the food was pretty darn good and really hit the spot. Also great prices on HH drinks like the $3 house wine. You need to check this place out
Mediocre food and unbelievably small portions. I ordered a shrimp po-boy that had 4 small shrimp, lettuce and tomato.not sure what I paid for smh. The people was nice but food not up to my expectations. Your better off going to joe’s crab shack.
Probably my absolute favorite place for seafood and cajun cuisine in all of Austin. This is also somewhat of an Austin icon too, because of their long history in Austin and quality. The name says it all - quality service, quality seafood! Great place to meet for drinks or dinner and the happy hour specials are waycool. Watch for $1 oysters and Sunday lobster specials too. Tired of lame grocery store seafood? Stop in and take advantage of the seafood market deals!
Great experience overall. The fried catfish is a little pricey but the texture was great. It could also use a little bit more seasoning to spice it up. I really liked the hush puppies with the tartar sauce.
Next time I will probably get something not fried to change it up.
Market quality food, market level cooking, and market quality service, but nice restaurant level price. Totally not worth it. Not recommend at all
Nov. 10, the catfish was excellent, tasty as always. Service, superb. Cold beer, nice people, good food. What else is matters? The men's room and dining areas very well kept. The clam chowder is good. A definite must if you've never been. Keep up the good work, Guys!
Wonderful place, with a great menu. But what are the secret stars here are the cooking classes! I took the Soups And Roux class earlier this year, my cooking has SO improved. Looking forward to taking more classes next year, they are very good.
Coming from a Chilean that grew up in Boston (a lot of seafood in those places haha) it was okay. Sat at the bar. Relatively good prices for the amount of food. Fish was tasty, service was amazing and friendly. Meal was very satisfying.
The food was wonderful and the waitstaff were extremely attentive. Had awesome grilled oysters, delicious grilled shrimp, and the blueberry bread pudding was decadent.
I bought some scallops (my favorite food) and brought them home, I had to throw them out and now need to scrub my fridge because the smell is unbearable, days later.
I am new to Austin: will not be coming back, unfortunately.
