Range Steak - Seafood - Field reviews
16To start the host was so rude when my fiancé told him we had a reservation at 7: 30. We were just checking in. He acted like the restaurant was full when they literally had 4 tables when we walked in. Our server was the barter and he was rude and had a runny nose tht he kept wiping off with his hands. He made us the worst Cesar salad. He served us with dirty plates that had pepper on them. Checked on us once. Idk how he was serving drinks with those dirty mucus hands. The food was okay. Definitely had better.
Good food, solid value for money, friendly wait staff. Nick was really helpful, knowledgeable, and overall one of the best servers I've ever met.
I wanted something light and made up my own meal by combining an appetizer and a side, they were really accommodating.
This is our first visit to San Antonio, and we found this place walking around downtown. They've recently implemented a new menu and OH MY GOODNESS! These are some of the best dishes we've ever had! The combination of flavors and quality of the food are top notch. We came back for lunch the next day. Hats off to chef Jason Dady!
Our order: I had a Don Q Pear Daquiri and the Braised Beef Rotolo. My fiance had their Old Fashioned and the Waygu Meatloaf with Brussels sprouts. We shared the Tuscan salad. It was all amazing! Also, don't skip out on the bread!
Food was room temperature when our meals arrived. We asked the manager for assistance and received new plates. Steaks were warm but dry, sides were even colder. We had to ask a second time for one of our shared sides to be brought out. No compensation was offered in any form. Would not recommend.
We went as a large group and found that it had fix limited menu due to Restaurant week. There was only one vegetarian item and a salad. Fortunately, pasta was good but the quantity was small which was fine with me but others may need something more.
Good food. Slightly pricey, but the servers are friendly and helpful. The salmon was dry and the Nutella dessert had hard pieces in the creme that almost felt inedible.
The table side Caesar salad is very good, the only thing I would say it was lacking was more dressing (because it’s so good), I go to different places for long islands in specific and this joint did not disappoint. Overall I think 4 stars is fair.
The dining experience at Range is exemplified by its Staff - like Nick. We dined here for the first time on Christmas Day. Nick was cheerful, entertaining and attentive - remember this is Christmas Day! He simply made our evening, even though we were the last ones to leave. Dinner was a Prix Fixe menu and was delicious! Fillet Mignon for my wife and brother, while I had the Salmon - very moist and tender, cooked exactly as ordered - priceless. We can't wait to come back and experience their full menu. Nick, I hope you had a great Christmas and know that these slow eating Californians really appreciate your service.
Only 2 stars because waiter was really attentive, although, he wasn't able to describe some of the foods. The octopus was dry & salty, the lobster bisque was pure salt & no lobster. We should've apparently ordered the brussel sprouts or ribs or pork chops based on reviews. Left hungry but scared to order anything else.
I had the meatloaf with potatoes and brussel sprouts. The food was good. I ate at the bar. It’s a decent hotel restaurant. I had the mud pie for desert.
You get what you pay for.
Absolutely ridiculous, Valentines day reservations were made on Feb. 2nd then today the 10th they sent me a text message confirming my reservation, and that that day was a "prixy", couldn't even spell pre-fixed right, menu, and it would be 100 dollars per person plus 20% gratuity plus tax. I have never heard of this being done. Price gouging on Valentines day from a restaurant should be illegal.
This is a high end place with high end prices so if you are on a budget, find someplace else. Anyway, the food was outstanding. My wife had a pizza which was so good that I have to take a slice and the risk of getting my hand slapped. I had a pasta dish and again, soo good. Now here's the reason I'm only giving 4 stars. After dinner we sat around and had a couple for drinks. I ordered a whisky, neat. The server asked if I wanted an ice cube in the glass and I said yes. Here's my problem. I was charged for the ice cube. I didn't notice the charge until the next day. I wonder why.it's water that is frozen. If you go, and I recommend you do, ask about the price of everything so you're not charged to ice.
What happened here? We ordered the 4 course meal. The only option was salmon or meat loaf. The meatloaf was so salty we had to send it back. The replacement wasn't any better. And that nasty bbq sauce on top? What were you thinking? !? I took it home and tossed it out to the animals. The salmon was so bland I tossed it out too. A real waste of money.
My wife and I came in for desert and drinks. We waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order while the waitstaff were talking at the bar. The restaurant was less than 1/3 full. Please don't seat people if you don't plan on serving them.
Great place for drinks. Lobster bisque way too salty. Octopus was salty & like soft jerkey. Edible but not worth the money. Staff extremely attentive.
Bar used to be nicer now it smells kinda bad, and there are little flies. Beer tastes old.
