Rays Real Pit BBQ Shack reviews
16I had the beef sausage plate with mac and cheese and dirty rice. The sausage didn't need any sauce! It was delicious! The staff was friendly and professional.
The food was awesome, we had plenty, it was great, tasteful. The staff was friendly. Service was fast. The parking is never enough. If they could only improve on the parking, they would gladly get 5 stars plus.
My brother lives in Houston and live in Beaumont. He turned me on this place and everything was on point! I highly recommend eating here. It was worth the drive and then some!
Not impressed. Had high hopes but brisket and Turkey was pretty dry. Smoked mac and cheese was great. The other sides looked unappealing.
This place has some amazing food. It’s among my top favorites in Houston. I got the brisket with mac n cheese (which was top tier) and green beans, and I loved every bite! The only reason I refrain from 5 stars is the proportions could have been bigger for the price. If I’m paying $20 for a meal I wanna fill up! But even as someone with a smaller appetite, I felt the proportions left me a little unsatisfied. Otherwise, this place is definitely worth a try!
Ordered before the restaurant even opened to have it delivered at 1145. Get a call at 1238 that they gave my food to someone else and refuse to remake it. Absolutely AWFUL customer service!
Brisket and sausage was good but the mac and cheese was.ok.last time ordering mac and cheese
I bought a gift card from them last year and now they are saying they don't take their own gift cards anymore so they took my money for the card and I can't even use it! I will not be going back!
The guy that cleans off the tables came to my table every 5 minutes asking if I'm done.each time I clearly was eating my baked potato which by the way is delicious.and he just stands over customers pestering them while they're eating.brother take his table cleaning duties serious.
Good and smokey food was cold they had just opened up my girlfriend says we want go back lol
Everything about this place was great, service, selection and food was lights out. Brisket was cooked perfect, portions good size, price was great. Nice work, RAYS! Next time I am back in Houston, certainly a must stop.
After reading some of the reviews…. I thought maybe we came at the wrong time, day. I was satisfied with my meal at all.hubby got the baked potato. Which wasn’t bad. Would have been ok, had it been hot. I’ve gotten WAY BIGGER POTATOES W/ way more xtra stuff. At no additional cost. My daughter got the brisket sandwich. Which I DIDNT taste. Too greasy looking for me. Now my order. Myself is from Chicago. So I ordered the Chicago style rib tips, spicy rice, fried Mac and cheese, I got ribs, no rib tips.which tasted boiled. Spicy rice was overcooked, mushy, with crunchy bites.the fried Mac and cheese. I wouldn’t call it that at all.over cooked. Had I checked my food before I left. I would have asked for a refund. Wasn’t tasteful at all. I just open the back door, gave my plate to my dog.
I only ate their brisket baked potatoes which I love. This time I wanted to try their desserts so I ordered the peach cobbler and banana pudding. The peach cobbler looked unappealing. It looked like a lot of crust smashed together to fit inside the container. The taste was horrible. It honestly tasted like sweet cardboard. I tried it again warm thinking it will taste better but no. I tried the banana pudding which also looked unappealing. It was a brownish greyish color. When i tasted it i didnt like it. Taste like they added cinnamon or nutmeg. It hardly tasted like banana pudding at all and had a bad after taste. Both desserts cost me $10 on doordash. What a waste of money. Im very disappointed that a black owned establishment would ruin peach cobbler and banana pudding.
Family came from Atlanta and wanted some BBQ and wanted to support a black owned restaurant. Place was clean and my family said the meat was good. I’m a vegetarian so there was a few sides I could order. I was ok with my sides (fried corn, potato salad and cucumber salad) Overall everything was good. No complaints.
I like this place I think it's really good but they don't never have rib tips or ends
