An intimate performance space with the stage between two banks of seating (The booking page on their website had us wondering where the stage was for a while!). This worked very well for the short play we went to see ("a number", worth checking out). The facility also has a great bar towards the front of the building, which was excellent a quick pre-performance drink. We will certainly be back.

Don’t let the photos fool you, everyone puts their phones away when the show starts. High quality sets with great actors in an intimate space. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

We had so much fun! We went for the Bowl Cuts show, which was amazing and will definitely be going to the next one! Parking and seating were great. I also liked their bar/lounge area! Can’t wait for the next Bowl Cuts show.

Intimate performance space (60 seats)
Always provocative productions that are well produced
Been there several times. Never disappointed. Charming hang out bar in the lobby.

Great venue in an intimate setting! You can grab a drink at the bar inside before taking in a show. You're in for a memorable experience here at Rec Room.

Intimate theater. Not a bad seat in the house. The bar is super cozy and great for a beer or glass of wine.

They definitely produce some great plays - not your mom's theater, but more like your cool aunt who smokes weed. Quality stuff, good beer and wine, cool atmosphere. NY meets Houston.

Absolutely the standout of when I stayed in Houston. They had free showings of Game of Thrones, which was my reason for going there at the time. But aside from that, you could tell that they deeply cared about organizing cultural events. The staff and the crowd were extremely friendly with this stranger of a tourist that just walked in. I'd definitely recommend anyone to pay it a visit.
Best place in Houston in my experience, hands down.
