Mary and I moved to Tx recently and have tried different Optometrists for our annual eye exams.

Today I give Refined Eye Care a 5 star review (only because I can't give them 10 stars).

The location on HWY 46 is very convenient.
The office is beautiful, clean and smartly attended to.
My wife LOVED the complementary coffee / refreshment bar.

We were greeted with smiles by Dee and Sharon at the front desk and in a few short minutes we felt like we were visiting with old friends. Typical, uncomfortable waiting room silence, was replaced with conversation and laughter.

Macy, a 2x National Cheer Champion in college, enthusiastically did our exam with detailed explanations, in depth information and the answers to any / all questions we had.

Alyssa was a joy to work with in discussing / choosing eyewear.
She asked great questions, discovered our needs, did not oversell, handled all our insurance questions and paperwork and allowed us to walk out of our appointment feeling GREAT about the eyeglass / sunglass decisions we made.

Dr Audrey was GREAT! Personable, friendly, warm, fun and VERY knowledgeable (Magna Cum Laude in both her undergrad and grad school education). We had questions about contacts, cataracts, Lasix, progressive lens, indoor/outdoor/daytime/ nighttime, occasional blurred vision I experience, macro degeneration, IPL treatment to restore eye moisture etc.
She was very patient in discussing our questions and extremely knowledgeable in providing explanations and answers.
Did I mention she was SOOOOOOOOOO nice!

We felt very comfortable and greatly appreciated her insight and guidance as we navigated decisions we needed to make.

This clinic, Dr and staff deserve a 10 Star recommendation.

If you are new to NBTX and/or are looking for an OD, look no further than Refined Eye Care, Mary and I highly recommend them.

Dr Raley & her staff got my 12 year old “seeing” again & she has never been happier. Being in glasses for most of her life, they shared information with us on their successful program for patients with myopia. The staff worked closely with my daughter on how to comfortably & correctly put in her contacts. They were patient & took the time to explain each step of the process.
My daughter can now see clearly while in her classes at school & has expressed her excitement for being able to see the soccer ball clear across the field while she plays her favorite sport. We are so glad we chose Dr Raley & her amazing staff for her vision needs.

The optometrist is a very kind and easy dr to communicate with. The biggest problem my family has had with this facility recently is that they were not honest with me when I requested my options for my annual eye exam for which if they had been would have only cost me with insurance, $15.00 vs almost $400.00. No one said that they were going to take images vs dilate my eyes to perform the exam, instead they just did it and charged me hundreds of dollars after the fact. I asked for the receipt to be emailed per their question of how I wanted to receive my receipt and it was not itemized. Multiple texts and emails and calls later I got it and I was shocked in tears at the fact that they didn’t even care to be honest- they cared more about charging me for a comprehensive exam and getting the most money they could out of me and my insurance company vs keeping patients. Even after the exam they made me feel like I had to pick the frames out right then and there and that simply wasn’t true!

They want the sale and the money. Patients are not priority here. I would not recommend this facility for unethical medical practices. They know I am fighting cancer and they still did this. They took my credit card and ran it for almost 900.00 to start! Now it’s down to almost 400.00 and this is WITH ME keeping my OLD frames. Unacceptable. Unbelievably bad work ethic. When I brought this question and experience up with the facility today they were hesitant to answer my question and instead said I’m sorry we are working on not doing this to others again.

Right thing to do? Refund the patient and put them first not take advantage and continue to lie. But, they chose to take my money and lose us as patients moving forward.

They also have their Facebook review options off to maintain a 5 star rating. Tale tale red flag for them to pass along old experiences of others and give away a false narrative about the experience of others is the only logical conclusion as to why they chose to do this as well. This is sad to do to people period.

My 4 year old and I had our eyes examined here and had the best experience!
First stop was with Dee, she was amazing and so helpful in scheduling our appointments and made the check in/check out process a breeze.
The second stop was with Macy, she did our work up and was extremely thorough and made our pre-testing fun for my little one.
Next, we met with Dr. Raley for our exam. She made sure to explain everything and answered all the questions I had. She was so patient and kind with my little one - our little one didn't want the exam to end!
Our last stop was with Alyssa. My 4 year old did not need glasses but I did. I had so much fun picking out my glasses with Alyssa. I had a vision in mind and she made it happen! She gave me the best options for my prescription.

After leaving the office my little one asked when we could come back to visit - I don't know how many 4 year olds enjoy the doctor that much: ]

First time here and the were amazing. Answered all my questions and explained everything clearly. Very friendly atmosphere. Love the glasses I choose as well.

After Dr. Martino retired from business, I was hoping to find a caring and very professional eye doctor to take care of my needs. Rest assured, I found one. Dr. Audrey Raley and her staff are very thorough and caring for their patients. Highly recommended! I’ve already talked to our maintenance guy here at the complex and he was impressed and saved Refined Eyecare’s contact information on his phone.

I was impressed with the professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction. They ensure the customers are completely satisfied with their services, which I respect immensely!

Amazing eye doctor experience! Dr. Raley is so Theral and detailed during my annual visit. The staff is personable & professional, I drive from Spring Branch because of the level of service I get every time, I highly recommend Refined Eye Care!

My previous optometrist would no longer use my insurance, so I went to Refined Eye Care after reading the reviews and tried to get fitted for new contacts. After the first fitting, paid for mostly by my insurance, I tried 3 pair that didn't work that well. That's not unusual in the contacts world. However, Dr Raley requested I come back for another fitting (at my expense) and came up with a somewhat different prescription. I liked the prescription better, but wasn't sure about the Bosch & Lombe contacts because they seem to dry out later in the day. I asked to try one last pair using Biofinity with the same prescription. I then got a call from her basically saying she didn't think she could resolve my 'issues' and recommend I try a pair of $3K contacts (including the fitting) or she could refer me to another optometrist. Basically, she wasn't willing to give me another pair of contacts to try. I have a problem with having to pay for a 2nd fitting in the first place, and then the optometrist is not willing to let me try one more pair with the new prescription. Kind of wonder why my prescription was different on two fittings, but I don't profess to be an eye expert. I do know my previous optometrist gave me just as many, if not more pairs, of contacts with no issues until they got it right. Next time, I'll just pay for a fitting with my previous optometrist, it would've cost me less and probably have gotten what I wanted. Disappointed, I liked Dr Raley a lot.

Dr. Audrey Raley, absolutely amazing. Came up with a viral infection of my right eye and contacted her as her office was close. She took the time out of her personal life to see me and give me a diagnosis and treated me on her day off. She is absolutely the best optometrist I have ever been too. The place was beyond clean! I would give her 10000/10 rate if I could!

I was recently provided services by Refined Eye Care. The services were great; but I had an issue with the billing, and left a premature negative review. Before it was all said and done, the doctor got on the phone with me, herself, and resolved my issue/concern much to my satisfaction but to her detriment. The bottom line is, she went above and beyond her role as a doctor, but really stepped up to the plate as a fair business woman. I can say, without hesitation, that she exceeds my expectation in both capacities. If she’s amenable, I would like this to be my go-to for all my future eye care.

Best eye doctor experience I’ve ever had! Dr. Raley taught me so many things about my eyes that I never knew! The staff was personable & professional, the office is beautiful, overall amazing experience. 100000% recommend:)
