This hotel has no room service, a tiny unappealing in-room cofee maker, one restaurant that is also a bar and with slow service, and if your room is on the 9th floor by the elevators you'll hear a clanging noise that will keep you up all night. And one tiny coffee place, that is also the breakfast place, with always a long line.

This hotel has two great things going for it. Number one, the location is phenomenal with great access to MoPac, Loop 360, US 183, and even to I-35. Also, unlike a lot of other hotels, there's plenty of free self parking.

I chose this location for a staycation weekend and needing a home base for a friend visiting from out of town. We managed to get a very competitively priced suite via the Marriott website. I received a notification via the app that my room was ready - ahead of schedule. Further, the room had the extra towels that I'd requested through the app.

However, there were a couple of points that really took away from the premium hotel experience. First, the room itself was slightly dated. That's ok, but one door knob was broken and a lamp in the living area was also broken. In my opinion, those should've been caught. Second, housekeeping was haphazard. On Saturday, our room hadn't been touched by 4 PM. Before we left for the evening, we asked the front desk to address this. When we returned much later, the room was cleaned - but the towels provided were clearly smaller and approaching threadbare.

The location and parking are stellar, but the lack of attention to detail holds this hotel back - especially for a suite.

I visit the Renaissance Austin Hotel at least once or twice a month with three friends. We don't stay there, as we all live in Austin, but we come for breakfast. We have chosen this place because the food is great, the ambience is exactly right (tasteful and subdued, allowing guests to chat without having to holler at each other), and the service is absolutely stellar. Take this morning for example: we were met at the door by Colin, the valet, who helped the most elderly of us out of the car and then found a wheelchair for her and pushed her to the restaurant-above and beyond the call! In the restaurant, Victor was out excellent waiter, bringing us everything we wanted (including a special pepper shaker and extra raw sugar and orange marmalade). I cannot recommend the Renaissance Austin Hotel too highly. For any stay in Austin, it can't be beat for ambience, the restaurant's food, and especially the service throughout the hotel!

The outside and lobby were beautiful. The room was average, for such a high end hotel I expected more elegance. The finishes were poorly done (i.e. The towel and the vents in the restroom were crooked and had gaps). The coffee creamer needs to be periodically checked because it was old and clumped. We had a handicap room, I guess it was geared to a wheelchair bound person because it was very spacious, however every handicap person is not wheelchair bound and it did not have appropriate seating for someone who needed it. Only one desk chair and one side chair, but I believe their should have been at least another side chair and a bathroom bench. The staff was very nice and courteous. Customer service was a plus. I did not take pictures, I wish I did. The view was pretty good. I actually stayed at another hotel, Home2 Suite in the Domain and this hotel was much more high end than Renaissance

We stayed here for the F1 US Grand Prix as part of a package we had purchased. The hotel itself is huge, and, at first glance, looks quite nice. Check in was easy.

Our room faced the atrium which wasn’t super fun, especially because it got noisy at night; however, that was definitely the least of our concerns.

The AC ran non-stop and the room was so musty and reeked of mildew. Our clothes felt damp, the sheets felt damp, everything felt damp. It was so uncomfortable and disappointing. We did not feel like the rooms were clean enough.

In addition, the beds were hard and the pillows were so flat. Not what you’d expect from a “4 Star” hotel. We won’t be back.

I booked this room for a girls weekend. When we arrived, the room was very clean. We realized we only had one water glass. The staff left 2 more when I complained. We left for the evening, but on our return, we realized we only had one bar of soap. Normally, there should be one for the shower and one for the sink, plus bath gel, etc. We get more complimentary amenities from Holiday Inn Express! For $600+ for the weekend, I was quite disappointed! Upon leaving, I had another charge on my card for a minimal amount, but I have to email Marriott to get an explanation. The Renaissance is a beautiful hotel, but I’m not sure I will stay there again.

Amazing hotel with great staff, comfortable accommodations, and super clean facilities for working out, swimming, or lounging. Not to mention they have a very nice bar with beautiful outdoor seating. I would love to stay here again.

Worst experience ever!

Let me start off by stating that I have always LOVED Marriott hotels, I have been a rewards member for a very long time, and I still plan on staying at Marriott-owned hotels. With that being said- the Renaissance Austin Hotel was the worst stay my family and I have ever experienced. We were transferred between 5-6 rooms because each had major things broken. The biggest was the bathroom door that locked you INSIDE the bathroom. Luckily it was an adult and not one of our children who got locked inside. We were very patient, moving from room to room and floor to floor, but making my family and I wait downstairs while your “repair man” tried multiple times to fix the issues, to the point that it’s been hours, and almost 11: 00 pm and we had arrived around 6-7: 00 pm is unacceptable. My children had been looking forward to simply swimming in the pool, and when we were finally able to return to one of the (multiple) rooms to get their swimsuits, we were very rudely told the pool had just closed. As the room was still being worked on, we had to return back downstairs. When it was going on 11: 00 PM and my very tired children were exhausted you were not accommodating at all. ACTUALLY I have to give kudos to the restaurant/bar staff who went out of their way to bring my children towels to cover up with, as it was freezing inside and chilly/windy outside and they were extremely exhausted. I also think it is a slap in the face to give us a $10 restaurant coupon for all the trouble when we spent over $500 for the hotel room and over $250-$300 in the restaurant while being forced to wait for hours. Not only that, but the front desk staff were extremely rude during this whole ordeal. Writing this actually makes me not ever want to give ANY Marriott hotel our money ever again. This is not how you treat your loyal members.

While the hotel is always consistently good, the gentleman who seemed to be the manager on duty last night, October 16,2021 is one of the kindest and most professional managers I have ever dealt with in the service industry.

Lee went above and beyond with helping me out. He was attentive, polished, and ensured that my experience was perfect. Lee is the type of person that any premier organization should have as their face. Will definitely be back.

Great responsive staff. John, restaurant manager, could not have been more helpful. All the the housekeeping staff were helpful.

After booking this hotel almost a MONTH in advance for a King Suite with a View for $275 for ONE night I was incredibly disappointed. When I arrived at check-in they put me in a double Queen room with absolutely no view. I went back to the front desk and let them know this was NOT the room I paid for. They apologized and said the ONLY room they had available was a King handicap room. So I said that’s fine, only to realize this also DID NOT HAVE A VIEW. At the end of the day I did NOT get what I paid for and they’re refusing to give me back some of my money seeing as I didn’t even receive the room I paid almost $300 for. At check-out the front desk staff even AGREED THAT THE ROOM I WAS IN WAS NOT THE ROOM I BOOKED. The only answer they had was, “Grab some snacks from our retail shop, sorry”. Also the guests at this hotel were extremely judgmental as well. The only good thing was the bar tender knew how to make drinks. That’s it. I’ll NEVER EVER stay at this hotel again as they can’t even seem to stick to their own policy and give you the room you paid for. I wasted my money.

The bedsheets had stains on them. Requested a different room. That room's bedsheets also had stains. In terms of cleanliness, not very good.

Very dated hotel, looks like an older Embassy Suites. Noise carries from the hotel lobby, bar, etc to the rooms. It was 11pm on a Tuesday and I could hear people talking. The staff wasn't overly friendly, just very transactional and to the point. Not the quality or experience I'm accustomed to at Renaissance hotel, I'd recommend staying elsewhere.

Very nice hotel! We had to move rooms a couple of times but the GM was very obliging and went above and beyond to help us. Would stay here again!

The hotel itself was great. I would warn anyone who is checking out early to speak to a manager. I called downstairs and spoke with the front desk and asked if I checked out a day early, if I would be charged the last day. I was told no and given my receipt for 3 days. The next day I received a bill via email for the 4 days and have been trying for 3 weeks to get someone to at least respond to my emails. I am unable to speak to a real person.this type of service is unacceptable!

Upon arriving we got in line to check in, we waited in line for 30 minutes there was only 2 employees checking guest in. Several employees walked trough noticing the line was and had been growing. While waiting there was more than 2 guest that decided they were extra special and formed their own line and proceeded ahead of me and others waiting patiently. We was scheduled to check in Monday and Check out Friday at 11 am. Once we finally got our keys to our room it wasnt brought to our attention that should we need housekeeping during the 4 days we would be there that we would need to request it. There was no one to help with bags, next was the wait to get on 1 out of the 5 elevators they had surving 9 floors. Once you was lucky enough to get on elevator there wasnt anyone montioring how many would get on and the overwhelming feeling that the last 4 people who got on should really have waited cause it was way over the capacity. We get to our room, I was extremly disappointed. Theres no microwave, the beds where very hards, theres limited outlits, and the wifi is $15 a day. The amenities shows the bathroom to have robes there wasnt. Several times while staying the week I found myself having to take the stairs from the 5th floor down due to the elevators being down. With guest trapped in them. The fire department having to come out and get the guest down. I was ready to go at that point. Its not a good feeling witnissing the elevators going out while guest in them. The bar was about the only plus I found. The staff at the bar was excellent. Theres no snack machines, or vending machines, they have a store inside with very limited items. Right behind the hotel is a highway with miles and miles of homeless people living under the bridges in tents. The homeless come up during the day and lounge on patio. I will not return to a renaissance it was my first and last time.

If I could give a zero star review I would do it. This hotel was absolutely terrible. There was a live band playing in the lobby restaurant and it was ridiculously loud. When I complained, the front desk told me that you could hear the music in every single room of the hotel. They offered to move our room but I paid for a king bed and they offered twin queen beds. No other offer of any kind of compensation. The front desk showed zero concern. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want loud music until well into the night. They do not care about their guests. Horrible disappointment. If I had wanted to stay on 6th St. I'd have done it. If you want a nice peaceful room, AVOID THE RENAISSANCE.
