I have seen many poor reviews but my story is quite different. I was not approved for insurance until I was 6 months pregnant and of course, no one would take me.except Renaissance. I understand this is rare and on a case by case basis, but I called on a Friday after I had an appointment for a month scheduled with ARC who suddenly cancelled and they scheduled me for the next week. I was there all day the first day bc I had my nurse education hour, met my doctor, had all my labs including glucose test and an anatomy ultrasound. I felt completely cared for and confident in my team. Unfortunately wait times depend on procedures or deliveries that come up so docs travel in between NAMC and the office. I never minded waiting because the care is, was and always will be exceptional.thank you to Tori, Dr. Patel, Dr. Mills and all of the front desk staff.

Dr. Victoria Wheeler is such a blessing to have as an OBGYN. As a woman of color, having a doctor that looks like you creates a bond that is beyond words! She’s so relatable, knowledgeable, nurturing, and makes sure to go over all your concerns and needs. As a black woman, it’s reassuring and makes me feel safe, heard, and well taken care of when it comes to my healthcare needs. I’m telling all my friends, she’s the one! The perfect fit for your list of doctors in Austin! Renaissance Women’s Group, you all found a gem! Thank you for bringing her on to your team!

I had an IUD placed in 2021. I was told to take some ibuprofen at home beforehand and that I could drive myself to and from the appointment. The procedure was incredibly painful. I ended up vomiting from the pain and was unable to drive myself home and I could not work for 3 days. I was not given any additional pain meds or monitored after. I thought this was typical, but after talking with friends and others who have had an IUD inserted who did not have as much pain, I realized it is not normal. Women deserve better. I would not recommend this center to any women. If men can get pain management and be anesthetized for a 5 minute vasectomy, the women should also be given that same standard of care.

Just don’t.
Always plan on appointments being an entire day ordeal. Ultrasound appointments are booked separately (hour in between each time) than the doctor visit. You will be waiting 45+mins after your appointment time, each time. Each of my visits (ultrasound+doctor) took 3 hours. My doctor only appointments that should take 30 mins, maybe, last over an hour.

EDIT: communication has improved. I haven’t had any issues contacting anyone recently, so I’m glad they figured it out.

Let me start by saying I really like the provider I see, but the office management, or lack there of, is absurd. Communication by this practice is practically nonexistent. I haven’t been able to reach anyone over the phone, whether it’s to schedule an appointment or talk with a nurse. It’s extremely frustrating to go through a pregnancy with no clear line of communication with your OBGYN. If I wasn’t so far along, I’d switch practices, no matter how much I liked the provider.

My appointments have been cancelled on their end the day before (and even same day), and I receive an automated message asking me to call the office to reschedule. First off, if they are needing to cancel for an unexpected reason, someone from the practice should reach out to reschedule; not ask you to call them. Second off, it wouldn’t be a big deal if this only happened once. However, it’s happened multiple times, so much so that my appointment has been cancelled when I’m at the clinic in the waiting room waiting to be called back. Third off, it’s impossible to reach anyone, so how am I expected to reschedule? I’ve tried calling, leaving voicemails, and sending a reschedule request on the portal, all with no response.

If I have another pregnancy, I more than likely won’t return. It’s nerve wracking to navigate a pregnancy with minimal guidance, especially when you have pre-existing conditions that affect delivery and baby.

I’ve been a patient here for two years, and unfortunately made the mistake of recommending this practice to several people without realizing that the office is virtually unreachable. Every negative review is met with the same “We’re sorry, we’re trying to implement a new system” comment. Clearly this system isn’t working if three month’s isn’t enough time to get back on your feet. I would give this zero stars if possible. Great staff, impossible management system.

This placed charged me $140 for a visit where no service was conduct! I asked one question on the way out of the facility and they took it upon their self to say it was a complete visit. NEVER again now I am dealing with collection agency.

Leaving my previous post below (for context of this updated post) I got a call today to schedule my appointment. The person I talked to was very kind and explained that through their transition of being bought they lost a lot of staff and currently only have one person answering/returning calls. She also mentioned that the staff is working on weekends trying to get to everyone. They are in the process of hiring more people, and are doing the best they can. I appreciated that they called me back, and it’s hard when you are short staffed. I love my dr (Gutierrez) and will be patient as they work through this crazy time of adjustment.

(Previous post) It has been a nightmare trying to get a hold of anyone here. I had an appointment and needed to reschedule and called and left messages, and never heard back. It's been over a month now and I still have not been able to get a hold of anyone. I also tried calling the office manager, whose info was posted in another review, and the call never goes through. I am so frustrated. I love my doctor, but I can't get through to anyone to make an appointment with her. I can't even imagine what it's like for those who are pregnant or dealing with any health issues. I'd recommend my doctor, but since you can't get anyone to answer a phone or return a message, or respond to your request online, I'd highly recommend looking else where.

For the past few months I’ve struggled to call with anyone; I managed to get an appointment after a month of trying and still have yet to receive a call about the results (two weeks later) after calling them for verbal results. Impossibly apathetic and impersonal, and the doctor offered the same experience. I would not go here, save yourself the anxiety and find another place more willing to view you as a person.

Terrible clinic! They can never be reached takes days to get call back. I decided to try another place in austin after having a problem big difference I could reach them instantly and actually important to them. I guess tx renaissance doesn't need the business!

I cannot urge you enough to not go here. There is no communication, like many others have said. I thought they would at least communicate with my pharmacy to refill a prescription that Dr MacLeod prescribed me, however the pharmacist was also unable to reach anyone there. I truly dont understand how its even legal for a doctor's office to operate in this way. Luckily I have transferred to another doctor now. But I really encourage you to skip the hassle of this place and go elsewhere, as many doctors only take people in early pregnacies.

I have been seeing Dr. Truitt for a few years. I used to be a nurse in a Labor & Delivery unit. I quickly switched to Dr. Truitt after I worked with her delivering babies. She is the best and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my gynecological health or my pregnancy. I can't say enough wonderful things.

Doctor is great. However, I called the office for appointment and reschedule 20 times. No one answer the phone. It is like no communication at all. It like disappearing.

Just unbelievable care and service! Their website says that they offer full range of obstetrician services for all patients. So I recently relocated, pregnant and called their office requesting appointments letting them know that I want to give birth at St. David’s N Austin Med Center. And they told me that they do not take patients who are this late in their pregnancy, 32 weeks… they couldn’t give me options or who to go to after, just nothing! That’s how much they care about patients… my recommendation for your marketing team.is to then update your website to clearly state which stages of pregnancies you accept and who you accept because right now it’s very misleading. I called st. David’s main line to inform them of this, and they were in complete shock! That this is not the way we should be cherry picking our patients…

I have been using this office since September for my pregnancy, and it was great up until the recent switch to St Davids health network. I am late 3rd trimester and cannot ever get anyone on the phone. The scheduling phone line, and the nurses phone line both ring a couple of times and go straight to voicemail.

The office staff is great and the doctors/NP have all been fantastic, but it's stressful not being able to contact a nurse or anyone at the office easily. Appointments are also auto cancelled on their end sometimes (which is understandable), and with the scheduling line constantly going straight to voicemail, it makes it very difficult to reschedule your appointment. The app is also not great, the provider I'm using isn't even available for me to book appointments with through the app at this point, so I can only schedule new appointments in person at the office.

I just wouldn't recommend the practice to anyone right now, until at least the phones are fixed.

I'm a new patient, haven't even seen a doctor yet and am already having a bad experience. No one answers your call and rarely do they call you back.

It is impossible to get through, make an appointment, find out the results of the tests. I have been waiting for my results for 12 days, the nurse does not call back. I will change this clinic and do not recommend working with them.
