I love Dr. Torti but I have been forced to find another doctor because of my insurance, I am devastated. I currently have a diabetic hemorrhage in my left eye, my only eye, so I called my retina doc.so I could get my eye checked out and see what we could do about the bleed. Now I have been going to the Retina Institute Bolton Boone for 7yrs and have been self pay, I notified them that I now have Obama Care insurance and they tell me that they can't see me because they don't take that insurance, so I ask can I continue as a self pay patient, the receptionist said no, we can not see you, so I ask you are denying me emergency treatment she said yes. Keep in mind this condition may cause me to loose my only eye.the receptionist and the office manager then said this is there policy. I then call the other offices in their group and they said I should have been able to be seen as a self pay patient since I have been self pay since day one.
Most of the staff is always agreeable. Considerate of the needs of the patient. The doctor answer the concerns the patient might have. Clean which is a plus always.
