Rowing Dock, Austin TX

Always easy to get a nice workout here by kayak or canoe. We came early so it wasn't crowded at all. They also have pedal kayaks in case you don't want to wear out your arms.

I had one of the best time on this river. There was people from all works of life having fun and the staff are friendly teaching people who are newcomers to paddle the canoe. If anyone around the Austin area or visiting need to have fun I would recommend Rowing Dock.

Super. I live in south Austin but this was the first time I've rented here. Went today for @blackaustintours Roll Colorado Roll kayak tour which was stellar. Love that they're not only cool but also supporting our community in learning more about Austin & black history.

5 of 5 stars for family entertainment. Renting a paddle board or kayak is a lot of fun and a good work out on this peaceful lake. Crowds can be extensive, but you never really feel "crowded", unless you are trying to park. My body groans when I try to kneel or squat, and the staff accommodates me every time with help me getting into and out of the kayak. If your knees complain, then getting out in the lake and paddling is a good alternative to walking/hiking

We had a great time on the kayaks. Staff are friendly. Most of us had been kayaking before, so we knew what to do. They have cubbies for your shoes, but no lockers. They have a system for keeping your car keys if needed.
There was a snow cone truck inn the parking, which was heat to have afterwards.
Fyi, for those who haven't been kayaking before, they don't give you a lesson on the basics before heading out. If this is your first time, please ask them for some instruction.

This place is amazing and at such a great price. Be sure to arrive before 9A on a Saturday or you’ll be stuck waiting for a while until ppl decide when to return their kayak.

These people failed to accommodate easy changes. We wished to swap a double kayak with two single kayaks and they refused despite availability and us finding another couple wishing to swap their two single kayaks with our double. Absolutely absurd. They insulted us over their radios with us right there listening. Wasn't surprised how horribly operated everything was and probably reflects the intellect of management. They seemed overwhelmed and stressed over easy tasks. I've been in combat and stayed more calm and collected than this team who struggled to manage parking of two dozen cards.

Will never return. Reservation says we can get on the water at 7pm but the other kayaks don't return until 7. Didn't get on the water until closer to eight. What a shame of this establishments failed management. There were people in line that were refused 1 for 1 swaps with others. Management days it isn't possible, a lie, when we can simply just trade out wristbands and everything is fine. Pathetic. Go to Austin Paddle Sports instead.

We went here at 8am without any advance bookings on a long weekend. They still welcomed us and provided quick service.
Tips:
1.if you want a peddle kayak you will need to book online.
2. Wear good suncreen and swim wears as you will get wet
3. They need a credit card (Amex not allowed) and your license as proof.
4. They do have a storage area for your shoes/bags - please be advised it’s not locked
5. They would provide you with splash proof bag and splash resistant bag for 2 and 4$ respectively.

$10.00 an hour per person when we went. It was my first time ever and I felt really comfortable. They don't give you time to second guess. Just sign, see if you need water/waterproof bag, get a life jacket, pay, and go. It's so simple. No directions given. Turtles were EVERYWHERE and it was just very peaceful. Recommend wearing shorts and shoes you don't care about/water shoes. I recommend this place for sure!

Great place for kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding. Never have to wait more than 10 minutes even on weekends.great fun!

I came here for a bachelorette weekend activity and it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it so much I came back the next weekend with my boyfriend to show him how much fun it was. Needless to say he enjoyed it too. Good price and relaxing activity to do on a nice day.

A great selection for a day or an hour on the lake. They rent everything from paddle boards to canoes and kayaks. They are very affordable for their rentals and very helpful for anyone trying something new.

Went for the Bogo event if you bring your dog along! Great sales special! The staff was super helpful, didn't have any issues with the equipment either. Will definitely be back!

In order to rent at this establishment, you must have a credit card or debit card for a deposit, no cash only rentals, location is prime and there is a bit of wait time to check in.

Awesome place to rent Kayaks single, double or fishing.stand up paddle boards at decent prices. I gave 4 stars only because the parking sucks and the porta potties are very stinky and nasty.other than that we had a Blast.

Great staff good prices and good reviews made my decision easy to chose rowing dock when I decided to cruise on the river. You could stay out there all day. Very relaxing very fun I can't wait to visit again on our next trip to Austin
