Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q reviews
17So if you are heading out on a road trip of if you just need a fast lunch or dinner, this place is it. They sell gasoline, bags of ice, BBQ, and lots of sides. If you buy 8 pounds of BBQ to go they give you a 32 ounce bottle of BBQ sauce with your order. The day I was there they were cleaning/sanitizing all the BBQ bottles that are stationed on the tables.
Nice place to get a quick bite to eat while charging your Tesla or just in need of a pit stop. Came around breakfast time and got some breakfast tacos. Fully customizable - if you like spicy, get the jalapeño sausage with egg, cheese, and potatoes. There's also a self-service station with pickled peppers, onions and salsa, as well as napkins and everything else you need. No-fuss place, clean up after yourself and plenty of space to sit.
Poor quality on the meat and sides, wait over 20 mins to order food and find out they don’t have meat available but don’t make it out/sold out on the Order bored
Best jalapeños smoked sausage in Texas. Brisket smoked to perfection & the smoked Turkey is great. The best Bar-B-Q sause in All of TEXAS
Our dinner was delicious! We shared ribs, brisket and “moist” brisket and they were all delicious! The four of us ranked them as moist brisket being our favorite, ribs second and the regular brisket as a solid third. The staff is amazing and the smell as soon as you walk in is mesmerizing! A definite stop if you’re in the Houston area.
I got the wrong side and I believe they shorted me on meat. However, management listened to my complaint and offered me a fair resolution. I’ve had good experiences in the past with this location as well. Thank you for being so attentive and honoring your customers
Love their wonderful bar-b-que, good service, fresh food at a good price. My favorite is their moist brisket or loaded bake potato Yummy!
A few very disappointing items - just got home with my to-go order
1- workers are not wearing masks - so if that’s important- go elsewhere
2- paid for bbq beans - None where in bag - charged $2.59 plus tax
3- order pork Baby Back ribs - given beef ribs which I really do but like - wastes $7.98 ($0.47 lbs @16.98)
4- Baked potato very hard - not fully cooked.
5- now calling another place to bring me food since we live 25 min away. No way going all the way back spending almost an hour driving back and forth
If you expect the bare minimum of getting the food you order, in a safe environment- go elsewhere and avoid this place! $
And the food I did get - tastes awful
Two days in a row (Sat & Sun) I come in for lunch @11 for the prime rib & Always out. So disappointing. Needs better management
I visited Rudy’s for the first time & was very happy with the food quality so I decided to go again the next day.but as I was ordering my food keep in mind at this time I’m the only customer in line, I didn’t have my glasses and was placing my order with one cashier when I stepped in front of the other register to view the menu more close and this cashier walked out of no where and asked me to move out of the way I even apologized and said I’m sorry I can’t see the menu to choose my side and I was so appalled when she rudely responded well you have to move I have to help another customer…and a police walked up and started ordering That was extremely rude the cashier could have offered to tell me what the sides was available or offer me a menu instead of being so rude.just because he is a police he gets serviced better than me and what’s crazy is I work at a Government agency just didn’t have on my uniform…I really am angry about the way I was treated. I will not be returning Im still in disbelief that horrible customer service as such exist…
Haha I ate my food to fast.didn't have time to take a picture.and there was nothing left.but I can say I got the moisture brisk.and cream corn.wife got turkey and potatoes with butter.and there was no left overs there.
I adore their bbq; their creamed corn used to be the best but they changed something and it’s not as good as it used to be
Pretty good barbecue sold by the pounds! They totally forgot part of our order but the cashier was cool so it's whatever. Overall great food and service. I definitely say try it out.wish they had more sides though.
The food taste great but its a little pricey and the employees half the time get the order wrong or, this was a first but, yesterday the cashier put my wife's baked potato standing up so all the sauce and grease from the meat and the butter ran out and soaked through the bag staining her jeans
This place reminds me the bar b q resturant that was located on Memorial Drive called Ottos. I recently descovered Rudys and found that the potatoe salad and slaw and briskett was the closedest to Ottos than any other bar b q in Houston I WaS VERY IMPRESSED.
You need to drive once to experience this resturant it's a memorable plave you will order from again and again. Located on 290 right off Gessner exit ENJOY.from Matthew LEvak. Please try this wonderful spot oh and a great great picle bar! Fun people rushing you thru ad great service Yippie Rudys. - glad i live closet o them)
Great brisket sandwich while charging a Tesla in the parking lot. It has a supercharger station. I recommend the brisket sandwich with iced tea for lunch.
Now you know in Texas we love us some BBQ!
RUDY'S BBQ IS THE BOMB. COM!
Came her for the first time to celebrate my nephews birthday.
Party of 10, and we all loved the food!
1/2 pound of brisket was served big and definitely moist.
The atmosphere is family friendly and very laid back.
Service was on point and love the fact they had lots of hands on deck.
So no long line to wait to eat.
Really impressed with this little small diner.
They even have gas pumps.
Cool combination!
If you want good BBQ and dang good potato salad, hit RUDY'S UP!
You won't be disappointed and your belly will thank you!
