Lake Georgetown is beautiful. The trails are awsome. Definitely a must visit on your list and the trails leads to the Lake to sit and embrace mother nature to the fullest.

We actually rowed our boat gently down the lake. We were camping at Jim Hogg and saw Russell Park had a beach of sorts so we hopped in our little blow up boat and husband rowed us there. Took about an hour or 2 going against the current, but it was such a lovley day we didn't mind a bit. The beach turned out to be small pebbles, but they were smooth and comfortable to sit and play in. Next time we are in town, we plan to check out Russell Park and see what else they have to offer.

It was our first time in this park. We rented cabin #10, which has an excellent location. This cabin is very close to the bathrooms and was in perfect conditions. It is an excellent place to camp, to enjoy nature and do activities on the lake.

Showed up Sunday, June 13 th and the place was filthy with trash everywhere on the ground, cans full and the vultures perched on the bathroom building. Reported the situation and nothing was done about it. Park Ranger walked past, glanced at it and kept moving. So disappointed.

Great place for camping! Most sites are primitive, but with covered shelter, fire pit and grill. Restrooms w/ showers & fresh, potable water very close walk.

Great swimming beach on Lake Georgetown. The parking lot is a little tight but small matter since it's the only park on the lake with a swimming beach.

The screened shelter sites 10,11, and 12 have nice lake views and are close to the restrooms. The shelters have 2 or 3 twin bed frames but you have to bring your own mattresses. Restroom was not clean. Bring your own wipes or soap. Overall a nice place and good value for the money.

Great primitive camping. There is tent only here, no towables here, or truck campers for that matter. Some spots have water and electric and a few with cabin shells. Limited access to the lake, but great walking trails and wildlife.

Great park! Restrooms were pretty rough and campsites had a fair amount of litter, would have given 3 stars but the beach and overall area were very enjoyable.

Limited cleaning and maintenance of restrooms. Quite nice facility and campground but needs better monitoring and patrolling.

I had so much fun yesterday at Russel Park Beach. Paddle boarding, Kayaking and swimming ‍️. It was a beautiful day. Paddle boarding was rough due to the waves from the the boats. Just to be there and watching people having fun is also worth it.

Absolutely gorgeous Sunset. Reason why I can't give it a 5 star is because campsites are wayyyy too close. We had people playing music and partying till 4am. Making it impossible for us to get a good rest to enjoy the hike the next day.

We camp here every single year in the spring. We love the campsites. They are always clean and the perfect size for us to 'set up camp'. We take 4 people, two tents, and one truck, and there is plenty of room for all. Don't forget the s'mores!

Rustic/ peimitive. Felt like we were way far away from the city. Lots of challenging trails and a quiet beach. Will be back for swimming.

We had a nice little excursion here. There is normally a $5 fee (I believe per car) to get in, but the fee station was closed so we didn't have to pay. We went down to the boat ramp area and walked along the rocks by the shore. The swimming area was closed. I'm not sure if that's because it is December or because of Covid (same with the day use area). Then we went to the hiking trail, that was by the main entrance. That was a pretty hike, with interesting rocks (big rocks in the trail) and of course, cedar trees. The trail goes down to the lake. We didn't do the whole loop (because there was no map so we didn't know how long it was) but it seems like it would be a decent enough hike (in terms of length), If you did the whole loop.
It's definitely nice here, but if we had to pay, it just doesn't feel worth it to drive all the way here, especially because we live in Austin and there are good hikes that are much closer and free.
P.s. There is a camping area here. I also saw a sign by the hiking trail that said you can camp along the trail, which is pretty cool, although there are lots of rocks, so you might have to search a little while to find a smooth flat spot for your tent!

Really nice park with good camping areas we had a great time there, the only drawback are the bathrooms on the camping area. The ones on the lake are fine but the ones on the camping ground not so much

Bouys need to be put back up, water was very muddy do to boat traveling to close to the shore. Do that fact, it was like swimming in a giant mud puddle. Picnic areas seemed ok, with lots of space.

Stayed at #26. We spent some time picking up trash from the last few guests weeks a go. The bathrooms were not being cleaned. Not sure what the camp hosts actually do. I guess they aren't expected to clean. The site was large but over grown with weeds, and the tent pad is too close to the site next to it.

Online picture do not reflect the current beach in 2020. We went on busy weekend. A lot of boat, jet ski going to close to short at a speed way above limit. Under water you find sharp rocks. And the water gets cloudy after every step. A bit disappointed.

Water was nice and refreshing. Went on a Saturday at it was not crowded. Bathrooms are onsite and clean, there is even a shower inside the bag room area. There is no sand but the tiny peddles were not a problem. I would recommend some sort of water shoes.
