Overall a really disappointing experience. Place was nearly empty when we came in (6: 30p on a Saturday), but it took 10 minutes for a waiter to come by and didn’t get any water refills or bread and utensils until after our food was delivered and we specifically asked for them. Food was okay, but soaked in oil which was a bit of a letdown. Better service and more staff that care might help this place, but I wouldn’t come back for the food either.

Service was fast, pizza was delicious, but barbecue wings were horrible. Wings had hard skin and was not good.

I am lost for words to describe the horrible experience we had at this place. I am surprised that they are still in business.

Litterally the worst chicken parm I've ever seen. Menu says pasta dishes are "made to order". What was served was anything but. Pasta was soo overcooked it almost a liquid. Dry spring like texture chicken was flavorless and clearly cooked days ago. All of it was swimming in this greasy oily sauce and it was all suspiciously lava hot for a good 10 minutes that only a microwave would do. Pizza was the only decent thing there and it was just ok. Service was great our waitress was friendly and attentive.

Dining and bar area was very presentable and clean. Despite being there around 5pm on a Friday there were only about 3 parties there. Such a nice restaurant empty is always a sad sight. The food I had today is clearly the reason why.

On vacation in this area, was searching for a pizza place and saw the pictures and reviews for Russo's and decided to give it a try, glad I did, trusted my instincts and they paid off. It's quite good. It is of the New York Pizza variety and all of the components come together pretty well. I had a regular pepperoni with fresh mozzarella and pecorino romano and pepperoni and much to my delight it was quite good. So very glad I came. The price was in line with what I received and I got the pizza very quick and my waitress was quite nice and friendly. So it worked out for me good so I would recommend it.

The food is why I come here. The pizza dough makes a great crust, the garlic knots are always a risk to fill me up before the entree even comes, and their chicken Alfredo is my favorite version anywhere. Oh, almost forgot the calzone which I got "stuck" I ordering for a while because of how much I enjoyed it.

This place is so mismanaged…we waited almost two hours for our food. The food and quality ingredients are amazing…there were two people working the front and kitchen… people waited 20 minutes to get their order taken before leaving…

Places like this have to realize the following: when you are built right off of a tollway that was created for the sole reason so that people don't have to drive through Austin on their way from South Texas to North Texas, or vice versa, you need to realize that some of your crowd not only wants to get in and out fast but also have their order accurate because they have probably been in a car for a couple of hours or more (in our case, four and a half hours with one stop), and they're probably pretty hungry. Now, on Saturday night, they're probably mostly locals who want the intimate dining experience. We visited on Sunday right when they opened. We were the first ones in. Now, from my experience that can be a good thing and very much a bad thing. In my case, the pistachio pesto chicken penne pasta dish was actually really good. Quite a bit saucier than I thought it was going to be, and definitely seemed to be higher in calorie content than the menu said, but it was really delicious. And very hot! My daughter actually wanted to come here because we have been to the South Padre Island location a couple of times and she loves the pasta and meatballs. This experience did not disappoint her either. My wife on the other hand, almost always seems to have her order messed up. This was no exception unfortunately. Everyone needs to know that when creating your own pizza, all options are not available unless you get a 12-in pizza or larger. If you just want a big slice, which you know they just cut the dough to the size of a large slice of pizza and then dress it accordingly, apparently you cannot get pesto sauce with this option. After our order had been in for 10 minutes, our server came back to the table and asked if we wanted both pesto sauce and tomato sauce on the big slice (weird), to which we told her that we only wanted the pesto sauce because marinara and pesto sauce would be a bit weird (like, duh). So, after my food comes out and my daughter's pasta came out, almost 15 additional minutes go by before the server comes back to the table and lets us know that they cannot just do pesto sauce on a big slice. By this time, it had been almost 30 minutes since we ordered. So, my wife just spooned some of my entree from my plate to hers, having to be careful since she cannot have tomato (which is why she wanted the pesto sauce. Italian food places have to deal with this many times per day so I don't really know why it comes as a shock to them). At this point we had no idea how long it would have taken for them to have created anything significant and gotten it to the table. We had already been there almost 40 minutes when we were trying to make at least decent time from the tip of South Texas to the DFW area. At the end of it, it was pretty much a waste of 50 minutes. But, the one positive thing here is that I can totally recommend the pistachio pesto chicken penne pasta, even though It really wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I was pleasantly surprised, yet my wife was let down again now by a second Russo's location! Maybe we'll just stick to Whataburger instead.

Dirty inside. Smells like sewer. Cheese pizza $15 for small 12” way over priced. Pizza had barely any sauce

I went here this morning and the service was terrible, the soda had no co2, my chicken wings were burnt so they tried to throw extra parmesan to cover the taste which clearly didn’t work, the garlic bread was soggy, the shrimp scampi had no shrimp, the server kept forgetting my sauces. All the server had to do is write down the order and that would’ve made everything so much easier. Instead of going off memory geez. The plates on the tables where filthy. The only good thing is that they only charge me 20 for my 60 dollar meal that wasn’t even edible. Even the server knew. I really shouldn’t have paid for anything. This used to be my favorite italian restaurant but dam this is embarrassing. If this keeps up this place will be gone for good.

LaBria and Dominic are great servers and made the experience great even though the food spoke for itself. My boyfriend and I stopped in and we both have worked in food service. This was FANTASTIC. I was nervous to get Italian food after a recent bad experience at a different restaurant, but holy f*** the baked ziti was amazing and the caprese antipasti was gorgeous and tasted amazing. He got the chicken parmesean sandwich and it was halfway gone before I got back from the restroom. Great portion sizes. I would have posted pics but we ate it no regrets. We will be back!

(Also the vibe is great)

This was my first time at this restaurant, and I gotta say, IT WAS AWESOME! LaBria and Dominic's service was fantastic, on top of the food being GREAT! Can't wait to eat here again!

This place has gone downhill in the last year or two. My meal was not good and I was served 5 day old cake that is hard and dry. The taste of it is disgusting

First and last time going here. Came in as a date with the wife at a very slow time as there were only 3 other tables of people (one table with 8,2 others with only 2). She ordered a medium pizza and I ordered a Calzone that had way too much grease which made the crust/breading soggy which then made it difficult to eat it right. They appeared fully staffed (or overstaffed considering the slow business) with at least 3 cooks, 3 wait staff and a supervisor but it took way too long to get served. We ate only a portion of our order and took the rest home. They didn't have any napkins around anywhere so I had to go to the restroom and get a stack out of the bin. I Packed the Calzone in the to-go box with plenty of napkins under it to absorb the grease to hopefully have a better meal the next day. No luck, the grease was scarce this time but it made me throw up and I don't throw up easily. This place is definitely not going to commence to be on our Italian restaurants, I'd rather go to the Olive Garden or pick up 7-11 pizza. If you're looking for a price-comparable Italian restaurant where everything is better, get to 1701 S Mays and be amazed. They recently had a truck drive into their front door and could still get the job done better than this place.

In general the appearance of the place was very nice. The wait staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was not quite as authentic as I anticipated but still was good.
