Rustika Cafe and Bakery: Original West U, Houston TX

Looooooooved my cake from Rustika! The cake was buttercream with banana foster filling…we all thought it was delicious. Will definitely be using them for my future cake orders.

I placed a cake order for my Mom's birthday and I was having trouble parking when picking it up which was a few minutes before closing. I called and told the lady that answered that I would be inside in a few minutes, I asked her to please wait so I can get the cake just in case I didn't make it to the door on time. Two minutes later, I was at the door and it was locked, all lights turned off and nobody would pick up my call, and this was a few minutes before closing time. I ended up not having a cake for my Mom's birthday dinner and had to rush and get one from Kroger. Thank you, Rustika. I am so frustrated that you close before your official closing time. I will never place an order with this business ever again.

Service was slow. Food was meh. Ordered the breakfast tacos, the strawberries and cream pancakes from the specials menu, and a dish from the specials menu that I don't recall the name and was not expecting when it arrived at the table. The tacos were okay. The pancakes were very dry and dense and did not come with enough syrup. The egg dish smothered in green sauce was bland and had way too much sauce. All of the dishes were overpriced for the lack of quality. We will not be returning. There are far too many good restaurants in Houston.

The cake was pretty bad. I ordered it for graduation, picked up the day of. The cake was old. The icing tasted like it was refrigerator for days. So sad, I cut everyone a slice then to taste horrible. Never again.

They are not honest. The owner told me to call to issue a refund but every time I call said the manager is not her call next day. I disputed the transaction with the bank. If I can give zero I will do it. I ordered a sandwich and I told her only cheese, tomato, and avocado. I took my order and went to my work. I found the sandwich has an egg. I called them bez I have allergy from egg. She told that what we have and I don't know you have an allergy. I told her I should receive what I asked not what you wanted. She told me will refund me. 2 days later didn't receive my refund. I went to them asking for the manager. She told me he's not her and will call you. Today is the 7th day. No one call me and I didn't receive my refund.
I want a refund or I will have a dispute transaction with the bank. I want my money back.

We only had dessert but it's amazing cake is moist. The new York cheesecake is so delicious. Service is superb.

I went with may family on saturday after thanksgiving when we arrived around 3 pm the employee denied the service inside the restaurant because they close at 4.very bad and confuse experience.

I ordered chilaquiles with eggs. You have a choice on how you want your eggs cooked. It also came with black beans. The meal itself was really good and the size big enough to share or to have some to go. Minus 1 star because I also ordered a latte that never came, I had to remind them of it and still then they forgot so I ended up asking for a refund once my meal was over, disappointing because I was actually looking forward to trying it since it looked like it would come in a glass mug rather than a to go cup like most places.

Best chicken salad sandwich in Houston. The sandwich was huge. The only thing is sandwiches come with pita chips and they don't give you a lot of those. But I promise the sandwich will fill you up. The baked goods look amazing but I was too full to try any. Today I had one of the lunch specials - Shrimp Paella Pablano. It was so good, grilled shrimp over rice with a creamy pablano sauce. It came with an amazing salad all for $13.95.see pics.

1st time was wrong cake, the second time whoever wrote "OCTOBER" in the cake didn't know how to spell.cake both time tasted old. And employees have bad attitude when customers ask to see the cake. Se merexen 0 estrellitas!

Visited on June 2022. The blend of cultures mixed perfectly into the dishes. The food was SO SO good. It filled us up, for sure! Delicious. The prices were worth it for such high quality. Will absolutely be coming back.

I come to this wonderful cafe along every single day! All of the sandwiches, which is mainly what I get, are always amazing. The homemade honey wheat bread is so soft and has the perfect balance between white, wheat, and sweet. The iced coffees are nice and frothy and the Argentinean Alfajor, Nutella Blast, and Almond Butter cookies are just a few of the mouthwatering selection

Worst Scone ever, this is a good breakfast place. I come here often, but this time I tried the scone it was terrible; I mentioned to the cashier she didn't care at all

First was great and dessert really hit the spot. The coffee was delicious, the turtle coffee and the regular drip coffee. I ordered the chicken fajita bowl and it was awesome. A very generous portion and it tasted like my own mother made it. We also had some cookies and they were great. Had no issues with the service. You place your order up front and they bring you your food.

This place is definitely not what it used to be. Customer service is out the window and the amazing cakes I used to go for, are horrible. I ordered a cake for my daughters 18th birthday, and it was not good AT ALL. It was so gross and dense (you can tell in the pictures). I paid over $50 for this small cake (which I usually don't have a problem with bc its always been worth it) just to cut everyone a piece and then try it with disappointment. Never again am I going to Rustika.

I went there to order food and I asked the lady she work there what u guys have she answered me sorry sir I don’t understand you and she I’m speaking English to her and the I ask her about the slices of cake what they have available and she answers again I don’t l understand u I told her I speak English to u
She was super rude and not a good customer service

I was there to order takeout and the customer service was Super rude and if they don’t feel work they don’t have to come and they have to learn how to be nice with a customer

Horrible service and the food is even worse. It was very dry and felt it was kinda pricey for the size. I'll pass
