Saigon Block reviews
18Been here several times in the past and food and service wonderful… Today…very disappointed.felt like we were a bother; the food ok- if you like gristle and chicken “parts” in your plate and although taste was good, it was pretty gross. Service despicable.had to ask for knives, plates, napkins and the check —not one time did anyone come by to see if we needed anything. When we called for a waiter; his attitude was deplorable; like”how dare you, ask me for this”. While we love the food and the restaurant and have told everyone about it but no more… we’ll think twice about going back. We don’t need to support this restaurant.there are lots of Vietnamese restaurants in Dallas that we can go to…
Love the service & food here. The restaurant's packed but it's really fast & friendly.
Never disappointed. This place has excellent staff and customer service. The food is always fresh and tasty.
Actually pretty delicious, baked perfectly with crispy skin. The dipping sauce was pretty good too. Compared to most restaurants around the US, I think this restaurant make the catfish skin really good. Seasoning is pretty light but I actually prefer that overly seasoned or salty. Been here couple times with families and it was all good. Definitely would come back to Richardson for more since Kansas city area doesn't really have this perfection Ca Nuong Da Gion.
The food here is not impressive, but I am not satisfied with their services. The waiters were so neglectful and careless whenever their customers asked for more vermicelli or plates. They just blamed for their shortage of staffs. The waiters look professional with their attires, but their behaviors seem opposite to their appearances.
Wished the cat fish had garlic flavor to get rid of the general muddy taste. Spring and egg rolls were delicious
- particularly swift service, family restaurant, and fish with crisp skin. You will be satisfied by the tasty food.huge family have plenty room.
Our group of 3 entered this restaurant at 9: 35pm, and the staff asked us how many people, I said 3 people and he gave up and he said it must be more than 3 people for the new restaurant served while there were still 25 minutes left until closing time. This guy's service attitude is very impolite and unethical.
Great authentic Vietnamese food. It’s BYOB too! Order a baked catfish to eat with spring rolls, or individual entrees like Pho or a rice plate. The sugarcane wrapped in shrimp is my fave appetizer there! Yum!
My Viet family’s go to restaurant for celebrating milestones. We love getting the big fish
It's been a while for us not being there at Saigon Block, but the other day for a friend's birthday, we went there. Actually, their grilled fish was absolutely delicious. We all gave it thumbs up. Fish was moist. Texture was that it wasn't in frozen so much and very crunchy. Some other food we ordered like wings weren't flavor at all. In fact, I have to use their fish sauce to make up for the blandiness. Other items on the menu weren't orderable.
Love the ca nuoung here! Definitely worth a try if you haven't tried it here yet. They're actually known for it here.
It was a bad story and I didn't want to eat here anymore, on Saturday I called and they agreed to keep the table for me, because of small children we expected to be 7 minutes late so I called to tell them I am coming but have already left the table for someone else. When covid was low we purposely went to this restaurant to eat and hope they have more guests but they treat with no gratitude. The manager is not suitable because he looks unhappy
Highly don’t recommend coming here unless you are only ordering family style fish platter. First time eating here. It was super busy, waited 20 minutes, and that’s not bad. Got seated and the server asked what we wanted, asked for shrimp spring rolls, and he said they didn’t have anymore. I asked what did they had, was told only eggrolls and shrimp paste on sugar cane. They then said they didn’t have anyone to make the spring rolls. I ordered rice platter and noodles. Food was bland. Never got a refill on drinks.
Poor servicw. I was told by a young man they don't take pick up orders. It was hard to understand the accent so I asked for calcification. After a few attempts, he hung up on me! Wow.
The roast fish had two parts: crispy skin and extremely mushy flesh. The meat under the crispy skin had the texture of wet powder. This signifies a fish being far from fresh. I hoped it was from a bad batch.
I got the Pho Brisket. The meat is really fatty here, not lean at all. If you’re like me you won’t use much of the meat because of they fatty pieces attached to it. It’s chunky as well.
Best Vietnamese restaurant in Dallas.
Best Roasted Fish. Super crunchy.
Nice ambience
