Salt Lick BBQ reviews
26This is the best food ever. You can not leave hungry. I had the chicken and it is the best. The bread is so soft. Also the staff are so nice.
Great food & atmosphere. Friendly & beautiful! Flowers, misting fans, just lovely & delicious. Highly recomend. A must stop!
Nice traditional barbecue place. Limited menu but if you like barbecue this is the place to go.bison ribs brisket sausage pulled pork chicken and the aroma make this place worth going to.
First time trying salt lick BBQ. They have a strong seasoning on their meat. I do recommend the bison ribs they were really good. The sauce here taste great almost like a mustard base BBQ sauce. Alot of seasoning on there meat however I'm not really a big fan of too much seasoning since I get heartburn. So at night I suffered from heartburn. This is a great place for a local getaway to bring family. Also pet friendly I was able to bring my dog in the picnic table area.
Really good ribs, both beef and pork. The brisket was just ok and the sausage left alot to be desired. It was dry and crispy, actually burnt dry on the outside. Everything was really expensive and they only accept cash. I'd come back for the ribs, maybe.
Good barbeque. It's mostly a gathering place for folks that like to BYOB in big groups since they can be accommodated.
Always lives up to expectations! A perfect place to bring out-of-town guests! Great food, wonderful scenery! A slice of Texas!
Not feeling all the hype about this place. BBQ was average. Service was ok. Rudy's BBQ is much better.
One of the best places to eat by far! I have eaten BBQ from North Carolina to Texas and in btw and this is great food. I am proud to also say I live down the road from Salt Lick.
So for us we just pull in order and take our food home to enjoy. For the rest the atmosphere is one of the best too. It reminds you of your back yard.
BYOB, and cash only. Those are 2 things you need to know. Oh, and come with an appetite. I usually go for traditional BBQ like the brisket, but the turkey is BOMB! If you go during peak hours, expect to park in the back 40 and wait a while. Head over to the Winehouse and there is a Bocci ball pit!
Came all the way from Australia just to get more of this and I'll be back again. Still goes down as the best food I've ever had in my life. Really nice enormous venue and the staff are very fast and friendly.
Awesome BBQ, coming from a Missouri guy! Lacked s little smoke flavor, but I definitely would come back!
It's as good as everyone says, and it just oozes character. The pototoe salad and colesaw are to die for (I hate mayo, so that's part of why these are so good)
Great place for a group of friends to get together. We ordered a pound of all the meats and collectively liked the brisket, sausage and beef ribs. Liked the setup where you can buy your beer & wine from next door.
You can bring your own drinks and have a picnic with the best bbqs around! Hands down not a place you pass up to experience! So glad I've gone enough times to appreciate everything good and wholesome about the best non kept secret! I tell everyone to stop here for a meal.and definitely wait if there's a wait.because it's not only worth it.you'll regret it if you don't!
The meat was ok i guess.everything else.the beans, potatoes & coleslaw was awful. Not recommended.
Over rated and touristy. I love the central fire pit, but that’s pretty much it. There’s just as good or better bbq within Austin. A fun stop if you’re near Driftwood. Oh it’s BYOB, but you can buy beer or alcohol next door at the wine cellar.
BBQ as good as it gets. My all time favorite restaurant. Have eaten there countless times over the past 30 years. Have never been dissatisfied in any way.
I really like this place. The location is an authentic and special bbq place and they managed to keep the quality in all these 50 years. You can have private dinning rooms with white tablecloths and stuff but I really prefer these big rooms with the old wooden benches and tables. The staff is friendly and fast, but the place can get absolutely crowded on some weekends.
Keep in mind, it is "Cash Only" but there is an ATM in the entrance.
And if you mind for wine, they have a good winery too.
