Sam's Original Restaurant reviews
17Their burgers are pretty good. The service is friendly, and the interior makes me feel at home.
Brisket was dry, bbq sauce was like water. There were 2 different kinds of enchiladas on buffet. Somehow, cook forgot to put in flavor in one pan of them.bread loaf was a little dried out. It was a subpar buffet as buffets go. If you're starving, you could find worse places to eat so it might be your cup of tea. A friend had a coconut cream pie, he said it was the best part about the dinner so it seems Sams has a positive thing or two. The service was indeed good! Our waiter did his job keeping us full on drinks and grabbing empty plates.
We live in Kansas and have kids in Houston. This has been a regular stop for us ever since our son-in-law told us about it! He races in Ennis and they stop there regularly also. The Emmons brothers love your chocolate pies and we the coconut! Always buy two to take to him. Great service too!
Stopping at Sam's on the way to Dallas is a tradition with my family. I've never had a complaint until today. We came at the tail end of the breakfast buffet. The food wasn't as good as it usually is on previous occasions. The service however was amazing as always. We love the updates that have been made to the restaurant and gift shop. We love Sam's because it's a mom and pop kinda place.
I’m very disappointed I got rejected on thanksgiving day for a togo order of the buffet. I’m a truck driver and my time is very limited when stopping. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
Sam's restaurant is as good as it gets their buffet is chock full of Great Southern fried Chicken chicken fried steak sausage barbecue chicken and gravy got a huge salad bar and homemade pies for dessert don't miss it
Used to come here when I was a kid during the holidays it's really held up I didn't want to stop eating an the hit of nostalgia was an added bonus
Very good home-style buffet between Houston and Oklahoma City. Fried chicken, bbq brisket, and chicken fried steak all good. Salad bar and coconut cream pie were great as well.
The most amazing buffet in Texas! The most tender, delicious brisket ever along with the mini bread loaf fresh made!
Food is. Service is top of the line. I rarely take photos because I am to busy eating the food and never think of photos til later.
Our first visit. We had Chicken Fried Steak and Chicken Fried Chicken. Both the entrees and sides were excellent. Reasonably priced.
Gone way downhill. Dated and semi gross at this point. Some spots on the buffet are cold where they should be hot and warm where they should be cold. The presentation of the food leaves much to be desired.
I’m a big fan of the all you can eat cat fish. When eating the buffet, don’t fill your plate on food at the beginning of the line; they put the better stuff at the end.
Father used to go here all the time all the way from Dallas. I still swing by when I have the time. Has always been a great time.
Stay away if you're on a diet. You will not resist going back for seconds or thirds. You will end up in a food coma so be sure to have a designated driver if you are driving far.
Best catfish ever, awesome fried chicken, pretty much everything here has been mastered and served a million times.
Had their breakfast buffet. Food was refreshed pretty often, and was very yummy. I really liked the biscuits!
Our server was lovely and took very good care of us.
Exactly how god intended, a good American country breakfast
