San Antonio International Airport reviews
19Thieves stole my tailgate and tail lights from my pickup while parked for 3 nights in long-term parking and the best SAT could come up with was 3 grainy videos that SAPD couldn’t identify the thieves? Really? Cameras everywhere and they can’t be identified? How safe are you? And I had to pay for parking! Sad for SA.
Awful food options, awful parking, awful direct flight options. Not much more to say, way to small accommodate the size of San Antonio.
Wonderful and new and well kept airport with easy access in and out great parking access to rides and park and rides and love San Antonio's airport
Fairly smooth experience. I've never had any issues with the airport itself, maybe with an airline being late, but that isn't on the airport.
Food places are what you'd expect, nothing too wild on that front. Obviously the prices are high in comparison to a store price, but that's also expected. Try to eat before you head to your flight (or after if you're arriving to SA, welcome btw).
For a tiny airport it’s not great. They want to push everyone’s bags over to be searched further, but don’t want to have enough TSA members checking them. Prepare to have it sit over there for about 10 min before someone comes to grab it to check it further.
Usually not crowded and very easy to go thru security. There’s no many options for food, they recently opened a whataburger inside and there’s a few more options.
Y’all need to fix all elevators. Southwest curbside check in, should not ask or solicit tips. It’s quite rude.
Easiest airport to in and out. The terminals are well laid out. Baggage claim is not a long wait.
Ground transportation is eady to fine and well organized.
Food service is adequate could be better
This airport seems big but it's actually pretty small. It's extremely confusing to figure out where you need to go from the parking garage to get to the terminals because of the way the elevators and the escalators are set up. The entire parking, walk to the terminal, get lost trying to figure out what floor you're supposed to walk across the sky bridge or ground level is enought to make me not like flying out of here at all if it weren't for how nice people are that work here. The layout is just terrible. They're supposedly building a new airport on the other side of town in the next few years so that should solve some of this logistical problem.
However, security is a breeze to get through and extremely easy since they remodeled, and it's incredibly fast to get through and you never wait more than 10 minutes. The food court is clean and everyone is really nice. There's plenty of space in the terminal since not that many people travel out of this airport compared to most cities.
SAT is a small airport for the size of the city, currently (as of 8/2023) only two terminals. Terminal B only has 8 gates, security here is usually super fast UNLESS it's a holiday, then yes, be there early. There are only a handful of places to eat or get drinks.
Terminal A is twice the size, has more variety of places to eat but still pretty limited. Security for A takes just a bit longer, but I've never spent more than 20 minutes in line, again, on a regular day.
Rentals are on the mezzanine, take the escalators on the terminal B side all the way up and go through the bridge.
Staff is usually tired, and dry, but not unfriendly. It's a decent airport.
A little confusing for getting around with a wheelchair, but very helpful people once we got through security.
It's hard to describe but as a 1st time flyer, and seeing other airports at a bigger city - the difference was amazing.
They really utilized the space with the gates area.
In LAS, sure we ate but we felt like we were at a food court.
In SAN, we felt like we could dine.
The windows were bigger so it was asethetically pleasing, the walkway is so nice, bright and clean.
Chairs are comfortable.
Really enjoyable.
To add, I wish I had a place for my baby to freely crawl around (like a open area with something to climb) so he can get the wiggles out before flight.
Only 1 level dedicated to short term parking. Impossible to find parking unless you use valet. The issue is that garage level 2-4 were taken by lucrative car rental companies. Long term, same always full during busy months. No consideration to actual people trying to park and help their family/friend passengers get inside confusing airport.
Easy in and easy to get around in the airport very friendly staff just wish there was a Dunkin in Treminal A
United Airlines was irritating. Even though I had the app, the employees were unhelpful and not very personable. We needed help checking a wagon and they were absolutely no help. The airport is very clean and the burger place inside was good.
Been taking this airport for years, and in light of seeing what a bad airport looks like, am compelled to note how great SA is.
Incredibly efficient at every level, even if the line is long. The people are all very friendly, and there are many options for food before the flight if you want. Some people don’t love the location but I think it’s fairly convenient.
They’ve really improved in terms of the number of charging stations/outlets too, which is much appreciated. I only wish there were more flights out of here, particularly international ones, I hope they can work on that as I would use it more, and it would enable more people to see our great city!
Horrible security they made me pull my pants all the way up to my stomach when I had them up.
Small airport, so it's not too crazy to go through security and get checked in.usually I can arrive 1 hour before my flight and get through everything with time to spare.
Small and efficient airport in Texas. I was mostly using Terminal B which looked new and very well maintained. TSA lines are generally short due to low influx of passengers. They also have decent connections throughout the central and west coast. Rental car building is right across and makes the drop off and pickup easy.
