We came to different days wanting to adopt two separate cats and the same girl in the front desk didn’t allow us to. She just seemed so against us adopting a cat. Don’t recommend if you want to adopt.

This company’s mission is wonderful but there is no team. There is so much going on and no time to do it. Employees are under appreciated and taken advantage of. Saving the animals is the only rewarding thing about this place.

This a beautiful website on viewing these adorable pets. This a great opportunity for pet lovers to adopt and give a pet a home where they are loved.

Lady at the front desk is extremely rude with tattoos and fake lashes but all other staff were super nice.

I adopted a beautiful 3 yr. Old terrier mix on August 11,2022. She has distemper. I have to put her down tomorrow. She isn't getting better. Today is Sunday September 4th. I have spent over 1,000 on her care. Hopefully my pet insurance will pay. I'd pay anything if I could help her. Be careful when adopting from Pets Alive.

This animal shelter has the most beautiful mix of breed dogs and cats I have ever seen. I adopted the most adorable dog and cat from this place. These people work hard to help these animals to be adopted. Because there are so many to choose from, you will definitely go home with the animal who is meant for you. It’s worth adopting from here!

We went to adopt this lovely little kitty and were told the cat was getting surgery to get fixed and had an appointment ready to meet with the foster. Then the cat caught ringworm and we were told to wait two weeks until it cleared as the cat was on antibiotics.

Two weeks passed with zero contact from the foster and when we reached out we were told, quote “the cat has already been adopted out. Ringworm and all. ”

What kind of foster allows a cat with ringworm to be adopted out? After this experience, I’m now a little skeptical of the kinds of people they allow to foster animals.

Really really wanted a pup from this location. Received a email from the SAPA in a decent time. But the pup I was interested was in foster care. I had to wait for the foster parents to contact me. I still have not heard from them. I went with The Aminal Defense league of Texas on Nacogdoches. The whole process took a hour and 45 mins. Highly recommend

Applied to adopt a puppy, and was pre-approved! Once my information was sent to the foster parents of the puppies I was interested in, I only received 1 response. I had included 5+ puppies I was interested in, due to many of them being adopted so quickly. I replied to the original request and was told that they would reach out to the foster again, and I should receive an email. Still received nothing, so I opted to go through Animal Defense League instead. Still adopted an amazing puppy, but would have loved the chance to meet the ones at SA APA.

Under staffed and over worked be patient. We adopted our little girl dog from this location after watching the website for a few months. Every email was met with a prompt response and with COVID-19 I was worried about not getting in before someone else adopted her. I had read other reviews about animals being adopted out before appointments were met, but that wasn't my case. I do suggest asking to see more than one adoptable fur baby just in case.

From what I can tell, this seems to be a very loving rescue. I am looking into rescuing from here.

Went to look for my puppy, unfortunately she wasn't at this facility, but it's a good looking clean friendly place, it's a great place to get adoption options

Great People trying to save a lot of animals from San Antonio Acs. Do not mistake them for Acs because they are on the same Campus there Building is the first one to the left by it's self while Acs buildings are all in one row of each other

I went there and even though they were closed for cleaning, the person there asked if there was a particular animal and we said yes, then they brought the dog out to me. A few days later, she's in her forever home. Them going out of their way even though they said they were closed saved two dogs lives. Good people, I don't know how they do their jobs.

They keeping animals in a inhuman way. They don't have resources to pay for the quality of the building. They say they are rescuing dogs but than put them in very poor conditions. Also, how they communicate with the people is way off, only thru email. Don't recommend adopting from this place go somewhere else were they teach the dogs how to potty train and have a yard.

Really like this place but the waiting to get in is a little rough standing outside in the sun

The campus is pretty big with lots of animals.
You are able to take out animals to make bonds with them.
So many kittens!
My wife is a huge cat lover so she was very happy with how many cats were available.

The staff is friendly and nice especially the security!

I will come here for any future pets while I'm in San Antonio.

We adopted our 1st rescue over a year ago. Stopped by to consider a 2nd adoptee. Seems like they have gotten stricker in considering a pet. Now you have to send an email request to walk a dog making it it discouraging along with all the securities setting so many rules.
