Schlather Park reviews
16Nice park for the family. Large play area for the kids and a wonderful path for walking or running. Frisbee golf course as well.
While the play area and activities are fairly limited, the park itself is expansive with large amounts of open space. The paved path will yield you about a 1.75 mile round trip if you're looking to walk or run, mostly flat, which is a welcome sight for those of us that don't like running hills. There are numerous dog waste stations throughout the trail, so please be kind and use the provided bags and trashcans.
The playground, as mentioned, is small and somewhat limited to just a couple of play structures along with a couple of swings, and is best suited for much younger kids.
Bathrooms are available, are very industrial in nature, but are kept clean.
There is a full 18-hole disc golf course within the park, with some challenging holes through the few trees there are, as well as around and over a drainage ditch for a nice water hazard. Note that after heavy rains the drainage basins will fill with water and becomes an easy place to lose your discs.
My only real complaint is that at some point they cut all the trees down in the park leaving you with ZERO shade anywhere outside the couple of covered pavilions. It makes for a very hot walk/run in the summer, and doesn't leasve any places to stop and rest. Strictly assuming, my guess is they cut them all down to accommodate the disc golf course, though plenty of other courses in the area have plentiful trees without issue.
This place is full of happy children playing, adults exercising, walking trails and beautiful scenery. Humbug. I hate it. Sure. If you like nice places where you can let the kids run and have fun go here. I prefer hanging out with Mister Scrooge.
Great place to take the kids and a great place to exercise.quiet and safe neighborhood.would recommend!
Great Disc Golf course but they need to fix a couple of the Swamp Crossings, I dont have the balance I used to have to walk across a 2x4!
Older black guy in a white chevy truck harassing my wife and kids here today. Total creep made her feel uncomfortable. This is the warning before he goes full predator.
Went to visit a friend in Cibolo and stopped to let kids play at the park. Nice mix of playground equipment for all ages. There was also a large football practice field, confession stand, and a basketball court in the back of park.
Beautiful park with walking trails, back roads to ride bikes and enjoy the beauty of nature with the deer and fawns.
It's a beautiful park but I went there to throw and the disc golf course is a joke. Clearly they just put it in as an afterthought. The layout is terrible. Great playground and walking trails though.
The park is great for the family. It would be nice to add some umbrellas to the picnic tables to protect the folks from the hot sun.
Incredible trails and really enjoyable as we walked the well paved trails on a summer evening with an incredible breeze.
Not a lot of parking, there are a lot of families and people running and walking. I do like the sidewalks. If it's your first time there you might wander off and get lost in the neighborhood but it's easy enough to turn back around. People seem friendly. The directions map provided the street was real narrow and off the beaten path. It was kind of interesting. I would recommend this park.
Clean and well maintained. Lots of areas for people to spread out and enjoy their day in the park. There is a frisbee golf course.
The park is great.
Need to get back to scheduling the pavilions.
Some families have a tendency to stay for extended periods of time on high peak weekends.
It's a Great Park and a very decent disc golf course. It's just that when it comes to the disc golf course there is a lot of marsh type area
