Schobels' Restaurant reviews
19Shobel's is a must stop if you are anywhere near Columbus, Texas! It has become a weekly stop for us on our road trips!
Wonderful salad bar, lots of veggies and choice of 3 meats are on buffet line.also have soup, rolls and dessert included.or can order of menu.great food and Janice was our awesome waitress.
I ordered The Drew, poached eggs were way overcooked and I asked to have them remade - Hollandaise sauce was broken and almost curdled.but edible. After what took forever, another order of poached was brought out and again.practically hardboiled. I gave up and just ate some of my daughter's french toast (decent) and whatever my husband brought me with his buffet (very good).
The food quality and taste is consistently good home cooking. Buffet area offers lots of options for both hot and cold dishes; as well as A-la-Carte items from the main menu. The service I’m the past has also been friendly and efficient, except for today. Perhaps, it’s the staff being overworked or the stress of the holidays but cashier girl was outright rude. When I called her out on her sassy comments she just kept talking back.
I stopped by this restraunt from my way back from San Antonio. Seemed pretty nice until I discovered the infestation of nats in the back serving station, I went to look for my server and looked down at the dirty coffee mugs to see them flying all around the drinking glasses, the tea, and just all over. Finally got our food hit into it, and almost gagged. I’m not the type to eat cold fish, disturbed my stomach the whole day afterwards. All under the tables were filthy. I just don’t recommend anybody ever coming to eat at this poor excuse of a restraunt
Great home cooked German food they have authentic Jager schnitzel and Wiener schnitzel and homemade German sausage be sure to ask for the red sauerkraut they also have the traditional sauerkraut. Great place to stop be sure anytime you’re in the side of town to stop at schooled
So we drive an hour and a half to meet for lunch here sometimes. This is close to my hometown and it's easy to meet family here for lunch. They do have their buffet back and it is always super yummy. They have gloves ready to use and suggest social distancing. Their restrooms are very clean and the staff is friendly.
Large parking area, right off I-10, and large restaurant with tables and booths. The food was ok, not the best. Im rating this off my waitress, Arianna! She was welcoming and nice! Great person to be your server! They have old fashioned candy and jams, and fudge at the entrance. Salad bar is open, snd seemed pretty fresh.
Some of the best comfort food in the world. My wife is from Columbus so every time we go to visit family I always stop in and end up hating myself afterwards because of how much I ate. Some of the best country fried steak and gravy that I have ever had in my life. Great small town feel and super friendly staff that make you feel like family. The restaurant is always clean as well. Be careful with that buffet though, super easy to over indulge and hate yourself like I do at times.
Nice place to eat. Clean. Very good service. Food is okay. Prices are kind of high but I suppose prices are high everywhere now but it was a shock since we don't eat out often. Sorry.
More than expected. The best country food imaginable. The country platter featured a half link of smoked sausage with flavorful sauerkraut. I had a choice of sides & chose a squash casserole. Delicious!
My meal included a visit to the salad bar.
Best homemade country kitchen in the area at a very very reasonable affordable price staff is very friendly
Trash.the resturant owners are the worst.treat their employees like Trash.the food isn’t even that good to be as expensive as it is. Won’t be receiving my money ever again.
Me and the wife had the breakfast buffet never had flavorless sausage before, and the eggs are so wet and runny my wife wouldn't touch them. If you like bland this is the place to go, and the coffee cost $3.25 a cup, serve for two $11 breakfast buffets and two cups of coffee it was $32. We will not be returning.
It was my first time visiting and I absolutely loved it! Reasonably priced, great food, fun salad bar and very, very, very nice staff!
Good old fashioned country cooking, friendly staff and a relaxing environment to enjoy a good dinner and a drink!
Really good food it was the first time going there. Large portions and friendly staff can't wait to go back
I have heard about this restaurant from brother who advised how amazing it was. He was not kidding great food nise staff. Love wish there was one closer.
Haven't been here in years. Had lunch today with daughter. I had the lunch Buffett and she had chicken fried steak. Everything was great. The food, service and prices were all spot on. Definite recommendation if you like home cooked comfort food. Looking forward to next opportunity to stop in.
