Scholz Garten reviews
19Great food German atmosphere is amazing. It is not a ding on this business but be prepared to pay hefty parking fees. It was twenty a vehicle.
You develop a taste for German cuisine after living in there for 22 years, Not only does Scholz biergarten deliver, it stuns! Multiple German beers on tap including Kötztritzer, a black lager famously named as the most metal beer in Germany. The Schnitzel is on point and they're jagerschnitzel is the best out of the group. They have a group of well-trained staff and during my visit there was a very authentic Polka Band outside. Where it was not the craziness of Oktoberfest it definitely brought the vibe of Munich to Austin. I look forward to my next visit!
Neat German restaurant. Oldest one in Texas. Their pretzels and beer are the best in Austin. Great service.
Parking is street parking or parking garages nearby.
The food was amazing and very delicious! Staff was friendly and very helpful with great service! I HIGHLY recommend eating here! It was a bit pricey but well worth the price!
We wandered across Scholz Garten by accident on our way back from the Blanton Museum, but so glad we did. Super-friendly service, great brats and a huge selection of beer. The outdoor patio was cool and comfortable on a warm October day.
Staff was quite helpful. Offered great suggestions when I was unsure of beer! Food is overpriced however. One bratwurst for 11 bucks though it was tasty. Live music, lots of outdoor patio space and plenty of TV'S for game day. Hook em!
Went for lunch. Nice old school feel to it. Clean. Easy to have a conversation (not loud). Young waiter was friendly. I was happy to finally be eating french fries after a three day search at other restaurants, and although they were just ok, it was the hamburger that came with that I enjoyed the most. I left feeling satisfied.
The beer and food are so delicious! A great atmosphere to relax, listen to some live music and enjoy a cold beer. They were SLAMMED when we went, but everyone had a smile on their face and the service was still top notch. No complaints from me, and I'd love to go back!
Excellent service. I ordered the black and red which was. DIVINE! In addition I also ordered the wings and venison wurst with jalapeños and it was delish! Would most likely return before this trip is over!
We really enjoyed the patio. It's a large space with mature shade trees, picnic tables with their own umbrellas plus misting fans around the perimeter. Great for beating the Austin heat.
Menu is naturally geared toward meat eaters but they fixed me up with a Beyond Meat brat when i asked about vegetarian options. Great customer service.
Went after the UT game to wait out traffic. Plenty of space and bars, live music, and friendly staff even when busy as hell. Hook em!
The best schnitzel in the greater Austin area. As good a rotkohl as I've ever had in Germany. A great beer selection (I love pils) so if you want a nice dose of German "junk food" you will be happy here!
We had a small group (10) gathering with some co-workers that were retiring from state service. One had 30 years of service and the other had 50 years of service. We were the first group to enter once they opened. Anthony our server arranged some tables for us. He was patient with our loud group and was very helpful explaining the menu items. All our orders except one were perfect. The issue with the one was minor and not worth making a fuss. Were were in and out with our doggy bags and to go orders within about 90 minutes, Perfectly done. Thank you Anthony you were terrific.
Food was awesome! The giant pretzel is a MUST when eating here. This was the best pretzel i have ever had. The servers were awesome and the music was better. Great place to eat and have a nice night!
Great place, 1st time there Becca was so nice explaining history of the place. Awesome German beers available and nice place. Love it!
If you tell me that you know of a place with a better hot pretzel than this spot, I will call you a liar. The beef tips are also amazing. Highly recommended for quality German food in a good environment
Food was great, service was ok, lemonade taste like powdered flowers and most importantly there's no fresh brewed sweet tea
Stopped in for a cider on a hot Austin day. Great service, and water tasted better than it does in some other local places I've visited. Cute decor, especially at the bar.
I don't know much about the inside of this establishment since I was there to play the fiddle and mostly stayed by the outdoor stage. The staff was super friendly and the outdoor seating area was fairly large with lots of shady spots. I did order the watermelon salad and it was great! The other band-peoples enjoyed their choices from the menu, as well!
