I thought I was doomed to wear glasses the rest of my life. Because of early Cataracts issues, I was reffered to Dr. Shannon Wong at Austin Eye for Cataract surgery and lens replacement. Based on my brother's great experience with PanOptic lens, I chose to have PanOptic lens in both eyes. After having each eye procedure in the last week (each eye one week appart), I just tested 20/20 in both eyes! My entire experience from pre-op, each procecure, to post op, from start to finish was professional, patient, and gental. I can't recommend Dr. Wong and Austin Eye highly enough! He did a fantastic job!
This truly a 5-star facility and 5-star staff. In addition to the great communication during my first visit, Dr. Wong has a great set of YouTube videos explaining Cataract Surgery and Premium Lens options. The eye examination was the most extensive I have ever had and did not require dilation of the eyes.

The first thing that I noticed about this guy was his terrible breath. Poor, rather aggressive “bedside manner” also caused me to tense up. The fact that this “doctor” provided absolutely no treatment was the nail in the coffin.
I get that there are many different treatment strategies that can be used to achieve the same result. However, this “doctor, ” as he smirked patronizingly at what I said, is not someone I would trust to revise my original treatment plan.
On the plus side, interaction with my “tech” was superb. She was kind, engaging, and intelligent. Additionally, she really listened, took copious notes, and sought to catch all of my concerns. Stellar job!
