Shoe Dept. Encore reviews
5I like the fact that this store has a variety of shoes on clearance all the time, and I usually come out with at least 3 pairs of shoes
BUYER BEWARE! Came on Sunday morning 8/27/2023 at 11: 25 AM. This company needs to be reported to the Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection. Had to return a pair of shoes that were obviously ruined but sold anyway. In order to process the return the cashier demanded ALL of my personal information, including my driver license, personal address, phone number, email, EVERYTHING. She said it is because She Carnival gets their money from returns by giving my personal information to their corporate office and then selling my data to the highest bidder. I'm legit sending a complaint to the AG's office with a formal complaint about this. The cashier forced me to sign up for a Loyalty Program. I DID NOT WANT TO but the cashier would not process my return unless I did.
Don't shop here if you might ever make a return. I was told I had to give my phone number AND ID to make a return, something ive never had to do anywhere else. Wasn't given the option to NOT give my info. They never even checked my ID to begin with when i bought the shoes the day prior. The woman said it'll go to the corporate office (i.e. My data is going to be sold to still profit off of me). At least make it less obvious that you're profiting off of unsatisfied customers.
Edit: Not sure what being a private company has to do with collecting names, phone numbers and addresses. That doesn't exempt you from misusing customer information. Also, I don't know why I'm forced to sign up as a loyalty member as indicated on my receipt. Again, never have I had to turn over ID or be forced into signing up for loyalty programs to make a return. I wasn't IDed when making the purchase so if someone else had to return the shoes for me, they'd have to give their ID and info? Makes no sense.
Not the best place to shop, at least in my opinion because I needed help and never received any. Yet I'm not sure if they actually help you at that store. I think you just find the size you need on their wall of shoes or shelves and try them on. Nothing in the back.
