Shogun, Richmond TX

A friend and I shared a quick lunch at Shogun and I'll be back!
We asked for roll recommendations and were not disappointed with the Cypress.
Also split a hibachi plate with scallops.
Everything had a good flavor.
The fried rice wasn't our favorite, but that wasn't the star of the meal anyway.

Great food and great service, the server "Levi" was the best. But the resturant management was horrible. Discriminatory and non supportive to the military. I asked for military discount, my military service was questioned, even though I had my military ID card on me.

Typical cook infont of you style restaurant. I've been here a few times and this last visit wasn't the best cooking experience. Our chef could've been new, but if you can't put oil down on the flat top to stop the food from burning or cut a steak into cubes that are some what the same size.im not sure he's ready. The Cook was very friendly and it didn't seem like his first rodeo. Just having all six of our steaks cut into pieces that resembled crushed ice, was enough for me. Didn't eat anything other then filet hibachi style so I can't give an honest review on the restaurant in total.but you mainly would go here to eat hibachi style. Maybe I'll try again next year.

If you get Josh as your cook, yeah your food will be burnt. Ordered chicken & shrimp with scallops. Fried rice taste bitter, chicken was overcooked & the shrimp was burnt. All of the vegetables was black & he tried to tell me the food wasn’t burnt. Im eating the food, not you. Disgusting. This location has been going downhill for the past 6 months

Service was very good and attentive in a pleasant atmosphere. Everything was tasty. Loving on the Yum Yum sauce that I remember as shrimp sauce from my childhood. We had the teppanyaki chicken, shrimp, and steak with the side salad and onion and miso soups along with a couple of rolls. High quality ingredients. The steak was cooked well but hard to chew and it's a little pricey overall but no complaints otherwise and definitely worth a try.

The fries were burnt, as if they were sitting for a while then recooked. The garlic wing had no seasoning. The wings were so big as if they were on steroids. Expected to eat finger food type wings. Will not visit this location again, second time here and both times very disappointed.

First time ever eating there and the service, food and chef were outstanding. Thank you so much for the great service and food.

Went in today second time the food was great the chef was amazing. Only thing I felt rushed the waitress rushed us to order. We had just got our food the waitress was rushing us cleaning the table while we where still eating. She brought our cake out then brought the ticket. Horrible service won’t come back.

This place was awesome after we had to walk out of the location on I10 due to non service. They really assisted in making my mother's day special.

We came for lunch on Friday, we had a Phoenix roll to start and our entree was the hibachi salmon and I have to say it's 5 for 5. The roll was greatly portioned and enough crunch for the fried yellow tail!

I came here for my brothers birthday and it’s a great place compared to all the other hibachi restaurants. All of the staff were super friendly and our chef put on quite a show. There were many hidden pranks and creative displays.

This place is horrible really bad service the waitress was very rude and the food was extremely salty give me a major migraine afterwards and I was very parched no matter how much water I drink, and unnecessarily expensive for bad service and bad food quality.

Way better service than the one off i10. Best to drive to this location. The extra 5 mins is worth it.

The food was okay, the lady server was kind of rude, did not listen well to orders, told her I had a seafood allergy and she failed to have printed on the order receipt so a good thing I told the chef. They were understaffed but we did have a good chef.

Expensive as hell, but what sushi restaurant that is worth a damn is cheap? It's worth the price that you gotta pay to eat here.

Their customer service is just as great as their food!
We left satisfied and full, will be returning and I definitely will recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

Went in for dinner with my family of six and two friends. We were told the teppanyaki would be at least a 30 minute wait. After about 10 minutes the manager comes to me and tells me it will probably be more than 30 minutes because they have reservations and he then suggested we dine in at a table. He assured us the same menu is available. We agreed. Our server was not friendly and seemed to be in a rush. When she set my plate on the table she placed the plate right on top of my hand and didn't even say sorry. She then reached across the face of our friend to hand my daughter her plate. The food was not hot. It was borderline cold. You could tell it had been sitting for sometime. My filet, ordered med rare, was beyond well done. Cold veggies and shrimp are not enjoyable either. Was not a good experience

New management is horrible! Screwed up my order, had to drive back a half hour for their mistake. I asked the manager for a discount he very rudely said no. I will not return.

One the best experience I had. And the food was delicious.the chef put on a great show too I highly recommend coming here this has been the best ever

We ate here Christmas Eve and did the hibachi grill. The chef was great and friendly, ran through all of the neat tricks they normally do. The food was absolutely delicious! Ate every single thing on my plate, including the mushroom and zucchini which I usually don't like but he prepared it all perfectly. I need to figure out how they make the yum yum sauce! Definitely would go back anytime
