I’ve been renting from Sixt at the DFW airport once or twice a month for the last 8 months and their staff has always been very helpful when I check in. Some customers aren’t very nice and just like to complain but their team here does a great job of you treat them cordially. Ebaa checked me in and was very friendly.

I paid for an bmw 5 series which is an 60k and they didn’t have it nor any other car compared to that. I had paid so there was no way of getting a refund and was given an BMW X1 and was told that it’s an upgrade. Don’t understand how 60k to an 30k is an upgrade.

My experience wasn’t great at all, I’ve rented a couple times before from them but this time upon return, horrible. The young black gal marked the tank as being 7/8 when I had just filled it up down the road… so I ended up getting charged $36 and had to go through the hassle of getting it removed. Second issue was she marked a small dent/paint chip no bigger than a dime on the lower panel of the passenger door, wow. You have to inspect the vehicle with a fine tooth comb or they will charge you for something that small.

If you go to Enterprise or any other larger rental companies, they have this neat little card they carry and the damage has to be outside the area which is about 3 inches (76mm) in diameter… yet here at Sixt, they will charge you if there is any damage no matter the size, ridiculous. I was charged $406 for a very small spot. (pictures attached)

I really DO NOT recommend this company on that alone, not to mention the pressure to upgrade and buy their extra services. I just wanted to hop in my vehicle and go but this is not the case.

Let me be clear: the employees are very friendly, with great customer service. However, I had some issues. First, I pre-paid for a sedan. When I got there, the only choices were a 7-passenger van at no additional cost (gee thanks), or a smaller car with no credit or refund for the difference in price for what I had reserved.

When I returned the car, the employee walked all the way around it, checking it carefully. Nothing was said about damages, but a few days later, I received a damage notice via email, stating that there is a *new* large scratch on the driver's side door. If this big scratch was actually there when I turned it in, the employee should have pointed it out, and I could have taken pictures to protect myself against false claims.

I have submitted a response to Sxit explaining the above, and will update this review once I know whether Sixt behaves ethically in this matter.

UPDATED 11/22/21: I called the company today. After waiting a fair amount of time on hold, I spoke with an employee who confirmed that the scratch was minor, and that they would be closing the claim without pursuing financial damages against me. Based on the fact that they did the right thing, I've upgraded their rating, and will consider giving them another try in the future.

I booked a mystery sedan on the website and in the description of the vehicle it stated a 4 door sedan so we made our choice based on that description. When we arrived at the check in counter they were nice and friendly and they told us our vehicle was a 2 door BMW and we were traveling with 2 of us and our son in a carseat (which we rented from sixt), we ask for a 4 door sedan and they said no big deal. They did there spill offering protection etc and gave us our number our sedan was located at and on we went. 30 plus minutes later we were still waiting outside of our vehicle waiting for the carseat we pre-book on our reservation. The front counter lady mention she was waiting for her boss to bring them over. Finally an hour from the moment we arrived to the left the gate. Check in process went a lot smoother. 2 days later I get my final invoice from sixt and I was addition $49 a day for "premium choice fee " for requesting A sedan (which keep in mind that what I booked from the get go).

I book with sixt on the recommendation from co worker as I book mainly enterprise, but this will be a one and only time for me with this company.

Renters beware of there rental strategy so your not over charged for what you originally booked and paid for up front.

I have to agree with the more recent reviews about how excellent Elizabeth is and what an asset to the team she is. This is the type of employee that will work as if this were here very own business. She took time with each family and interacted with them as if they were the only people there at that time. She walked us to our car and gave us a list of things to do while in Dallas. Thank you Sixt for a great deal, and Elizabeth for taking such good care of your customers.

Car I reserved I didn't get and I reserved it there months ahead of time. The car they had mechanical and electrical problems.

DO NOT rent from Sixt! They do have nice vehicles but they will pressure you and pressure you to upgrade to their luxury vehicles. And on top of that, they make false accusations to previous customers of damages that were never incurred. We rented from them in April 2021 in Vegas. In July of 2021 we receive an email claiming we damaged the vehicle and now owe over $1k. I responded to their letter and did not receive any type of response from them, but yet another final notice in Nov 2021 claiming I needed to pay for the damages or it was being sent to collections. DO NOT RENT FROM SIXT TRUST ME!

We checked in at 6am with Elizabeth at DFW airport and she made everything go very smoothly and quickly. She had a wonderful attitude and was extremely helpful. She cared about her working environment and kept everything clean for the clients. During these covid times cleanliness is a priority. She noticed we had a lot of luggage and upgraded us to a larger vehicle which was very thoughtful. I was glad we chose Sixt because Elizabeth made everything easy after a long flight.

Very friendly staff and knowledgeable of the area. The checking went smooth and we where lucky to be upgraded from full size to SUV! The return was the quickest we ever experienced! Highly recommend SiXT

Elizabeth P took great care of me. She was personable, informative, and nice. No wait time and I enjoyed my ride. I have had bad experiences with most rental companies, but I actually enjoyed renting from SIXT. They were transparent with their cost, and any damage on the car was documented on the receipt. I highly recommend for any luxury car rental! Thank You Elizabeth for the outstanding customer service.

Update:
SIXT is now on my black list for all company and family members as they don't want to chat or talk about the situation, I don't mind to pay $250 per day for a GLA, but it's a shame way to take these money like this! Good bye forever SIXT!

I reserved a car for a week for 1000 a month before arrival, however when I arrived, no car is available and ask me to upgrade which told me will be $400 more, means 200/day for 2019 Benz GLA basic version even without navi and apple car! This car only worth 30k for a new one, normally the rent price should be 50-70 for this level, they make it for 200!

Once I returned the car, they charged me $1600 which means $250 per day for a middle class car. Thanks Sixt gives me bad experience on my first trip in TX, I won't consider coming back again.

If I had my own business, I would take Elizabeth in a heartbeat! Extraordinarily kind and caring and reminds me of just how hospitable people in Texas are! Coming off the plane, there is no greater experience than working with somebody with a fantastic personality! Hope she moves to Tampa! We need more people like her!

Absolutely loved the experience with Sixt. Elizabeth was fantastic, the car was lovely and well kept, and Elizabeth hustled to get extra help when their line got extra long. We will be back!
