Bakery Slovacek's West reviews
17Great place. Too many things to mention. It's a ol skool original Buccees style stop n shop! Literally, something for everyone!
We are truck driver used to go there alot on the way back to san antonio. My favorite.food bbq and shopping always awesome
We have been wanting to stop here for a long time and sadly did not have a very good experience. I will say the store is clean as well as the restrooms. That being said, the food was disappointing. We got the cinnamon pull apart bread which somehow was chewy and gummy - it seemed as though it was over cooked and old. My mom ordered 1/2 a chicken and it was so dry she threw the entire thing away. We also purchased the Jalapeño cheddar bread was good but other than that we were very disappointed.
Worst wanna be kolache store ever. Haha. Over priced junk and they are not even open 24/7 what a joke on i35 and not even open. Go across the hwy it is was better
Food was fine but we had bought some ham n cheese for the grandkids thank goodness we checked them before they ate them because they were jalapeño n cream cheese not cheddar like it said. When I called the man was abrupt and never apologized
Just went in for the first time. Great merchandise and great kolaches. Will definitely stop again when going down 35.
It pains me to say this, but the kolaches - they're better than bucees! And just about everything else I ate in Texas. They were out of this world. I had a sausage with jalapeno and cheese and I was in heaven. Lol. It was so good, and they heat them up for you. Better then getting fast food when you want something quick on the road.
We're in this area twice a month. My wife was a fan of across the highway. Today she found her new go to spot!
Half the fun of stopping by, after the kolache counter of course, is all the fun shopping.
Love this place! The sock selection is out of this world! I look forward to stopping here every road trip.
Used to be a nice place to start but they've been ruined by their success. Way too crowded. Half of the gas pumps don't work. 30 minute line to buy food from the bakery. And people park their cars fill up gas and then with someone in line behind them waiting to use the gas pump walk away for 10 minutes. If you value your time go on down the road to someplace smaller and less crowded.
Great place to stop for gas, restrooms and delicious baked goods. The Kolaches here are legendary. This is a must-stop travel stop.
Not much for truck parking but I could smell the Kolachies from the parking lot.
Restrooms were clean, staff friendly and the line a bit long but that's just means ita good right?
Quite the variety of items.
And well, the choice of food, wow.
I had a hard time deciding.
Definitely will have to come by again.
I have eaten here several times. I stay at the hotel next door. Well you can't eat barbecue here today they are closed. No help they say. 2 girls cleaning up. Several folks in the bakery area. No barbeque. Go somewhere else
VERY GOOD MEAT, LOVED the baked potato with brisket! You can customize to add toppings and the store is fill with all sorts of souvenirs! Amazing stop
The best Kolchies hands down. Also, amazing breads and pastries. They have fresh food and frozen food departments along with a variety of snacks, clothing, purses, and bags. Some of the greatest wind chimes along with yard decoration and in the home decorations.
There is also a year-round Christmas store on the same location.
If you haven't been there yet, you need to go. It's located 65 miles southwest on Interstate 35W.
It's not Buc-ee's, but it sure was worth the time and money.
