My first time there, and it will not be my last one either. I had the snow crab boil with their Trinity sauce and it was delicious. The seasoning was alive with taste, but not overpowering. The crab legs were meaty with no empty leg parts, so you got your money's worth. One warning though, be prepared to get your hands covered in sauce while you dig through the legs. Fortunately they have a sink in the corner so you can easily wash up without having to go to the bathroom, which I found to be very helpful. I really like this place and can't wait to go again!

All I wanted was a gift certificate. Took 45 min because the kid was on the phone with a personal call. Finally someone asked me if i needed help. I do not even want to go into details but it was a mess! Good thing the food is always good!

CLOSEST THING TO HOME I'VE HAD IN TEXAS! This place is a real taste of La. I had steamed snow crab, shrimp, and Boudin balls. The trio for seasoning with #3 for the heat & my lips tingled when I was done just like back home. Market price for the crab was between $20-$25/lbs They sale by the pound btw. Blue crab was $12/lb (for a reason.hardly any meat on those) Nice staff and clean place. I think I found my home away from home here in S. A.

The Smashing Crab is one of my All-Time favorites! I love the spices, cold beer, & good fun times with your loved ones. So many options to choose from. If your a dare devil like myself, then go ahead & order the hottest heat "The Alamo Reaper " I love it so much, shout out the the friendly staff, as they provide excellent customer service, & gotta throw a shout out to the kitchen crew as well! They the ones cooking up the best crab in San Antonio Texas, & to put it all together, shout out to Autumn the manager, making every customer feel like family!

This place was pretty good! The trinity boil sauce was amazing. Temperature rising #2 heat was perfect. The overall price was pretty good as well. Shrimp were bigger than expected, they used a better meatier sausage than other places. Staff were super friendly.

Very friendly staff and the crabs are very fresh and tasty. Will eat there again next time we are in town.

Drove by this place and decided to try it out. Omg! It was Delicious! No more Joe's Crab Shack for us. Everything tasted fresh. Reasonable prices and fast and friendly service. I am in love with the recycled crayons as well!

It's one of the few sea food restaurants in San Antonio that is actually really good. My family and I keep coming back to this place.

An odd place that seemed to make ordering unnecessarily confusing and product is served in & eaten out of a plastic bag. There food itself: delicious! We recommend the Trinity sauce and medium to mild spicy level. Though the presentation was uninviting and the menu confusing for the first timer, I would certainly return to give it another go.

Very good. Large shrimp, great flavors and choice levels of spice. Their menu needs to reflect what they have a little better, but that is minor.

Gumbo, gator, shrimp, catfish, oh my! I had it all, and it was delicious. Seasoned well, and nice portions.

It was greasier than i like and seasoning needs improvement and 90.00 was too much for crab boil and 2 drinks

*2nd review:

Came in for the weekend because I was craving for shrimp. It was packed but we were seated right away. The waitress remembered us and took really good on attending to us. We will definitely come back for more!

My first time here and I loved it! Can’t wait to come back. The only thing is, I asked the lady waitress to give me suggestions on what to order since it was our first time. She was in a hurry to tell me and not go through it with me all the way. The place wasn’t packed even though it was already lunch time. Not long after I placed my order, a couple arrived, close by to our table and I heard them tell the same waitress that it is also their first time. She walk them on the menu and even sat down with them. Maybe its just me but, I think the waitress is a racist (I’m Asian). Anyhow, she is good with refilling our drinks. She rushed and took my leftovers without asking me first if I was done, maybe she saw my shocked face, then hesitated to take the rest off my table. My thanks goes to the guy who served our food and told me to open the bag right away so it won’t be overcooked, and gave extra bib for my daughter and gloves as well. He also updated me that the potato salad that I ordered was not available.

First time experiencing their excellent Cajun Cuisine, the din of other diners and their attentive wait staff. It will not be the last time we experience these elements!

We shared shrimp and blue crab boils, cajun fries, boudin balls, and cornbread. Every single thing tasted delicious! Our server Emily was also really wonderful and took the time to explain how things worked and answer all our questions- she even recommended other beers for us to try based on the one my husband ordered and brought us samples. Such a great experience!

We have been patrons for a while to this location but unfortunately on our most recent visit the location was out of nearly out of all of their entrees. This would have been understandable but our waitress did not inform us until after we had ordered both drinks and appetizers. It would have been appreciated if she had let us know. It was a very disappointing visit for a spot we really have enjoyed in the past.

Service sucked! And a creepy chunky filipino Guy (I think he was a manager) kept coming to my table and kept scaring my kids. Never again

Not as good as reviews would have you believe. Service was slow and at times seemed like they did not know what they were doing. If you do not order the boil, then their po boys and other items are not that great. Food prices were higher than expected for the quality. I would go to Acadiana if you want better service and quality.

First time there and loved it. Tasted so fresh.not like some places where you can tell it's frozen. I had the blue crab and Dungeness. Price was reasonable. Will be back.

Blue crab is nothing like New Orleans! It's a sloppy mess and way over priced. I'll never go back and don't recommend.
